how come all it takes for me to turn my yellow/red ping to yellow/green ping is for me to close and reopen the game on console?
i havent even had a match for today yet and already DBD is wracking my head with questions

My ping is green 99.9% times on console.
Are you on wi-fi? It would probably help you alot to switch to wired. Is your nat type at least 2?

no point in my trying to get any ethernet cables before i get into my uni dorms

Go to settings and test your network connection , it will reveal your NAT type and you can look online for ways alter that through manual settings, if your NAT type is 3 it's gonna be giving you issues , NAT type 1 or 2 is what you're wanting

It should be at least 2 automatically if they manage to switch to wired one day.
At least for me it is. On wi-fi it gives me 3.
