Deadlock + Corrupt is better than Ruin + Undying/Pop
Reliable and consistent slowdown that you don't really have to do nothing to get value of. It's incredible. You don't really have to rely on totem spawns or maps, and it's good on every killer, from the set up ones to Blight. Put Lethal Pursuer on top of it and it becomes even more amazing.

Dead lock works 4 times, and is not guaranteed to lock the gen survivors are currently working on so sometines it does nothing, so it actually works even less times than 4

It blocks the gen with the most progress, so 9 times out of 10 it will block either a gen someone is working on, or the gen they really want to be working on.
On the other hand people basically wet themselves over corrupt which just moves where survivors do gens while you chase the first person.

The gen with most progress is usually:
- A gen survivors are working right now;
- A gen survivors want to finish.
It's incredibly rare for survivors to work on a gen for a decent amount and just leave it be. It can happen, but from my experience running this combo the perk is super consistent and it slows survivors down a lot. The best thing is that it works better when it activates the third and fourth time, as it prevents survivors ganging up on the last gens.

Good survivor teams will usually split up on gens. Deadlock counters that a lot.

Deadlock + Corrupt requires zero input and is more reliable, but Ruin + Undying gives you much more control over generators. With Deadlock you can't really defend specific generators yourself since the perk does it on its own and you gotta focus on downing survivors quickly while with Ruin you get a ton of value for pushing people off. They are both playstyles, I would say Deadlock is an alternative to Ruin or Pop.

completely countered if survivors are doing gens together with prove thyself. That means there is less chances any other gen will have decent progress so you better use discordance to make it woek better.
In my experience this perk sucks

Corrupt usually delays the first gen by about 30 seconds, which could be exactly what you need to get your first hook and get the pressure train running before you've lost 2 gens already.
Survivors tend to spawn right on a gen and start working it immediately.
That said, Ruin can do the same job better, if you can just find the gen they start first and chase them off it.

I hope you realize that perks aren’t meant to get use every single game. Deadlock has its uses and it does its job well. Just because it doesn’t counter specific things doesn’t make it a bad perk.

Every perks has it's strengths and weaknesses.
If you find you're not able to chase survivors off gens consistently enough to get value out of Ruin, Deadlock would be the next best thing.

Rushing gens together with PT is only effective when there are only 1 or 2 gens remaining and Deadlock counters that by blocking one of 3/4. It doesn't help at the start, but that's why Corrupt is on the build.
Corrupt is a perk that I notice a huge difference when taking it off. It's the most consistent perk to get your first down before a single gen pops, and you'll never have 2-3 popping on the first hook. It takes a bit of zoning to use it well, because your first chase should preferably be taken on the side which is not blocked.

i genuinely think if you can't have value from the perk every game as killer it's a bad perk. You just can't allow some of your stuff to not work. You're not a survivor

While I LOVE Corrupt and I personally think Deadlock is really good I'm not sure about saying it's better than Ruin Undying or Pop Ruin.
I'd need to see some tests comparing it to the others, namely Pop Ruin since Ruin Undying can potentially be dispelled early on in a match.
Another thing to note is that different killers will synergize with certain perks better.. Anything involving Ruin is usually meant more for high mobility killers. I'm not doubting the efficacy of Corrupt Deadlock I just think this combination will be best on slow, setup killers or killers who want to get the first hit asap and can't contest gens for Ruin pressure.
Or, you know you just don't want to deal with Ruin potentially being cleansed in the first minute. But all that being said, Ruin if left up and you apply appropriate pressure is still proven to be the strongest regression and slowdown perk so idk about these claims.

Read the title again. I was talking about Ruin + Undying or Ruin + Pop.
I think she might be an exception as she gets nice value out of Hex perks, but Corrupt is still very good on her imo.

Currently, I am running Pop + BBQ + Lethal Pursuer + Corrupt. Corrupt does nothing for me unless I can start the chase ASAP.

I am getting good value with Corrupt + Whispers on low mobility killers. Maybe Corrupt + Whispers + Deadlock might be good, will try that.
The reason I use Whispers -- Corrupt is not that consistent, sometimes it blocks 1 + 2 gens on opposite sides of the map and once I get there - - survivors already working on gen.

Whispers is also a good option, although I'm more of a fan of Lethal Pursuer, especially on killers like Nurse and Blight who get insane value out of an early down.

I agree, Lethal Pursuer is very good on high mobility killers. I like it on Billy sometimes. Also on Iri hatchet huntress for memes :D

After watching a nearly complete gen regress 2/3s of the work I had done, after I had gotten quickly hooked, then unhooked and quickly rushing back to the gen. Also, watching 4 survivors being unable to complete a single gen because of Freddy using Ruin. I would say that Ruin is way over-powered compared to any other 2 gen regression perks in the game.
The downside is if it is found. It Ruin isn't found, you pretty much have won the match as killer.
