Flicker Flashlight Grifers
I have seen a influx of flashlight griefers both in my games and on other people's streams....has anyone else noticed as well.

Lightborn is your friend. Your savior, even. Their clicky clicks cannot hurt you with proper protection.

Praise the Lord Lightborn and spread the word.
(I hope i don't violate some forum rules with this.)
2 -
No not flashlight blinders but ones that constantly flicker the flashlight knowing you have lightborn....I was starting to get a bad headache last night because Iof it.

If the Lightborn religion is against the forum rules, I will happily be crucified and die for what is right.

Lightborn Rise!

ALL HAIL THE LORD AND SAVIOR LIGHTBORN!

How are they griefing?
2 -
Those clicks? It is a form of morse code. They are telling us that we suck at killer and they were with our mothers last night. Very offensive stuff.
13 -
I had a group of them recently and they sounded like rattlesnakes. I couldn't grasp how quick they were able to click them. They spent all 15 minutes of the game clicking them like it. They think they're very clever/funny bless em
2 -
MMR is all I can say.
0 -
Macros, they don't even put the effort to click themselves
1 -
The clickers are like the pawns in chess.
Usually the ones you see a lot of, but the weakest. 😂

Just bring franklin's Denise and destroy the flashlight

Lightborn is actually a pretty good damn perk.
When I see some perk review and they say its bad...they don't see the real power of Lightborn, and I'm not talking about being inmune to flash saves (you can face walls and fake grabs).
I'm talking about survivors losing time trying to blind you after a pallet drop, instead of gaining distance. There goes your free M1 = basically lightborn can buy you more time than even Ruin. Survivors tend to play stupid when they have a flashlight.
6 -
ill have you know i was with your father, not your mother.
4 -
Use Franklin's Demise, suddenly they lose all direction in life
1 -
Just bring in Myers with a tomestone addon and if one survivor starts to do that then you make sure they are the first one that you mori just to see them DC during the mori 😂.

What is a flashlight griefer? lmaoo someone just using an item? That would be like callling someone a medkit griefer, they are healing xd!?!?! If you are talking about clicky flashlight people, it literally does nothing lmaoo it is a funny noise at most.
1 -
Then you haven't met them yet no what I'm talking about are ones not using the flashlight to blind the killer but constantly flicking it on and off like a strobe light to blind the player themselves. They click it so fast you eventually get headaches from it. They do it to grief and not use the flashlight as a tool.....its similar too as the said griefer would flash the flashlight to get the killers attention to someone hiding in a locker or working on a gen. That's what I'm talking about.

If I had Franklin's I would use it lol.

I figured I have a fast click finger but that's way too fast.....they also were expert loopers that somehow could loop while clicking lol.

Getting leatherface just for franklin's and barbecue was the best decision i made in this game. And leatherface turned out to be pretty fun too... sometimes
2 -
They remapped the flashlight to the scroll wheel, which is why they can click so fast.
They're not usually trying to be toxic. They want your attention because they're near a safe loop and want to be chased, or they're trying to distract you because their teammates are healing/repairing nearby.
Ignore them. As long as they're following you around clicking they're not doing gens, which means they're not a threat. Usually they'll get desperate enough for attention that theyll make a mistake and give you a free hit.

Flashlight clicking is not “griefing”. It’s just part of the game same as camping isn’t griefing either.
It can be annoying because survivors are meant to be scared and run from the killer, but if you know how to loop then often there is nothing to fear from the average killer so people get obnoxious and in the killer’s face.
It kinda sucks because it ruins the thematic gameplay. Lightborn is a great perk and the obnoxious clucky folk often melt down about it in post game. If these kinds of players annoy you then consider adding lightborn as standard part of your build.
hopefully killers will get ongoing improvements making them stronger and survivors who want to play in your face and obnoxious can be easily killed removing that element of play, but don’t count on it.

i don't know dude. I feel as if that's a statement people will disagree with.
in my own opinion, the fast clickers do it for the sole purpose of being toxic. not to help anyone. they just want attention, for the sole reason to be toxic.

Ever since the RE update came out I always use lightborn.....if it isn't Flashlights its Blast Mine and Flash Bang, and if it was the an annoying clicky folks it would be fine but these last few I have seen are not doing it to annoy it's to be toxic because it was never around big loops or that. They would wait till I was in a chase and if I knocked down another survivor or picked them up here comes the machinegun clicking, or eventually started to give me headaches from the flashing lights.
0 -
I agree with that, it only got toxic when they realized I had Lightborn on.
0 -
I would think the only thing that's "griefing" in this game is when a survivor sandbags their teammates or something. But flashlight clicking is definitely toxic. The in-game equivalent of "f*ck you".
1 -
OP is talking about those who spams the clicky clicky sound on the flashlight, not him/her getting blinded, so you fellas tellin him to equip lightborn are hmm....
0 -
Yeah that sucks.
I always look at it this way. If someone is following you all game with a flashlight it’s free pressure just ignore em they are a bigger threat to their teams success than you are.
0 -
Yes and no they clicky click the flashlight so fast it's not blinding the killer because of lightborn but its physically affecting me because of the speed they are flashing the light is actually giving me headaches. I'm not normally prone to headaches so I'm concerned with players who are more susceptible of flashing lights like that.

First killer match of the week and faced a flashlight bully sqaud :/ Got flashsaved about 8 times. Killed 2 but it took 20 minutes. Really hated it. Shout out to all the morons that team up like that to make the killers experience FAR from enjoyable.

It's strategy to make you angry and mad so then you do mistakes. Works to often than it should tbh.

That's where getting Lightborn is important don't have to worry about flash saves

Had 3 straight games. Minus lightborn, there's absolutely nothing I can do about it. I've never used LB, how effective is it?

It is an amazing perk. I do not leave without it if even one player has a flashlight. That might be a little extreme, I know more people believe it is practical to run it when you see 2 or 3 instead. But I promise you, the amount of time they waste trying to flash you is severely underrated. It is important to pretend you do not have it, by the way. Still face walls, still turn so they do not flash at pallet breaks, still tilt your head up when they go for it raw. This will keep them trying, and when the moment is right, you can reveal you had it the entire time and get a free down.
Another point to mention is that boosted flashlight players often run flashbangs and blast mine. Immunity to flash is nice, and blast mine, you still get stunned... BUT it reveals whoever planted it who is usually hiding in a dark corner nearby. You can also use it as a miniature "all ears" to mind game at jungle gyms where you can see exactly where they were going if they tried to flash you at a pallet.
Just think about the type of player that runs flashlights. Seriously, just think about it. How they waste time trying to go for saves, how they want your attention. How they rely on it at loops, especially with iron will. And none of that matters. You basically derank them. If you were facing a full red rank swf, and they all have flashlights, all of a sudden you are facing a full purple rank swf. Word up.
I STRONGLY recommend putting it on your build as it will get more value in that match than most of what you are running anyways unless you are going full meta. Only if you see a flashlight, obviously. But remember, they can still get them out of chests. And who knows what kind of subtle hacks people have to increase blind effectiveness. I became one with the light after someone got a full 90 degree save on me while I was facing a wall. At that moment, I said, "never again."

Same I ran into a hack flashlight save when I got flashed and I was blind for 60 secs and it wasn't even a reflash one single save.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather have bbq&chili than lightborn. most of the time when i down survivors, im always right next to a wall or i could fake pickup, hit em, have them run away and pick the downed guy up
0 -
I never leave home without BBQ. I sacrifice something else in the build.

I've actually had a decrease in flashlight flicker spammers. Or maybe I don't pay attention that well to notice any flickering.
But from the survivor side I do sometimes flashlight flicker if I'm carrying one in certain situations. Not to be toxic to the killer — though it probably seems that way to them. If I'm in a chase and I run past someone I'll give my flashlights a few clicks behind me to warn them that I'm being chased and where they're coming from to try and avoid sandbagging.

Same. I click, not to be toxic, but because I love clicking. If there were a replay function, you would see me doing it all the time, not just when killers are around. Ha ha ha.

If they do it at your face then it flashes yellow on the screen. some people are sensitive to this and can even have a seizure from it. BHVR won't do anything about it until someone potentially dies from it and they get sued.
0 -
Exactly it's that initial brifht yellow flash before the screen normalizes so you can see again. They could make it so that when someone is running lightborn the flashlight on the killers screen is more like the outer ring of the flashlight, that more mute transparent yellow that's not that bright. But hey thats just a crazy idea right.

They are trying to make killer mains have seirsures those evil satan worshipping survivor mains.

if they managed to get the game to 20 minutes they are a bunch of #########.

They were all partaking in bullying me lol. All flicking flashlights to get me to commit to chases, but I ain't stupid. They took ages to get to 3 gen, then they got a couple done quicky. Ive had 20 min bully matches recently with Oni. I end up standing toe to toe with them hence why it takes so long as neither side gets the upper hand.
I've genuinely hated my last 3 matches because of survivor behaviour and having no counter to it.

Yea I know the feeling....player who abuse the flashlight like that there is no real defense for except waiting for them to get too cocky and make a mistake.
