What has been your experience lately ?

Mine went totally down hill in soloQ. Every trial there is a DC or a suicide, survivors at high MMR are now total potatoes again, it's even worst than the old system...

I know i play at a fairly high MMR as yesterday i faces Otz.

Crazy how things became garbage so fast.

As a killer aswell, i was used to face strong teams and now i'm facing mostly potatoes...

You are right BHVR, create a capped MMR 😂

usually I get 1 teammate that plays like someone with 2 hours on dbd

Lately I've been having more teammate DCs because of certain killers

    Ok i'm not crazy then.

    Honestly, it's unbearable in soloQ.

The first week of MMR was awesome, now it's started to get worse and worse every day. Nothing but Blights with alchemist's ring and speed and Nurses with range and recharge facing full meta perk survivors using BNPs and styptic medkits who then DC on first down or leave the solo to die on first hook. Solos are just collateral damage between sides. I'm sad. :(

As SoloQ it's been balanced overall from what I've experienced. Matches have been tough and challenging, but at the same time my fellow survivors have been mostly on par with what I'd expect, which result in some great team work.

It's certainly a big improvement over the old way match-making was done.

As killer, it's been a bit wonky recently where one match I'll face 4 very strong players and then the next I'll have 4 rather weak players. The difference between has been noticeable. It was more levelled before, but I'm uncertain whether the cap could be involved in too many players getting to a certain end, with wildly different skill sets.

Yes, the experience as a solo survivor is terrible, old system was way better.

Killer side, at start i only had tough trials, still manage to 2k or 3k. Now it is exactly the same experience than pre-SBMM.

The cap is definitely responsible in the current state of the game. Many players have reached the top even though they haven't the necessary skill. The skill disparity is noticeable now.

First 2 weeks had been heaven. I didn't get a single weak teammate. Games were fun and interesting because I knew I could rely on my team. Now all I get are literal bots. I guess mmr really does have a cap, so now every 100 hours dbd god, by ditching teammates and camping hatch with a key, reached highest mmr and plays with me. What's the point of mmr then?

They can do with extending the cap. Once that ceiling is hit, then that's where problems occur. As you say, too many reach that cap and then it becomes too crowded with a variety of skill that will frustrate everyone involved.

I think that now sbmm rates are settling, the system is averaging differences between high and low survivors to group matches.

While grades have no direct effect on mm, I have noticed after losses an increased frequency of getting 2 iridescent then 2 much lower grades nearing a beginners time investment.

Its still better than the old system, but i get more dcs or suicides compared to the start of the mmr. It feels like a stricter emblem system with extra ranks. It takes longer to reach high mmr as red rank, but slowly even average players reach the top.

My solo que teammates are still better than the average old red rank, but sometimes there is an urban evader, who only tries to avoid the killer. Compared to the start there are less people, who go full-out with their equipment.

I dont know for sure that i have high mmr, but i got matched with two legacies, who played against otzdarva on the same day.

So with the knowledge about the mmr i think that more people reach the mmr cap and matches get more random again. Currently still better than old red rank imo.

It's pretty good for survivors in general or "average" players.

However, for the higher tier players (killer role specifically) it's a nightmare. Those "sweat squads" weren't too common so at least you got to have a lot of fun games in between but now when your MMR is so high it's literally almost every single game back to back SWF with thousands of hours each. If the game was balanced at the top tier of course I wouldn't care as it's a balanced level of skill on each side, but that's simply not the case. You normally psuedo avoid the unbalanced nature of the game through bad matchmaking but now that we have that gone it's lots of either losing through game balance or winning but you really didn't have fun because everyone's just playing with the most un-fun "play to win" mindset.

Yes the survivors get better killer players as well however the biggest weakness for survivors was the matchmaking and SBMM has essentially removed that at the high MMR. So even for top tier MMR survivors it's still quite good for them overall.

TLDR: SBMM it's a nightmare for high MMR killer players and saps a lot of the fun out of the game as it points out the glaring balance problems in the game way more so than before where it was at least covered up better. I would much rather have the old system since they refuse to balance for the high tier game play.

Also a side note: I really hate how it sticks even the killers you don't play at a base high MMR because of your mains. I came back from a bit of a hiatus for school so I just bought Nemi and literally my first few games even touching him are also facing multi-thousand hour SWF that I would usually see on a main.
