What are your best and worst stories with sbmm?
My worst happened this month.
Played three games with spirit and I guess that is all it took to reach the unwinnable level with her. Getting mmr points with killer is too easy🙄
Matching feng costumes in lobby...decided to play (unfortunately). Got looped all game after 4th gen popped with 1 hook just went to the basement and phased to get deviousness up.
Fengs all decided to sacrifice themselves to the entity...I get brutal killer and mmr goes up. Their mmr goes down. Next game was normal...got 2 hooks this time.
Following game 2 bills and 2 davids same story get looped got 4 hooks...had to try to slug no good. I open the gate and stare at the wall. All 4 sacrifice themselves again and brutal killer. My mmr goes up again I guess yay (back 4 blood calling my name).
It would be nice to get a working system but you know variables right?
My best was looping a killer for 4 gens in the same month (I died in the end but made them work for it).
So how about your sbmm stories as either survivor or killer?

if they're killing themselves every match that means their mmr is probably fairly low, so I'd guess it's not that your mmr is too high but that they've rigged theirs to get lower than it should be

Burnt out completely of trying to win. Now i just sit in the basement protecting the chest until i feel like im having fun as killer again

I recommend you start camping after first hook and than purposefully play bad enough to make them want to leave and get looped <this works all the time and it will make you lose mmr fast and is quite fun>.

My worst sbmm story is that since its release about 80% of my killer games are over in less than 5 minutes :D

Well, as everybody is just adding their worst I will add my best so far:
I was playing Cenobite in the swamp running the usual build (Plaything, Scourge Hook, Deadlock, Brutal Strengh). I had 4 competent survivors who were working together. I got some nasty flashlight saves but also some pretty sweet chains down and even thou the match ended with 4 people escaping I felt it was a fair game. I was pretty exited, there was not a second that was not tense without feeling unfair and clearly the match could have gone either way.
In the end just gg wp from both sides. Good manners and they just left.
Good game, good survivors, had fun.

I don't know about best. I had few really good games, where they just played really well and went for protective hits. Thing is, they didn't use map offering, didn't have items, they weren't even SWF, so I really like that game, because it was just clash of skill.
My worst are probably with Legion. I had games where I just wasn't able to get more than 1 hit with Frenzy. When they new someone else is there, then they camped pallet and stunned me after hit, so I wasn't able to see or hit anyone else and if they were in deadzone they just tried to loop and spin, because I just wasn't in range for any more hits. Yeah, 3 hooks total that game.

I am pretty sure they were lowering their mmr on purpose and we hit the crossroads of me going up and them going down.
Getting those extra points on a killer I dont play regularly isnt that hard unfortunately.

I only have bad stories - I haven't played killer since 2019, in 2020, 2021 I played like... two killer matches per three months, so how 'high' my MMR can really be, right? When it started, I thought to give it a shot, since it should be finding me people with my 'skill' level...
So first match - me on Ash IV, vs 4 absolutely sweaty SWFs, each with few thousand hours, iri ranks (before someone says 'but ranks don't matter' - if I have Ash IV, it means I haven't played or played poorly, right? If someone has Iridescent I it means he played pretty well and pretty long. It's not even an opinion, it's a fact) etc. So I got destroyed before I realized ######### happened.
Second match? Basically the same. Third? Wanna guess? I mean... I guess I must be super skilled and my MMR was rising even though I didn't touch killer for two years!
I tried it a few more times and decided to quit. Great job BHVR, as always.

either there's a hardcore genrush and they leave in the blink of an eye, or they're all awful and just die immediately

Trickster (first time ever), Pinhead (first time ever) and Huntress (first time since 2019).

Your mmr will likely adjust fast if you haven't played that many matches. If you 4k'd most of those, the system probably just seeded you too high.

Your mmr should not have been that high though...supposedly all previous mmr data was scraped until the newest test.

I lost all of those matches and previously I played in like June (I think) two games as Ghostface. And Trickster and Pinhead I've never played before so...

Yeah if you 4ked a lot then you were placed in a higher seed when sbmm started. Your main killer dictated the starting level of your other killers.

What? Did you even read what I wrote? xD I played two (2, TWO) games as Ghostface in June and played those three games in September! Previously I've played as a killer in 2019, how is that '4keying' a lot? xD
I play killers (LITERALLY) like two games every few months, in 2019 it was last time I actually 'played' killer, I mean regularly. If a player like me gets paired with 4 survivors who play regularly on rather high level, then the system is stupid and/or broken.

I did but it is not as much fun for me.
I get the appeal and it is an interesting build to play or play against but I like my build more just for personal reasons. However I enjoy Cenobites bringing this build because I finaly get something other then Pop/Ruin/Corrupt/Tinkerer. Makes for a nice experience.

Sorry I meant that is how the system is supposed to work with the seeding🤣.
It is broken at the beginning but eventually evens out...you just have to take a lot of losses first.
It took 30 losses with trapper of all people to reach the groups I had pre sbmm.
