We finally get the key change and no one cares?
I've seen more people get upset about the new Built To Last change than talk about the change to keys that literally everyone has been begging for for actual years.
Seriously, what's happening here?

I care

Because keys are overhyped ๐
Key users usually got tunneled in high ranks. And I think I read a post on twitter that they made up less than 2% of escapes.
11 -
But Grandpa! They nerfed Spirit AND Slinger! And Boons are totally OP!!
Yeah I don't get it either. People just focusing on the bad, I guess.
17 -
I like the change, its just I like to see the world burn
3 -
Watching otz stream and he's doing gens in 16 seconds and using built to last to rinse and repeat.
Devs: nerfs Ghostface.
10 -
Probably because the key nerf was long overdue and there's many more changes currently on the ptb worth talking about.
9 -
I just can't get excited about gutted mechanics. Even as a killer main. It just feels kind of sloppy.
But, well, you know... Deep down (like the shallow end of a kiddie pool) I hated that pity door, so there is a part of me that is glad this happened. Generally speaking, I prefer balance mechanics, however.
1 -
Nothing unexpected. People will always focus on the "negative".
Also, some people invest themselves too much into certain roles and aim to bring down the other side completely so they can dominate.
Human nature.
4 -
People are too busy freaking out over survivor perks that won't make it into the meta once patch goes live to care about the key change.
I did see a few complaints that keys needed more of a nerf. One about how it's not fair that survivors can 99% the hatch to then hop into it in killers face. ๐

People are content.
When people are happy, they are quiet.
When people are angry they are loud.
When your game is proper, people are happy, and quiet.
When your game has serious issues, people are angry and loud.....
Duh?
9 -
Because people are so propagandized by their "devs are bad" mindset that they will subconsciously ignore anything good that's done and focus on the bad things. And make those up if there aren't any.
It is kinda scary to see how selective the human mind can be with the information it accepts. Makes you wonder if anything we preceive is real or if it's just what we want to see

I said positive things about the key/hatch changes when they were announced. They might've been a small part of a rant about how much I hate the way my teammates prioritize the hatch over all else, but the positivity towards the changes was there.
2 -
There's far too many people in this world that only care about one thing...... Something to complain about. If you give them reason to stop complaining about I've thing they'll just find something else.
0 -
They're gone, it's good, what's to talk about?
2 -
How??? Someone explain this one to me I just don't get it.
0 -
Because you don't find a key everygame and medkits have allways been stronger anyways, keys were just like Deathslinger, annoying to go against but don't necessarily made you win. The changes they made to perks and the new boon totems are meta changers.
0 -
I like the change but it is a temporary fix really. Keys are kinda useless now, their aura reading properties are heavily outmatched by perks, so you'd bascially only bring one in the hopes that you would be in a situation where the killer has closed the hatch. But then you have to find the closed hatch. Makes left behind more useful though i guess.

The reality is that keys weren't actually affecting the game very much. They were just an example of a seemingly unfair and sacky game mechanic that was easy to point in order to argue that the game was survivor-sided.
2 -
Exactly what I'm doing, build to last right now is busted with a decent team.
0 -
As a survivor I rarely used keys. And as a killer, keys didn't bother me. I never whined about how "op" and unfair they are. So I couldn't care less. Other things I like so much better about the new changes. The boon totems are much more interesting to me. Spirit needed the nerf and glad she finally got it. But death slinger didn't really need one imo.
1 -
It was overshadowed by the other stuff, I personally didn't even notice it because my attention was on the new survivor and her perks, some of the addon changes as well.
1 -
Good changes donโt balance out the bad ones. Just because the devs gave X killer a few good buffs, that doesnโt mean they are going to be free from criticism when they gut Y killer for no good reason.
Yeah, Trapper buffs were nice and appreciatedโฆ but then they completely make Deathslinger unplayable. That is not acceptable.
6 -
Also, why rejoice? Devs have confirmed these aren't the final key changes. Just like moris are changing again to make killers work more for them and keys ate getting another change later ๐คทโโ๏ธ
1 -
Agree about the boon totems. Having a area where you leave no scratch his a huge buff to survivors.
0 -
Well to be fair the key changes are something that should have been handled a long time ago. Its pretty understandable that this new perk that gives you even more item value is a bit too much given that smart survivors/swf can make it seem way better than what it is. The thing is if killers got perks that are the equivalent to these new ones survivors would have a fit.
2 -
I definitely care, though my attention is more toward the Pig add-on changes.
0 -
I'm happy with the change. It's about damn time, but what are we supposed to do? Throw a rave?
1 -
I figured people would, honestly.
Like everyone started lighting fireworks and getting into fights when Moris got nerfed to where they are now, but right now it's just like
dead silent. It's weird.
2 -
To be fair, the devs could have at least updated the hatch when they nerfed moris. Okay, maybe the key nerf needed some extra time for animations or something, but the hatch should've just been a numbers change. I'm happy they changed the hatch, but I think for a lot of people it's more of an "about time" reaction than a "yay! let's party!" reaction. The survivors got to have the party reaction when moris were suddenly nerfed.

A certain group of individuals in this community only know how to complain and act like spoiled entitled idiots
2 -
I mean, it's hard to celebrate a simple change that should have happened years or at least months ago.
0 -
lucky break has a similar (extremely powerful) effect and almost no one uses it.
0 -
Lucky break is a one time use perk. And it only effects the survivor who has the perk not the whole team
5 -
No offense to anybody but its simply because this forum is full of entitled killer mains. On other social medias the tenor is quite different. Here they find a way to moan about everything, even tho this is another killer sided patch. I mean, who cares about Hatch and Key nerf plus plenty of other killer buffs when they change Spirit that she has counterplay? So unfair.
3 -
Do we need to turn every thread into a killer vs survivor argument? Perpetuating that crap is unnecessary and it got old long ago. Both sides have players that do nothing but complain, both sides have players who are reasonable, and a lot of people don't main anything and actually play both sides.
8 -
The key and hatch changes are nice but how long did it take to implement after moris where changed.
I think also think it is being overshadowed by boon totems and other changes.
0 -
How is this a killer sided patch? When they are making spirit easier to go against. Survivors are getting movable hex totems they can rebless once the killer puts them out. These totems alloy survivors to heal 100% faster. But it's killer sided
2 -
I mean, proof me wrong. While this is definitly a killer sided patch, most complains still come from killers, so?
2 -
I dont know, read the patchnotes? Boon totems are a complete wildcard at this point, we know almost nothing about them but that it takes almost 20 seconds to ignite and less then 2 seconds to destroy.. Could be good for survivors, could be irrelevant.
The rest of it... Plague buff, Trapper buff, countless small buffs and to top it all off a hugh Key and especially hatch nerf. Feel free to name a few survivor buffs that come even close to the hatch nerf.
(I am not saying that i disagree with the Hatch / Key nerf, i think it is healthy for the game, but yet it is definitly a very killer sided buff)
0 -
It takes 12 seconds to bless a Totem. And destroying is quick. But the fact that totems can be re blessed is a huge problem. Just as it would be a huge problem if hex perks would be able to be rebuilt.
1 -
So? Seriously, so?
There are complaints from everyone about every buff and every nerf, and there are both buffs and nerfs that affect each side in this patch. You accusing one side of being the louder complainers adds nothing to the conversation except to perpetuate a very tired way of dismissing either side's concerns. "Oh, you only say that because you're a survivor main." "Oh, you only say that because you're a killer main."
There are things in the upcoming patch some people don't like. Boon totems are the big new thing being added, a totally new way of interacting with totems. So of course everyone is talking about it, that's what most of the PTB threads are, and there's both positive and negative feedback.
Negative feedback is almost always louder than positive feedback simply due to the psychological nature of humans to feel more strongly when their feelings are negative. Anyone who deals with people in general can tell you that.
6 -
Maybe, maybe not. How much have you tried them out on PTB to judge yet?
Its a brand new concept and i wonder why some already call them "overpowered" or "useless". Reminds me of people who called the Clown overpowered back in the days after he was released.

This is the healing totem https://v.redd.it/n86edxlun9q71

They made up such a small percentage of escapes but killers complain about anything survivors get that makes them not feel like they can dominate people for free so
1 -
Because we been waiting for key nerfs for like, what? A year now? And when we finally get it they come with horrible changes.
How can people be excited for key nerfs when they should of already happened a year ago? It's not like these changes were hard to put into the game, why did they wait this long when Mori's were instantly nerfed?
Just because you gave us something we should of gotten a year ago, doesn't mean I am going to pat you on the back especailly when you try to slip in even more objectives for the killer while also nerfing killers that don't even need nerfs.
4 -
Wasnt a key change it was a hatch change. Does the same job of nerfing a broken abused mechanic though.
0 -
It was a key change, though. It was given a charge time to open the hatch and the hatch spawn requirement is clearly meant to be, and effectively is, a key change.
0 -
Most basic key&hatch change for the time we waited. This exact change has been suggested so many times.
I was expecting something more for how long it took.
0 -
Couldn't have said it any better
0 -
Yeah I get that, but they literally say this in the patch notes
Developer notes: The hatch change is effectively the much asked for Key nerf in disguise,
its a hatch change.
