If a brand new licensed Survivor costs $5 AND comes with perks...
...then why does a Legendary Licensed Survivor, that is basically a "new Survivor" without bringing any new perks to the table $15? They have a new voice, but so do new Survivors. They are a completely different person, but so are new Survivors. And I know the obvious answer is "because people will spend $15", which I understand--I myself will be picking up a certain Legendary Survivor from a certain franchise when he comes to DbD, but I think the pricing is still a little wacky. Is there something I'm missing?

money

Because people will buy it anyways. May as well charge more for it.

Okay so, this is a company and must make their money somehow. We can agree on this one, yes?
So, I ask you this question: would you rather the chapters be cheap, or the skins be cheap? You can have one or the other, but not both.
The answer to this question will probably answer the entire post

Body is 1 character too short

I understand what you're trying to say, but I kinda feel like that comparison isn't quite right. I have no problem with non-Legendary skins for Survivors and Killers costing $10 on average because that's just regular pricing for games these days, like League. Not to mention I feel like DbD skins are more worth your money than say, League skins because you can see more of your character on DbD than League allows. But with $15 Legendary Survivors, you can't change their outfits and they will always look like that one Survivor, unlike the $5 Survivors that you can customize extensively. It just seems pricey for buying another Survivor minus the perks and even seperate lore.

Once more I ask, expensive skins or expensive characters? Because you cannot have both, and legendary characters are skins above all else.
(also some lore does change, actually).

Umm, my answer is still the same... I'm fine with "expensive" skins for all other characters because it's appropriately priced. But $15 for basically another Survivor with minimal changes is still wacky. If they were more appropriately priced, say $10, that would be a lot more reasonable and in line with DbD's average skin pricing.
And it's also not really appropriate to compare the handful of Legendary skins in the game with the larger amount of chapters available for purchase (not to mention that the Legendary skins only affect one character per chapter). Just doesn't seem like a proper answer to my question, not that I'm really looking for an answer--just pointing out the odd price disparity.

Legendaries are for licensed characters. This incurs a further fee (royalty) on top of a flat charge required for use of the IP. In order to continue to make money, they must be priced higher.
Again, BHVR is a company and all of their DLC are relatively cheap in comparison, which are the bits needed for the game. The skins are entirely optional and as such are higher.
So I will continue to ask until you answer my question- would you rather the optional skins or the actual content needed to play the game be the expensive ones? Because you cannot have both of them be cheap, especially not licensed skins which need extra fees on top of fees on top of legal pain and suffering.

Nobody's saying they should be free. They're saying the prices could be more reasonable. The volume of sales if anything would go up.

Exactly! A Legendary Survivor is actually worth less than a simple $10 skin because at least you can mix and match with the skin, and you can't do that with your Legendary. If they were priced the same as a $10 skin it would be a lot more reasonable and they would sell a lot more for sure.
@GoodBoyKaru , my answer remains the same and I'm not going to repeat it. I'm not ragging on BHVR at all for the price of Legendaries, like I said I'll be purchasing one by the end of this month. There's no need to defend them so adamantly! Just pointing out how odd the price disparity is for the content that you're receiving.

if im not mistaken at some poaint they have said that they created the legandary skins to be able to add more characters and less grind for perks

Okay but if you are going to be charging 5 USD per character, the game should be F2P with how many characters we have now.

A lot of players already purchase these skins, the prices are similar to other games with cosmetics in, and once more legal fees.

Just when you thought the hacker problem couldn't get any worse, suddenly it just has.

I doubt it'd be that much worse. BHVR still needs better anti-cheat.
Regardless, $30 for the game and $90 for DLC (not including stuff you could buy with Shards) is ridiculous.

Believe me, I am all for the game going F2P the second they get an anti-cheat that ######### works instead of kicking people out because their hardware has rgb lighting on it.

I'd like that as well.
Unfortunately, that probably isn't going to happen.

This, pretty much.

Are you trying to make new survivors also 15€ ? Dont give them ideas please
1 -
An extra 5 dollars per boon perk. This is how they will be balanced. Pog.

Seriously though, the base game costs 30 USD on Xbox.
The non-grind DLC characters (licensed) are 90 USD alone.
If you want all of the non-included DLC characters on Console, it's 185 USD (assuming all characters are 5 USD and that Survivors up to Bill are free and that Killers up to Huntress are free). In total, that means the full DBD experience is a whopping 215 USD!
That's not including the grind at all.
