Why did BHVR let another game do a better DBD event

This in the eyes of a business just seems so silly lol. Why would you let another game do such an ambitious and creative event using your own character, promoting your game, and then do a boring nothing new event lol. This is easily the least creative event, now letting us at least earn two skins...through the battle pass :/ What is the driving force to play this event over other game's halloween events (which have been going on for a week or two already now, and give way more content even in cases of overwatch that just repeat content lol)

...Because that's a first contact crossover event with more impact than a seasonal event?

I've never understood the idea that seasonal events should always be the most creative and innovative things ever, surely that'd get impossible to maintain very very quickly.

Sure it would be impossible to maintain, but if they just copy and paste the same event as the first Halloween event they did where you harvest pustula to earn skins, I am sure it would be enjoyed exponential more. Even then, the devs said they stopped doing other events in return for making the halloween event and the anniversary skin way better, and we got even less this year lol other games again still repeat the event but atleast give us a lot of new skins and challenges that can be earned in a lot of cases. In the event of the collab, dbd only made a charm.

we'll you'd expect a horror to at least go big or go home for halloween. When non horror games do better halloween events than an actual horror game, that's more than disappointing.

That is exactly what I was thinking, and again not to mention the fact that DBD said they aren't doing other events people loved because they were gonna work harder on Halloween and Anniversary events.

For Honor, it is a hard game but it seems like every popular big game right now is doing a better halloween event than the horror game.

DBD had no expectation to even do the charm, DBD crossovers never go both ways and it's ludicrous to be mad this one didn't either. To the other points- sure, maybe, and I'd understand generally lamenting that they aren't doing more than they are, but this is a pretty decent Halloween event. You've got seasonal changes to the map (including new things to interact with), you've got the returning event items, they brought back the Blight Serum, and they've added a smaller rift with challenges for bloodpoints and new cosmetics. This is a perfectly adequate event, it's not lacklustre in the slightest.

Can't argue with that one, though. I wouldn't say "more than" disappointing, but it is a *little* disappointing.

I agree and you are right, they did do all those things. The point is, they have done exponentially more in the past, even while also doing the summer event. How come we are losing content and promised bigger content on the other events, and then we are getting less. The seasonal changes to the map in the past always looked fantastic, not just a couple pumpkins. Everything else is either returning or copy paste stuff from last events like items or offerings, and again, this isn't really an adequate or amazing event if the game has given way better event. Other games that just do the same thing every year at least don't disappoint because we know exactly what is coming, plus new skins and challenges. With DBD we are getting less and less. Maybe if you ignore all other games doing large events right now, ones that have already been going on for a week or two, DBD's event doesn't seem horrible and it seems adequate, but when you compare the HORROR game to other games doing way more creative events, even just repeating events, it is sad to see.

Seasonal events always should start to ramp down, though, because otherwise it gets unmanageable on top of maintaining and expanding the actual game year-round. I saw this with other games too, people act this way any time devs don't pull out all the stops for a repeated event- it's just silly.

That being said, I would personally want to see the Halloween event get the most focus, even after it's started to ramp down, since DBD is a game paying homage and tribute to horror aesthetics.

I agree but AGAIN, DBD literally said they aren't doing other events because they are focusing fully on Halloween and Anniversary events, and AGAIN, we are getting less this event than we ever have. It is fine to ramp down events, but I guarantee it is easier to just copy paste an event like other games are doing and instead focusing on skins and challenges, while DBD (the game who said they were going to put more work into halloween events) gave us an event with the least amount of new stuff we have gotten yet. My point is they could have just copy and pasted the first halloween event, and it would be more than we have now. We are actively getting less for an event that was promised more. If the event is like this, why are we losing out on events like the summer one?

Obviously I don't have an answer for that, but I do get where you're coming from. Fair point there!

Thank you, I am fine with the event this year, it is ok, but I've been playing for over 4 years now and even though we are promised more and lost other events for these ones, we are getting less than we have gotten. I really do not get it. We also are only getting 2 blighted skins, a nemesis and a pyramid head one. Not even blighted skins for OG killers.
