Need Experienced Pyramid Head Main
I need a few tips on the use of the corruption trail and ways to use it other than to place in between pallets spots. Also some suggestions for perks NOT inside the meta concept as I refuse to play that way as I never win with it.

Couple of quick thoughts.
I place short bursts of trails in areas I think may be well traveled, like window vaults or grassy areas. But mostly I use trails in loops. When a surv is looping me, start dropping trail. They will either take the loop wide, leave the loop, or get tormented.
Perk wise, I try to use perks that keep me moving and aren't hook based. PH will hook people though, and a lot more often than one may think, so one can use hook perks, just know that it creates a little conflict between hooking and caging. You'll always have to make a choice.
Lately I use Deadlock, Tinkerer, Mindbreaker, Thrilling Tremors.
Other options are Nurse's Calling, though I find its usefulness drops off either once they know it's in play or you reach higher MMR. I'm All Ears is also popular, just be sure to practice hitting that Punishment whenever they are stuck in vaulting animation.
I also want to try Hex: Plaything on him. Since there are only 5 totems in play anyway, it could be a useful way to make use of the times I do have to hook.
I'd say experiment with perks that have persisting effects that don't bind you to the hooking gameplay, but maybe can be useful during the times you do hook. The example with thrilling is that it has a cooldown for one so isn't up all the time, and I can activate it just by picking up. If I want I can immediately drop a surv and cage them if I want.
I also don't always cage. I try to use it wisely. Sometimes a hook is so close, just use it. Or caging them would basically teleport them the the survs. Sometimes I want them to just stay tormented because it makes them easier to track and I can mori them on death hook.
These are basically my thoughts. Glhf!

Question how does being tormented make them easier to track if you mind me asking? An yeah I recently learned my usual hook setup isn't working the best for him because his cage counter.

Depends on the map but 9/10 you will trail T L walls, Inside Shack and out to either force torment or make them leave, strong pallets, long corridors and doorways, around the mounds where a hook usually sits on top if a survivor is chilling on there, Drop down locations such as Hawkins or Midwitch. You can't trail on stairs or in the dungeon so don't bother with that.
Hex:Plaything is fun on him and itself is a decent time waster for the afflicted survivor, if they're not paying attention you can snipe them on a gen or even grab them.
Thrilling Tremors i use a lot over BBQ for info if i feel like caging after dropping them.
Infectious Fright will help you determine to pick up / Cage or chase another, usually a bold one with a flashlight.
Pop / Ruin / Undying /Deadlock/ Corrupt - Meta i know but these all work on him well.
New hex bloodfavour might be ok, would need testing.

I'm planning to pass on Bloodfavour. I want them to drop pallets and think they're safe so i can Punish them.
