Will you stop playing Slinger IF the PTB nerfs comes live?
Because as for me, I think I will.
Not because he will be nerfed (aka weaker killer), but because he will be clunky and unfun to play as.
If they would give him back at least his quick-scope, then he could still be playable (aka less fun, but still not feel super clunky).
And you guys?

His nerfs are not even that bad, people just like to exagerate things as always.
13 -
No. But I never played him cause I consider him not fun even before the nerf. So no need to pour BP into him for me now
2 -
Yeah, I tried him on the PTB and he feels HORRIBLE. It feels like driving a car with no powered steering.
15 -
His gimmicks were stealth and quickscoping. I understand why the ADS nerf was needed, but with a 32 meter terror radius and nothing of value given back to him in return, I just don't see the reason to play him over a Huntress.
21 -
I don’t play him much but if I wanted to play him the nerf wouldn’t stop me. I’ve mained old clown so I’m accustomed to underwhelming killers
2 -
If he goes live like that he pretty much got the Billy treatment: still nearly as good, but too unfun to play as.
8 -
The problem is not that he is going to be worse (aka nerfed). The problem is that he will simply feel horrible to play as or at least much worse than before.
14 -
Now there really isnt any reason to play him over Huntress anymore.
Atleast not when you want to do well.
Huntress is just better in every way now, which is really sad since Deathslinger was one of my mains.
13 -
I already don't play him much because the effort-reward ratio is awful. PTB won't change this much.
1 -
I mean yeah that's the whole reason I played slinger. No wind up like with every other ranged killer... Now I have no reason to really play him since his most creative part about his power was removed making him basically a worse huntress instead of a huntress with a few other modifiers.
9 -
Yes, the charm is gone.
2 -
The slow zoom in gives me motion sickness so yes.
10 -
No. While he is not one of my top 3 mains - I would say I play him regularly. I tried him on PTB and didn't have much of a change in tactics or kill rate. I still had a blast with him the 6 games I played him on the PTB.
2 -
Slinger is my favourite killer in DBD besides Plague and PH, so I doubt I'll just entirely stop playing him - but if he comes to live the way he is on the PTB, I'll probably be playing him a lot less. Quickscoping is the fun part about his power, and all the PTB changes seem to do is remove quickscoping and buff his zoning, which I refuse to do out of principle.

It depends. It depends on how bad it feels to have to wait for the gun raising animation to fire and it depends how functional I can make him in spite of the idiotic 32m terror radius nerf with Undetectable perks.
But... it doesn't look great, which is why I've been playing him more now before he gets nerfed for barely a good reason.

I’m on console so I haven’t been able to test Deathslingers changes myself. Regardless of how I feel after, I still plan on playing him.
0 -
I actually plan on playing him MORE with the changes. I hated how cheap his gun felt and now it feels weighty and strong. The reduced stun from breaking the chain is awesome too and I love that I can still injure people in more impossible areas without having to just cancel my chain and reload with nothing to show for it. Getting down to 1.5 second stun with double reduced stun addons is fun too!
And honestly, after playing him on the PTB extensively I really didn't notice a difference (gameplay wise) between his old and new TR. I haven't been using M&A on him lately anyway so that might be why. I'm glad they increased his TR over adding a lullaby because a lullaby can't be reduced but a TR can. A lullaby would have ACTUALLY been detrimental.
1 -
There is nothing cheap about his gun on live. Deathslinger does not instantly deal damage and survivors can avoid downs with chain breaks.
6 -
I meant cheap as in the way it handles, not in it's power. It didn't feel like it had any weight to it and with the PTB changes I actually feel like I'm holding a gun. Feels kinda like ranged Legion now, and I think it's fun. 😛

So you want to make a killer unfun for people who currently enjoy playing the killer because you didn't enjoy playing them.
12 -
Nope. I tend to not rely on quickscopes, I prefer to take my time to properly aim, nor I tried being stealthy with him, so I doubt the changes will affect me much.
3 -
I'm sorry that people find PTB Slinger unfun to play, but I personally enjoy playing him a lot more now. I respect everyones' opinions on PTB Slinger, of course, but I have my own.
Not to mention, I didn't make the PTB changes, nor did I ask for them. I appreciate them, though. Don't appreciate your snark however.
4 -
No ones overreacting. Slinger had nothing going for him except his 1v1 which got nerfed with barely any compensation. Let’s not forget how clunky he was to play on the PTB.
12 -
Hopefully
0 -
He has turned from my main into a killer I play occasionally.
6 -
His quick shots made him unique with a different play style to Huntress which is why'd you pick one over the other. Now he's just a bad Huntress. Like why would I play DS over Huntress? The things he did uniquely are gone and what he has now is what Huntress already has.
8 -
I won't buy the dlc.
1 -
It's funny because in practise he seems to be just as good as he was before. Only difference is that he can't abuse M&A for a free hit to start a chase off.
0 -
Actually i will start playing him
0 -
I hope people do, nothing screams you can't win chases more than deathslinger mains imo lol
1 -
Yeah, definitely.
3 -
Yes, I'll go back to playing huntress. Removing quickscoping takes away fun and skill from this killer. Though I can say NOED Slingers love the new update, now that zoning even more encouraged and you don't have to shoot nearly as much.
8 -
I will wait and see how hard it affects my gameplay, if it becomes unbearable I will probably have no option but to change to my boy Nemo (Nemesis).
0 -
Slinger was the only killer left I found fun to play after playing every killer for about 3 years. Now he’s UNFUN to play so I’ll probably just start playing survivor more if I play the game at all.
6 -
His terror radius is way too big for a 110% killer, now M&A is must on him, which reduces build variety.
3 -
Yes, these nerfs were undeserved and will only enforce the "zoning" playstyle which is pretty boring to me.
6 -
No with current Slinger I don’t get many quickshots anyway
0 -
How about just stop playing slinger... Or just give him a machine gun and kill me fast so I can get back to the non human killers. Human killers remind me too much of my dad.
1 -
I might play him more actually. Faster movement speed whilst scoping makes it so you don't have to rely on quickshots.
0 -
quickscoping was the epitome of removing any semblance of skill from him...
0 -
Absoloutely. Why play a sluggish 32 meter TR ranged killer when i can just play huntress?
5 -
Disagree, but at least with new changes he became more skillful, right? Holding m2 until you catch up definitely raises slinger's skill ceiling...
No more of these unskillful, unfun, uncounterable, easily obtainable, unfair damned quickscopes. Thank god devs took care of them and finally buffed zoning even more. Now I don't have to take any risks of missing my shots because I don't need to shoot unless they're locked in animation. See, pressing m2 for a long period of time is REALLY HARD, your finger gets tired, and that just elevates slinger to a whole new level of skill you have to master.
6 -
yes and no, maybe the nerfs aren't that bad(well , not really, the terror radius nerf is HUGE), he can still get a lot of hits if you're good at using his rifle, but the new aim delay animations makes him really clunky, annoying, frustrating and unfun to play...he was good in 1v1 chases and had no map pressure, now is just mediocre(if not worse) at 1v1 and still has no map pressure(nay, it's even worse because of the increased terror radius, AND STILL MOVES AT 4.4 SPEED!)
why should i use deathslinger, with those horrible animations delays, when i can use huntress and(ugh, never tought i would say this) trickers, thats are way more enjoyables and effectives in chases?
4 -
We're playing our final matches as him as we speak.
2 -
I will stop playing him because the only reason i pick him up over huntress is because of the quickscope with that away i should just learn huntress or shitster.
2 -
I honestly didn't notice the differences until I actually took the time to look at what was different.
0 -
I'm actually going to start playing him for the first time. I never liked playing against him as survivor, so I refused to play him until they changed him in some way. I tried him on the PTB, my very first match as Deathslinger, and I enjoyed it a lot, so I will start playing him when he goes live, provided the changes stay the same.
0 -
He will be fine. All they are doing is removing his quickscope which really has no counterplay.
