First time Shrine perks don't give more points anymore?
Pretty sure Starstruck and Self-Preservation were never in the shrine before (I even checked the wiki, and apparently it's both their first time) and yet they're both 2,000 shards for 150,000 points rather than the 2,700 for 250,000.
Did they change how the shrine bloodpoints rewards when you already unlocked the perk?

If the chapter they're from is not part of the 3 most recent ones, they will be at the regular price.

Thought it was within the last year.
Either way, it is from 2 chapters ago.
But a friend's hypothesis is since they're both part of the rift challenges, they decided to put them at the regular price to make them more affordable for people who didn't buy the chapter.

Since the Trickster chapter, we've had RE, Hellraiser and now Mikaela. As far as the game is concerned, those are 3 chapters, making Trickster's perks be from 4 chapters ago.
It's working as intended.

Wouldn't really count Mikaela as a chapter but sure.

As far as the logic governing the shrine of secrets is concerned, it is.

Still think it's bullshit, but oh well.

Look, I gave you the explanation of how the current shrine works and no amount of calling it bullshit or disagreeing with how it's coded will change anything about it.
Neither will anything change the fact that even though Mikaela is a half-chapter, the shrine doesn't care if a dlc is a full or a half-chapter now. If internally, it's its own data structure, it's considered its own dlc by the shrine logic.
The shrine no longer works how you remember it working and hasn't done so for quite some time now.

I do agree that having one new killer or survivor and calling it a chapter does feel pretty weak. it's not the first time they've done it.
Leather face.
Ash
Ghostface
Hellraiser
Current.

No need to get all defensive. I understand it's changed since I started playing and wasn't aware, I still think it's bullshit to consider mid-chapters as chapters when it comes to the shrine, seeing how rarely stuff shows up on there within the year of it's release, often perks show up past the year mark.

If they are on the shrine for the first time they are more expensive and give more bloodpoints
this is likely an exception to the rule since the tomes force the appearance of perks related to challenges and upcoming challenges, and such they are probably discounted to the price as if they had appeared before and give the equivalent amount of bp for the 2000 shards on twitter you can see that the prices were labeled at both 2700 but ingame currently they are 2000

That's a different discussion altogether, which your thread wasn't about.
You wanted to know why those perks weren't more expensive despite showing up for the first time and that's the explanation.
