To the Stretched Res Users Out There

Well, if we are making assumptions about people based off of shoddy indicators....
It shows a lot that you put so much emphasis on age and the "type" of person people are. Perhaps you're projecting?
8 -
The survivor saw a killer that was not supposed to be visible.
I don't think that's fair to the game.
4 -
No, people hate the stretched res Nurse and Blight players too.
There's just fewer of them, that's all.
8 -
That's kind of a good example.
And small story, the last time I went to play laser tag was after my high school prom (after-prom yay) and it was a huge two story arena. Anyways, I was Junior and all the guys were super competitive and one of them may have dove off of the second story to escape. Also, people started climbing the obstacles to set up kill zones and traps.....I may have been the guy who dove off of the second story balcony.
Anyways, we were basically cheating to have more fun and totally ruined the game for everyone else.

It smells... It smells denial around here.
3 -
Can killers actually benefit from stretched res too?
0 -
Every killer can benefit from it, it's just not as useful compared to survivors. With exceptions of fatigue killers like nurse and blight who can watch where you run off while looking down at the ground due to the extra vertical distance given by stretched res.
6 -
People defending their cheats :^) kinda like how they defended their blood stain configs.
4 -
To this day there isn't a single object you can't see over with stretched that you can't see over with native. So unless you describe it a little better you might want to rethink what you said.
3 -
Some people might not enjoy it but they might actually use it for frames which are important for gameplay.
0 -
Just in case some of you aren't done coping.
17 -
thank you for linking gods work 😌
watch them say stretched res still doesn't affect the game.
15 -
Some said it only affect 1 of 10 loops, and 1 of 25 Killers, so it doesnt count.
Which mean vs GF at hay loops is totally fair.
2 -
You literally see over it enough to where you can see the actual killer which people have shown to affect certain killers worst like Ghostface
1 -
" But it's look better 😥 "
Devs can partially counter stretch res by making jungle-gym's walls taller like the Macmillan one and unlike Auto Heaven.
0 -
Yeah I'm fine if they use it for the extra frames. But if they use it to their advantage outside of comp play, that's a big no no.
0 -
how does it help to see the entire map behind him? I can see legion on both pics, thats all what matters to loop him there. What is this pseudo argument lmao
0 -
ok
7 -
If you can't see how it could help to see the entire map while yourself standing behind cover then i don't know what to say.
I just hope you are trying to troll here. Or trying to grasp on to your easy mode. I don't want to believe anyone could be that dense to not see how the second picture is so much better for the survivor then the first.
You don't even need to play dbd to come to that conclusion
Not even to mention the ability to reveal ghost face from behind total cover. To see under cars you normally can't or over loops you normally can' or to see everything happening in front of you while breaking a pallet or being in fatigue as nurse.

Imagine defending something that is against the rules
10 -
What rules? Prove me with link that anything other than 16:9 is against the rules
1 -
W I D E
5 -
I don't see the frame argument. The game is hard cap at 120fps and most players with high refresh rate monitors will have graphics cards to easily push that. Its just another excuse like it looks better.
6 -
Its not against the rules because the Devs aren't banning players for it. What needs to happen is a forced aspect ratio at the engine level with black bars making up the difference.
6 -
Yeahhh, fair point.
3 -
It's not just seeing the killer over walls that gives an advantage. Its also a massive amount of general map information. You can be working on a gen inside a loop, where your view would be very limited on native resolution, and be able to see every other tile nearby, what pallets/windows are available, where other gens are located to avoid a 3 gen, seeing if the killer is moving your way from well outside their terror radius, etc.
This is stuff that is normally only gained through a lot of game sense, moving around the map throughout the match, perks, or maybe from comms.
But yea, keep lying that it's super situational and just looks better.
7 -
I don't think they're cheating. We should have a FOV slider
2 -
Could not get the link but here is a reddit post about stretched res which is in fact cheating
10 -
That subreddit isn't run by the devs, those are player opinions.
3 -
Oh. I'm pretty sure i have seen it somewhere else tho
0 -
I can assure you no official statement of that kind has ever been made.
2 -
What? You can still see over auto haven gyms on native. You can see over the 2 hay bale tall stacks on native. You can even see over tall rocks to a certain extent on native but none of which would provide an advantage in chase.
1 -
What is being shown here? You can still see over on native compared to stretch. Ghost faces reveal mechanic anyway should be: If your head has los with the ghost face then you can reveal him.
2 -
Jesus the amount of copium coupled with the mental gymnastics of trying to defend having an unfair advantage in a video game. That's gonna be a major yikes from me...😬
11 -
Yeah, still no real argument on why people use stretched other than to get an advantage...
5 -
You can see with native res yes, but the difference in how much you can see is a major difference, I'm sure even you can see that.
3 -
Have you not seen waht it does to the game? It literally gives an unfair advantage as for whatever reason specific to DBD, it actually changes FOV rather than just resolution. It's awful to go against on both roles since it hard counters some pretty big plays.
6 -
Also imagine trying to use stealth anywhere outside of a building or macmillan gym against stretched gamers lol
0 -
maybe it "should" be, but it isn't right now. Right now stretched res. gives you ability to reveal GF in places, where you wouldn't reveal him with native res.
2 -
the fog whisperers were told its an exploit.

You can still see past the tires on native? Wow you can see better on stretched but that doesnt change the fact that you can see the exact same .
0 -
You see thats also the product of bhvrs bad coding. They only coded the game to work on 16:9 not 16:10, 1:1, etc. Plus that could easily be fixed to make it so if the survivors head has los of the ghost face then you can reveal them

Unless that video contains a statement by a developer, that's just another player's opinion, which is irrelevant.
0 -
The developers haven't commented on stretched resolution ever I don't think, but honestly, you think they are going to allow this lol, after what they did to the people abusing mods to gain visual advantages? Of course, they are going to say this is broken it was never intended to be in the game in the first place.
People don't use stretched resolution because it's "perfectly fine" they use it to get an unfair advantage, basically, the same people who modded in things to give them an advantage. Honestly a bit disappointed that you are here defending these exploit abusers the stretching of the screen was never intended in the first place to happen just another bug people use to gain advantages over others, you think that being able to do this is fair?
4 -
just one question. if it isn't cheating, why did the devs forbid fog whisperers to use stretched resolution?
7 -
It's true, not sure if I can show it in the forums though, is it against forum rules to show a youtube message of a reply?
0 -
That's beside the point. The devs decide what is or isn't allowed, not players. So when someone asks is X is cheating, an official statement is required, not the opinions of players.
0 -
i think it's not, but better blur channel names? 🤔
0 -
Tell me what you think of this then, there are literally zero fog whisperers defending stretched resolution some are saying the devs explicitly stated not to use it. The others are just flat out saying it's an exploit, that should be more than enough evidence that it shouldn't be used, just because it's not bannable -yet- doesn't mean you should be out here saying people should keep using it. Because what you are saying is just neutrality on it, when there is evidence to the contrary, why keep letting other players think just because an official statement isn't out yet that they can continue doing this exploit that's been out there for years.
It's like saying people using mods to make trappers trap visible should still be able to do that since no official statement yet, like all the signs are showing that this is an exploit that shouldn't be the case at all.
9 -
I think it's easy to claim stuff with no proof.
just because it's not bannable -yet- doesn't mean you should be out here saying people should keep using it.
It's a good thing I'm not, then. All I'm saying is that there has been no official statement by the devs that it is, in fact, cheating. I don't like it, but that's the truth: the devs have not said that stretched res is cheating, and to claim otherwise is spreading false information.
