Game is full of hackers? Let's ban mods!
I find that so funny but it's not funny in any way. It's just sad
I never in my life saw a game that can be hacked so easily. Does this game has a anti cheat at all?
And now comes the funny part. They are not doing anything against that since years. But now since mods are a active thing since 6 months they are trying so hard to ban them.
Let that get into your brain.
Hacks that ruin other peoples games are there since years and get worse with every year
Mods that do nothing then change a few textures and sounds on your own screen get tried to disable and banned.

You know what's worse than playing vs a hacker?
Knowing he'll never get banned

People were using mods that gave an inherent advantage in the game. Let's not pretend they had no effect.

- Body is 1 character too short.

Damn that's ugly.
And something like this just to have a higher chance at winning? Against anonymous people on the internet?
Yikes
But hey, i never understood the attractiveness of cheating outside of the own perception of ones online balls or whatever.

For me it would be losing the bloodpoints and waiting 5 minutes if it was one of those hackers who can somehow manipulate whether the game ends or not.

So..you're fine with me changing the textures for all survivor models in a plain bright pink? And maybe making so that specific textures are transparent?
Agreed, they should take quicker actions against all kind of cheaters, but even changing some textures can make a lot of difference

If you don't report him with evidence, sure.

there's not even a point in banning them, not until they get better anti-cheat (which will probably be never) It's also impossibly easy for people to obtain hacks for the game in the first place. There's nothing subtle about where they get them. And until a better anti-cheat is added hackers will just just alt accounts and buy the same hacks again and again.

something similar happened to me. i downed ace, checked last gen (it was ~50% done) go back to ace, hook him (took, like, 8-10 seconds)... and saw gen get completed. even more sad is that at the end i get "no network connection", so, i couldn't even look at their items/perks (my internet is ok, i was in discord with friend and we were talking like always, without any issues)

Ahem...

Do you wanna summarize the points of the video? I don't tend to watch several minutes of a video someone posts at random without any context.
3 -
coconut rts is a well known huntress main that is being bombarded with cheaters thanks to sbmm. He has reported many of them multiple times with evidence but they are still in the game (they are literally flying etc). He shows responses from the dev team and concludes they don't do diddly squat.
His latest vid is him playing roblox while being held hostage on stream.
5 -
There are players with multiple reports with video evidence of them flying on different streamers with over 100 viewers that are still playing after months.
So yeah
Guess we should report them better

Thank you. However, without knowing for certain that he did, in fact, report them properly, I can't take that at face value, especially since other people have said that the people they reported have been banned.

yes... someone having their living destroyed by cheaters would just let it go without caring.
He shows responses from the support team to his reports. We have seen him fill in the report forms on stream.
You do you, we can't change how you see the game or what is happening around you.

We have seen him fill in the report forms on stream.
This would've been helpful to know earlier, just FYI.
You do you, we can't change how you see the game or what is happening around you.
And this rings hollow when you withhold relevant information like that.
yes... someone having their living destroyed by cheaters would just let it go without caring.
Many people on the forum have claimed that streamers keep telling their viewers not to report, so, yes, they would.
3 -
streamers often say not to bother reporting because the chances of anything being done about it are so low. It's just a waste of time.

I hate how they make it so difficult and tedious to report people though. Even with evidence. From the report section at end game it should take you straight there and you shouldn't have to put in the players steamid, etc if you're doing it on PC it should auto fill. I know this would increase the number of bogus reports too but they could just ignore one's without evidence (which I think they do?)
2 -
And I keep seeing comments to the reverse, that cheaters they reported were banned.
Agreed, the report system needs to be improved.

Only if the devs were good enough to whitelist & blacklist what u can and can't mod.
Then we wouldn't have this issue, ey? But it's easier to ban mods altogether than to think of your player base.
1 -
Just how many people do you believe stopped playing because you can no longer use mods? The console playerbase is unaffected, the streamers stayed, and most people weren't using mods to begin with (modders are a minority in almost every single game in existence).

Yeap. Even if you reported with full on video evidence they decided to keep the report result secret from you. I got the steamid of the hacker and he just straight up changed his nickname and how the heck would I know if I would get matched with him again? Seriously BHVR? I guess they were evaluating if the hacker buys stuff and finally decided to cancel that ban out with something less harsh.

Because the SteamID is static and independent of their username?

The worse thing there also Hacks where the Players cant know if the other Player is hacking
Something like if a Killer use a cosmetic Hack to make the Survivor Models on his Screen bigger so he can easy find them but the Survivor Team cant see if he is hacking because the Hack is just on the Killer sscreen

Found out a hacker i reported got banned. No game listed but the ban came a day ago. So it looks like submitting a report is working the in game report system is rubish you need to submit a ticket.
Normally I'm all for bashing behaviour for messing up. But it looks like there making an effort to curb this cjeater epodemic. I only hope they improve there report system going forward.
Keep a small record of there aggregious dbd hacks and use the steam name identifier. This hopefully should be enough.

You found a script kiddie that didn't run protections. The infamous ones can send you to other peoples profiles or just block the report button outright.

Well for one, mods that change SOUND can definitely be considered cheating, 2 there could be a mod that lights characters up like a Christmas tree, making that particular side easier to see and 3 Devs won't unban because I'm assuming that they don't know how much of 2 has been utilized. Cheaters are the bigger problems but it is pretty difficult to pin them down, which is why they need to add an replay function so people can submit evidence of a cheater in action without the downside of having a large video file to attach.

I didn't mention people leaving cause of mods being banned.
Mods were nothing more than a new fun way to play the game. You'd have Amogus run around Krampus Trapper or the characters from Fortnite looping a spirit. Coca-Cola Lockers, Hello Kity generators, etc. If I was getting carried to a Shrek Hook that would make me smile & laugh.
No idea if people left. Maybe some left, maybe some are playing less, we don't know. This is not important, what's important is the fact that instead of properly addressing these kinds of mods by whitelisting / blacklisting stuff, etc, it's far easier to just press the kill switch and not worry about it anymore.
Pff, and they say they care about us, smh. What a disappointment. The game is not even worth my sanity anymore, not even these forums, but I just lurk around here and there. I'm just watching from afar the dumpster fire.

Let me rephrase: how many people do you believe were affected by this change?
0 -
a very small amount.
0 -
And how many do you think wanted mods gone, if only to provide some relief from the cheating that could be done with mods?
0 -
Even if they do get banned they'll have another account in minutes for 5 bucks.
0 -
Obviously a lot more.
However, we get back to my point. Instead of whitelisting stuff that u can and can't mod, it's better to press the kill-switch on that, than to just work on it. A new type of content, theoretically infinite, has disappeared overnight. If u wanted mods gone, a better approach should've been taken.
And don't you dare tell me they can't do that, they whitelisted stuff that u can edit in their GameUserSettings & Engine files.

Because funny coding yourself as hooked somehow with no timer... god this game needs to be remade entirely.
