For those who think/thought SBMM was a good idea, what are your thoughts on it now?

I'm not trying to attack you for thinking SBMM was a good idea, I'm neutral on SBMM, but I want to hear thoughts from those who want/wanted SBMM on the state of SBMM right now.

Please only vote on the poll if you wanted SBMM prior to its release or still want SBMM in the game.

EDIT: I just realized how confusing option 1 and 2 can be.

Option 1 is where you'd want SBMM in the game but differently to where it is now. In other words, a different SBMM system that works differently.

Option 2 is where you'd want SBMM to be tweaked in its current state, or reworked in its current state. I really, REALLY should've phrased those options better, my apologies.

SBMM should still be implemented in the game in some way, DBD needs it.

I changed my mind, SBMM shouldn't be implemented in the game.

I think it works well on killers and just needs a small few tweaks (such as amount of hooks and game time) but the fact that each survivor is considered a different match works surprisingly well.

As for survivor, I hate it. You can play an amazing game, loop the killer for 4 or 5 gens, and then you get struck by noed and get camped. Logistically you should have your MMR raised. You died but you're the reason your team won. For some reason however, chase time isnt taken into account meaning even if you play your A game but die, you lose MMR rather than gaining any.

I guess I’ll say I’m neutral since I wanted to see ranks completely hidden and you face whoever you cross while queuing.. you would have no way of knowing if they were rank 20 or rank one, you would only see skill or a lack of it. It’s not like tons of iri players never truly belonged they to begin with and it would eliminate any chances of complaining coming from either side of “why am I facing 4 rank 1’s and I’m rank 10 or 4 rank 10’s upset with facing a rank 1 killer (I’m using old rank as an example).

I “feel” as though when I solo queue I’m getting paired with people more or less closer to my skill but just like before you get paired with people that lack situational awareness or game knowledge.. I screw up all the time too so I easily could look like the baby in the bunch from time to time.. who knows. As killer it’s still the same.. they either have no chance at surviving, I have no chance at stopping the gates from being opened, or I pull together a comeback at 1 gen etc.

The most noticeable trend I’ve seen however is while playing survivor. If I die 2-3 games in a row I get put up against a killer that I would never be able to get killed by unless I do what I almost always do and sacrifice myself to save someone else.

It “feels” like the sbmm is trying to balance it out so I’m facing a true threat and if I die I get paired with either a group that will easily overwhelm the killer and we all get out or even 1v1 we aren’t even in the same league.. it’s an attempting to be subtle but really it’s just giving me a freebie to boost confidence and feel like a god gamer.. except I’m not oblivious to what seems to be going on. This also provides a system where in theory I should be dying a few games then living the next few for a 50/50 escape rate.
