What new builds are you using to counter boon totems?
Aura reading and most hex perks are harder to use so what changes are you using?
Bbq isnt worth it just for the BP now stbfl takes that slot. Whispers and spies still work for tracking.
Corrupt is gen slowdown not tied to a hex.
Any other suggestions?

Lethal Pursuer is still just as strong as it was before, so I'm still going to be using that. Whispers has always been excellent tracking so that'll probably replace BBQ.
As for countering boons themselves, Thrill works pretty well if you're proactive about patrolling totem spots, and any instadown/chase tool helps to counteract their benefits. Sloppy Butcher is decent ish, moreso for tracking in Shadow Step's radius than for its meagre slowdown, but it's got something.

My loadout is 3 perks that completely counter boon totems.
1: play
2: something
3: else
:p

Plague with thana corrupt pop oppression/discordance and seal add-ons.

Anything but hexes..

If you wanted a pure anti boon perk build without any other benefits i guess toth+undying+haunted grounds+ a Fourth hex to block all totems could work. Thrill for the time increase plus aura reading from undying should help protecting totems and the other two are just there to make all totems into hexed ones for the additional 10 seconds to bless.
Again only to work against boons. So it is trash for anything else, like gens or even against anti totem itself.

TOTH has potential

Last night my builds were the following and I had great success outside of the crashes.
Blight - Undying, Ruin, Blood Favor, BBQ. The 3 hexes allow me to keep track of those 3 and Undying help with the 2 remaining dulls. Blood Favor allows for fast downs until cleansed (which only happened once).
Trickster - the DC king last night with Blood Favor, Bamboozle, Enduring, Corrupt. Had 3 hooks before my tier 2 corrupt was over, Blood Favor was god-tier on Hawkins. 3 eventually DC I gave my boo Nancy hatch.

Legion with Ruin, Thrill of the hunt, Devour hope, Undying
Use your power to check totems time to time, so they can't bless it in time
Or just play Plague with whatever you want.

Only if you make a build like i proposed above you, I think.
And that would be useless against anything but boons, without for example a specific 4th hex like ruin.

Maybe but most of the times even that gets cleaned or booned quite early in the game and then you are 3 perkless.. 2 if you used corrupted at the beginning.

this is probably not a good suggestion but you could run a full hex build. it takes 36 seconds to bless a hex totem with TOTH.

survivor with double blue totem perks
turning a hostile mechanic into a benevolent one is the ultimate counterplay
1 -
That's what I posted above, like i said 😅.
1. Thrill: for the time increase
2. Undying for the aura reading (as this is the only remaining form of direct totem protection with thrills noice notification gone)
3. Haunted grounds: to hex 2 totems at once
4. Some other hex perk but most probably ruin or noed
But like i already said, this build would only help in wasting time IN CASE one or multiple survivor have boon perks. Outside of that only the 4th perk or hg might be of any use.
Edit:
Nevermind my point about undying. I forgot that they changed the aura reading to be exclusive for dull totems. 😓

ruin/undying/haunted/thrill actually sounds like a decent build. why not give it a try for a game or two?

I'll continue playing survivor until I work up the will to uninstall the game. Hopefully I'll find a healthier addiction.

Thanks for contributing nothing to the conversation

I'll just run thrill that will work fine hopefully

It likely won't do that much on its own, but if you patrol it and other totem spawns you know of, you'll have more time to interrupt them.

I don't really play anymore and the last time I ran a full hex build on my hag (since I don't have much else on her) it took the survivor less than 2 minutes for all 4.
But i am also one of the so called "friendly/fair" killer player and only aim for my bbq hooks with 0 kills.

I contributed humor :)

Yeah it seems thrill and whispers has helped out more thanks 😊
Yeah lethal is a good suggestion but I feel if I use corrupt at the same time I am down 2 perks for the rest of the match.

Yeah, it's a case of if you want to know for sure where they are, or if you want to slow them down at the start- I don't know that I'd advise running both.

Thats easy i Play Back 4 Blood at the moment xD

For my main build I'll probably use Whispers, Dying Light, Thanatophobia/Corrupt Intervention, and STBFL.
For Pig I'll probably use Corrupt Intervention, Whispers, STBFL, and Dying Light.
For Plague I'll probably use Thanatophobia, Dying Light, Whispers, and Blood Echo.

Im not even using gen perks anymore, they waste so much time doing boons it is free slowdown. I've been having a blast.

Ive been playing lots too, who is your favorite cleaner?
0 -
I have two Hoffman(PvP) and Karlee(Story Mode) ;)
And yours? oh and do you play more PvP or PvE
0 -
I enjoy the PvE more but I really enjoy Swarm mode. I've been playing doc with a medic deck but Jim is probably my favorite cleaner, I love a precision damage build.

I second that...game is basically a spiritual sequel to left 4 dead😇

Yeah I find a haunted grounds undying corrupt and whispers/stbfl/Franklin's demise has been working well

Retribution+Haunted+Nurse or Spirit

My go to build lately is a late game build.
Boon totems are just a help to get a slight slow down from the gen rush with a late game build... I'm just in love with it.
More soon™

What do you run for your other 2 perks?😊
0 -
I actually don’t play them much but something I came up with. Another idea is run instant killers having huge success with Billy and Oni. Or Plague and Legion
0 -
The "tunnel Mikaelas to death" build
2 -
I've been having great fun with Retribution + Plaything which really helps counter boon totems since it'll block a totem spawn for 90 seconds and then you get another 24 seconds on top of that because normally they'll get blessed instead of broken right now. Plus, 75 seconds of aura reading is insane when you get 100% value.

Just play survivor and clap killer's cheeks
0 -
I go up to it, and I press the button that allows me to destroy it.
0 -
Only if they are clap worthy🤣
0 -
Thanks for the suggestion...going 2 try it out😊

Just play an instadown killer and learn to not need scratch marks at most loops.

It's such a crock how they deliberately nerfed TOTH & Undying to boost the power of Boon Totems. As if giving three survivors 2 free perks (infinite Distortion and Lucky Break) plus a free infinite medkit for zero effort or investment isn't insanely unbalanced already...

I might run
Sloppy/ Corrupt/ NWO/ Whispers
Sloppy to make healing harder
Corrupt to have the Survivors either come closer or waste time doing nothing
NWO for a longer end game
Whispers for tracking
Or I might run
Sloppy/ Coulrophobia/ Surveillance/ Whispers
Sloppy and Coulrophobia for harder healing in my TR
Surveillance to hear a Gen that is being worked on farther away
Whispers for tracking
Now Killers on the other hand are a toss (I do want to try out Spirit) Maybe Pig since I have almost all of the perks on her
I won't be running any Hexes since they are the first to go unless it's Hunted Grounds and Retribution and maybe Ruin so Survivors trigger the other two
0 -
Sloppy seems to be pretty servicable against the healing boon since you can only heal yourself at normal speed (without medkits). So as long as I keep smacking them with the sloppy and they keep running back to the totem to heal themselves then they're just wasting their own time.

Plague with Thana, Dying LIght, Ruin and Hysteria. It's a delicious build.
1 -
The only thing I've changed since the release is I won't run ruin most games since it will get removed more likely with boon players hunting for totems.
Otherwise I couldn't care less they use boon perks, it gives me free knowledge as to where injured survivors will likely head to.
0 -
Right now I've been finding some success with Undying Retribution on Blight, my other two perks being Shadowborn and some other perk for fun like Third Seal or Infectious.
0 -
The sounds they make are actually loud... so just just notice where they go to heal/when the scratch marks disappear and look/listen for the Totem
But killing the Boon perk just means they can replace it either in a different spot or the same spot
So running 2 hexes plus Hunted Grounds and Undying gives coverage to all Totems (use the aura reading on Undying)... then go to work
0 -
99% of the times when my hex gets cleaned im busy in a chase or hooking someone. I just rather use perks that arent as risky now.
1 -
You could run hex plaything to scout out where the totems are ahead of time so you know where to go later to snuff them out.
