Boon totems could be good if...

Boon totems have the potential to be cool. But they are broken in the current state. Totems are supposed to be high risk, high reward. Boons have no risk only reward. BHVR has broken their own lore about the entity here. Doesn't the entity like to toy with his victims? It wouldn't give survivors something so strong for free. If the devs added a risk factor to using boon totems, that would take care of the issue. Seriously just a couple small changes could make for a very cool new addition. As they are now, boons are just broken.

First, make it so boon totems can't be added until after a gen is done. That would add to the gameplay. The survivors have to work for it by doing an objective. And it would make it so they can't be infinitely added.

Second, adding a boon to an existing hex doesn't destroy the hex. But make it so if the killer kicks the boon it will outright destroy their own hex. Now the killer has to decide if it is worth knocking a boon down knowing it will destroy their hex. Plus survivors now have to decide if they should outright cleanse a hex thereby reducing the number of boon placements. Doing something like this adds a strategic factory for both killer and survivor.

As is in the PTB now, boons are not working. However, with just a couple changes they could still keep boon totems very powerful, yet wouldn't completely simp hexes. I think the power of the boons is not the issue. Keep them powerful. Just add some conditions to use. Plus it fits within the very lore they have established. And it would also be much more interesting for both sides. Just my two cents.

As someone who plays Pig, I am just against gen activation and wouldn't wish it upon anyone.
