Favorite Off-Meta Survivor Builds?
Recently I've been running with WGLF/Aftercare/Flashbang/Headon and I have to say that aftercare is such a slept-on perk, especially for solo players. The amount of additional coordination it lends your team, it's like practically giving your teammates 5 perks. I love it!
Any particular builds or perks that just sit in your list of 'gotta haves, no matter the meta'?

I basically always have to use Alert and Bond. Alert is so useful for staying out of a chase and bond is amazing for not forcing one of your teammates into one if you are getting chased

for staying out of a chase
Don't do that. You'll never improve that way. That's a common mistake beginner do. You'll MMR yourself into games where you just M1 on gens and than die in 10 second chases. Zero fun in that. I did that too, but than listened to streamer advice and forced myself out of my comfort zone and into chases. You'll be able to turn your matches into fun entertainment instead of a chore.

Diversion and deception are fun when you get to see the killer look around an area all confused and opening lockers

I was leveling up Yui recently and I have to say that I'm finding Any Means Necessary functions similarly to bond now with the buff with the added function of being able to reset pallets. While working on generators you can see the pallets falling down as the person's getting chased and have a pretty decent, or as much as Alert would have given you, sort of idea of where the chases are happening.

Here's some ideas which, whilst not maybe great, are very focused on particular playstyles; avoiding meta builds where possible:
Survivor:
A build to hurry up healing actions, so that people can get stuck back into the game, as well as to help others get you back in.
Resurgence; We'll Make It; Desperate Measures; Leader
A build that aims to protect against the killer damaging gens and wasting their time, as well as monitoring the overall situation and distracting them.
Repressed Alliance; Rookie Spirit; Boon: Shadow Step; Diversion
A build that aims to keep supplies plentiful, as well as to get the best possible chance of covering other tasks.
Built To Last; Technician; Appraisal; Botany Knowledge
Killer:
A build which uses stealth and decisive action to take out unsuspecting survivors and keep them on edge.
Trail Of Torment; Dragon's Grip; Deathbound; Make Your Choice
A build that punishes the injured and causes panic and confusion. Mainly aimed at those who prefer to do gens over all else.
Hysteria; Blood Echo; Bloodhound; Mindbreaker
A build which looks at restricting survivor options as tightly as possible, forcing them to take longer escaping, and easier to catch.
Hex: Crowd Control; Cruel Limits; Deadlock; No Way Out

people have fun stealthing...

Anything involving Quick and Quiet and Dance With Me.
It never gets old being in chase and suddenly POOF I'm gone.
I just wish I could run it more often... I don't solo queue Survivor and I'm my SWF's dedicated looper. So... disappearing mid chase isn't really a good thing for the team.

Spine chill, Stake Out, SB, and BT. Covers my grounds so I can adept in most situations!

I love using Open-Handed to enhance aura-reading perks like Bond and Kindred (it also works with Detective's Hunch, Windows of Opportunity, Visionary, and some others).

Ohh, don't get me wrong, I don't dispute that. If you don't care about BP and your team, that's fine. There is entire BP category for being chased. And it also helps your team when you can take agro and spread hook states. And good luck if you get any killer with location ability, like legion or doctor.

Currently I've been using:
Small Game.
Prove Thy Self.
Kindred.
BT.

plunderer's/appraisal/ace in the hole/open handed
at least for me anyway this was meta until hatch got destroyed, but still quite fun to be a loot gremlin + see people's reactions when i manage to get them the hell off a chest and they see what kind of stuff i pull, + anyone happening to run kindred gets an insane 32m killer aura read
if only appraisal showed aura of open chests like plunderer's does..

Stealthing correctly is a viable playstyle so much so you see it in comp play. Stealthing is worth it when the killer is actively looking for you. The second the killer stops looking for you you need to start being productive again. I'm fine with stealthing teammates when they do that. It wastes time. Not as much as a chase but they can stealth around a gen and then get right back on it minimizing regression on the gen. Which is worth it.

Plunder's Instinct and Ace in the hole. Basically Lootboxes but without the money.

Oh yeah that new ace in the hole buff for keeping add-ons is extra good too. You can harvest a decent collection of items on a survivor you don't happen to be leveling for example.
0 -
it's not a buff
survivors used to keep their addons if they got out, in 3.6.0 this was changed to where items wouldn't delete themselves upon hitting 0 charges + addons were always consumed and not having them consumed was rolled into ace in the hole
..and now it feels like that addons take up so many spaces in webs that 9/10 things i get item-wise are addons and hardly any actual items

Fixated, Sprint Burst, Iron Will, insert last perk of choice.

wha..
not sure if off-meta means 'not [exhaustion]/borrowed time/ds/unbreakable'
'least i'm like 95% sure it doesn't
either way fixated is like a better urban evasion vs a bunch of killers

Flip-flop unbreakable tenacity power struggle

I've been using Smash hit and Any means Necessary. I stun the killer with the pallet, they continue to chase after me, reset it later. Profit.
0 -
In all fairness I just use Iron Will so I can walk around corners and confuse Killers, if they changed it so it only works when not running I would still use it lol
0 -
ye but it's pretty much the most meta thing right after the exhaustion perk trinity and holy trinity of ds/bt/ub so unless your 4th perk was something screwy your off-meta would be 3/4 meta

I used to play autodidact and solidarity but autodidact is inefficient most of the time. They need to buff so you like a 20% more chance to get a skillcheck while healing
0 -
I reckon Vigil, Windows, Breakdown, Babysitter are my fave off meta survivor perks
Dance with me + Quick n quiet + Deception when I wanna try and be cheeky in chase but usually fail at it lol
0 -
still rng, but if you cut some of the rng it's an obscene perk strangely
picture one that insta-skillchecked you every time you healed someone, resetting the next time they took a hit
so you're guaranteed at least one skillcheck per heal but usually more
even if this effect didn't exist at 5 stacks it would majorly amp its consistency of gaining them

pebble urban evasion iron will spine chill with a dusty noose

It's usually WGLF or something like Detectives Hunch lol

Empathy, Kindred, We'll Make it, we're gonna live forever
This isn't a set-in-stone build but I am definitely the person you want to see coming to the rescue. I could use BT but honestly, with Kindred, I rarely have to unhook in the killer's face.
Empathy - Not only does it show me who's injured when I still have decent time left on We'll make it, it roughly tells me the killer's position when they are in a chase.
Kindred - We all love to see this one in game
We'll make it. - You're safely off the hook and healed in a few seconds...what's not to love, then you have a good few seconds left to go heal up anyone else injured super fast.
WGLF - Honestly, I used to slap this on for BP gain, but given its change, it's excellent in getting those slugged players up and back in play. It's also an extra incentive to take those hits for teammates when needed.
I'll swap out Empathy or WGLF for something else every few games just to keep it interesting, but if you are a utility player it's a decent build that can have quite the effect on how a match goes.

There's a couple of meta perks in it but quick and quiet, dance with me, lithe, iron will

Totem Espionage:
Small Game
Iron Will
Urban Evasion
Spine Chill
The whole purpose of this is to just go completely unnoticed and break every damn totem you detect, it has been so fun and at my survivor MMR, half of the time we still get a good amount of gens done, it's dumb fun that I can't get tired of

You know this build brings to mind those hilarious stealth moments in skyrim when you played an archer. One dude asking 'what was that?' with an arrow stuck in his forehead. It often feels like that when i play perks like this and i just managed to squeak into a hiding spot and the killer is looking for the scoundrel who broke his bones.
Killer: Who keeps breaking my totems?!
Survivor: * Snickering in a corner 2 feet away*
Killer: Must have been the wind.....

You may be a casual player, and if you are disregard that message, but if your trying to stay out of chase your not having fun if your fun is to hold m1 (or co responding button on console) for 80 seconds at a time dbd ain't for you
