So Soul Guard activates with boons...
Just played a game and to my surprise a survivor was able to use Soul Guard in combo with a boon to pick themselves up. This seems quite op to me. And besides Soul Guard states that it works when under the curse of a hex. That's counter what boons are anyhow.

That’s kinda dumb tbh. The whole point of soul guard was the risk reward and now it’s 100% reward

Just don't slug

Yep just lose your snowball 4head and lose the game
also you’re forgetting the boon perk that gets slugs up in 8 seconds

Nah, I think I will still slug.

Well then do bones

No hex perk or unbreakable in play?
Then it should be a bug, at least I hope

Just don't get downed

I don't complain when I get downed

What the unsnuffable ones?

Uh oh.

This must be a bug. If this is new feature than that perk is broken.

What unsnuffable ones? It takes killers like 1 second to get rid of them and it takes the survivors 16 seconds + the normal recovery time to get back up from downed. That's only if the killer is tunnel visioning so hard they ignore the boons.

I was talking about the spots killers can’t snuff at the moment. Anyway this isn’t a discussion about boons it’s about the fact that should guard works with them and renders the downside of soul guard obsolete

What downside of Soul Guard? It still works without hexes anyway the unbreakable effect is just a bonus. It's probably a bug anyway or the OP didn't realize they also had unbreakable or didn't know the SG effect still happens without a hex.

Oh, so there was hex that OP just didn't know about, alright.

It may take a second to snuff out the totem but locating the totem is the main time sink. So a killer could spend 5-6 seconds to find the nearby boon meaning the rest of the survivors had a free 15-18 seconds. And honestly that's a low ball number if you down the survivor close to the totem since they do have 24m range.
16 seconds isn't really much in the long run considering survivors can rebless a totem you already snuffed out and survivors will often get back more time for you snuffing them out. And if you want to go hunting for boons pre-emptively well you are giving 4 survivors a lot of free time.

It’s main effect is being able to pick yourself up with a hex active. This is risky since most hexes are strong but if you have a boon that risk is nullified and you still get the full reward

No the main effect of SG is the endurance status effect after recovering. Unbreakable already exists which is SG's bonus effect. In the description the endurance status effect even comes first and the perk is called "soul GUARD". It's main purpose and what makes it different from unbreakable is the endurance status effect because that isn't even reliant on a hex, the hex part is just a bonus effect.

I had no hexes. I downed the player in the vicinity of a boon. Slugged the player to down another nearby survivor. Just as I returned to the first player they picked themselves up off the ground right in front of me. I hit them and Soul Guard endurance activated. After the game I checked and they did NOT have unbreakable. Perhaps a bug, perhaps not. But those were the order of events.

I don't want to be pessimistic, but it could also be a cheat.
I've seen a clip of a survivor who used inner strength despite not having the perk equipped.
