Even after sbmm there are still many modders
The sbmm did a good job, now i finally dont encounter people with 5000000 hours while i only have 200. But today i wanted to play legion again and what ruins the fun? modders. I downed this one dude and after 5 seconds he was fully healed? How?. Or people looping me for several minutes because i simply cant catch up. How? The killer is faster than survivors. Then theres also the more obvious movement speed mods, once there was a guy in front of me standing still and then just goes on to outrun my frenzy legion. Or teleports, i am about to hit one guy, he teleports away so that i miss. Also i often see gens go at insane speeds which isnt possible. And last but not least, people disabling my perks. Played nemesis once, after 2 all my perks were gone. And to top all of that, when i leave i get a ######### matchmaking ban, theyre supposed to punish modders not someone like me that doesnt need to play against modders (the result when playing against modders is always the same: you win). Pls fix

SBMM was never going to fix hackers.

Most hackers in this game aren't really trying to win either, they just want to mess with people

Please call them hackers, not modders. Modding was not a bad thing though it was removed

Exactly and the closer you are to the starting MMR the more hackers you will face simply because thats where their new account will be at.

it was a bad thing

Oh no! Spongebob running away from NemeJane!
5 -
oh no sun bright trapper traps and removed chase sound so killer can hear survivor better.
I bet you did'n think about that

A few people on twitter did it, so that means that the majority downloading mods were doing it too. Not immersion mods like lore changes or updated chase music for licensed killers. Or custom cosmetics and items.
If people didn't take the game so seriously, we'd still be able to have that avenue of creativity. It also didn't help that people were calling stretched res or hacking (like OP) mods.

Come on man no need to call out the 3 people that did that

It doesn't matter if 1 or 1 million does that. If there is possibility for cheating you can't allow it to exist.
I hope devs will figure out how to remove stretched res from the game soon

I'm sure something could have been done that wasn't so drastic. Most players that were modding just wanted to be able to customize the game to their liking. It's bizarre for a game this casual and fashion-oriented not to allow for that imo.

Sadly you can't allow it because of dbd's pvp nature. Ususally pve games are mod friendly because they can't hurt anybody, but dbd is a different story. Modding just can not be allowed in a pvp game, no matter how casual it looks

That's not entirely true. There are still several PvP games that take a more hands-off approach, like DBD used to. This ranges from PvE games with PvP elements like Final Fantasy XIV to competitive PvP games like Dota 2. Not saying Behavior has to allow it in DBD just because we want them to, but I'm saying that modding is often demonized by this community (sometimes unjustly with stretched res and hacking) and it made those mods that were in the minority seem like something the majority was doing. Opting for a blanket solution was overkill imo. But it is what it is.

I have only run into one suspected hacker at low mmr. I guess that is one more than I ever expected, but trust me, they would bust out the hacks if they had them as the rank discrepancy is large.

No matter what the devs do and no matter what tools are given, people will find a way to gain an advantage. Shunning an entire community just because there are a few bad eggs in it aint a good way to approach it

The people who used it for bad things made it bad. It was fine just changing models to make it funny

And every time players find a way to cheat devs should response and disable it for health of the game. That what good devs of any multiplayer game do

It was a lot more than just 3 people, and was a very serious problem.

In the last 24 hours, I've played probably 15 killer games and have run into 3 super obvious cheaters and 3-4 who I have a very high suspicion had their speed dialed up a few percent.

Sbmm does not affect if people break the rules or not, it's uses are different than that.
Please report hte players you assume are cheating or breaking other game rules and send any additional video evidence you got to support: https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000942011
