BossProtocols Twitter Seems Oddly Suspicious.
Let me preface this by saying, I am in no way trying to slander anybody. However, I am raising genuine concerns over the legitimacy of BossProtocol and would like people to consider what I have to say and draw their own conclusions.
I've noticed over the last two to three days, BossProtocol has skyrocketed in Twitter followers, from a mere few hundred to several thousand. Today along they have gained almost 2000 followers. I find this very suspicious how they gained so many followers despite receiving so much negative feedback from the single community they promoted themselves to.
Upon taking a look at the followers, there was a very clear trend between almost all of them. Many were from regions outside of the west, along with having extraordinarily similar naming convention and profile pictures. Further inspection of these profiles showed they almost exclusively follow NFT and Cryptocurrency related accounts. None of them followed Dead By Daylight nor any other gaming companies twitter.
I find it very odd how a demographic outside of both where BossProtocol has advertised themselves and video games. Have all collectively found and followed them, despite the fact the tweets from BossProtocol have very few likes, shares and retweets.
Upon joining their discord server I also took notice of how I couldn't find anybody from a seemingly similar demographic, given so many follow them on twitter it would be sage to assume they may do so on discord, but I found no such implications.
What I find more interesting is how BossProtocol despite having almost 6000 followers still has like I just mentioned. Very few likes, shares and retweets. So all these supposed followers dont seem to recognise their (BossProtocols) existence.
I would implore those who read this to please check anything I've said and feel free to draw your own conclusions. I am not here to incite controversy or slander. I again, am merely raising my concerns. Take what I say with a grain of salt, but do be considerate as everything I have said can be validated.
TL;DR: BossProtocol had a surge of followers from a completely unrelated demographic with no relation to games or DBD, and yet they still receive very little attention on their tweets. I struggle to trust a company that has seemingly bought followers, despite claiming to be legitimate.

When people first found out about the partnership with DBD their Twitter only had like 30 followers. I think Paulie Esther's first video shows the actual count but it was loooow. All the followers that weren't Paulie (he started following when he made that video) were crypto people.

I've not seen the video, I'll have to look for it, unless you happen to have a link?

Bhbr been scammed ? Could be fun.

I'm not saying they have. But I would just caution them based on my own personal opinion I've drawn from what I said. Again, I'm not trying to out them as scammers. Just asking people to be cautious

Fair enough !
To me, any bought viewer / follower is sign of scam. Underserved rush for a quick buck... Oh wait, thats the definition of NFT !

Lets try not get into that, as much as I'd like to, it's not the purpose of this thread. However I will say given the reports I've heard of NFTs from other companies and artists being used in scam plots, it does raise some more concern to consider.

All of their marketing was trying to appeal to horror fans. After all, you only have a "chance" to get the Hellraiser chapter.
If it were for gamers, they wouldn't use marketing buzzwords like "in the hit game dead by daylight!" I can't imagine a horror fan gamer who doesnt know dbd. It's not exactly small. Lol
At least IMO, it hit me as a huge horror fan and the gaming stuff was tacked on. Honestly I think the only reason BHVR decided to join in was because they wanted to pimp their game to non-gamers.

my understanding is yes they seem to be marketing toward horror fans, however as far as I know, they've only advertised themselves to Dead By Daylights community, given the connection between them and BHVR obviously.

That's a good point. I haven't looked around at other areas. When I was doing research on this stuff I was reading the nft subreddits and no one there seemed to care much. I didn't check into any of the horror or Hellraiser subs.
I'm also starting to wonder if this is going to eventually end up like the recent YA author NFT debacle. Well, this one has lasted more than 5 hours tho. 🙄
1 -
may I ask what the YA NFT thing is? And how this may end up similar? I'm curious.

I'm not sure what I am and am not allowed to link since, you know, jail, but if you Google realms of ruin nft, you'll find the news articles. 3 or 4 YA authors were trying to start an NFT that would have you purchase so you could "own" part of the story. I think it was you could buy a character and you would dictate how that characters story went. Or something like that. And the entire YA community freaked out.
From googling all the nft stuff here, now I'm getting nft articles lol

I'll be sure to check it out, thanks!

Inb4 it's another evil ape situation

They're most likely fans of crypto & NFT's.
I clicked on multiple accounts, I scrolled down, and YEP! Crypto, NFT retweets, and all that money wasting stuff! :)
So yeah, it's people who are fans of THAT stuff.
But I still want to believe they're bots.
2 -
I'm pretty sure they are bots
There's tons of crypto bots on Twitter
Like no joke if you mention the words nft and crypto you used to get 5+ bot follows and replies

I hope boss Protocol gets a virus and loses everything then gets arrested.
5 -
lets not get into that here please 😅

Honestly I hope it's another evil ape situation where the people who participated in it get screwed over
Like it would be hilarious if the people who hold the hellraiser ip gets screwed over
2 -
Just stating my piece. If people willingly sought out a career that screws people over than I just have no respect for them. While my take on this is very hostile, it's definitely just.

B R U H
No wonder there's like 5K likes 20K retweets on very god DAMN crypto giveaway.

I mean the people who participate and buy nfts tend to make themselves look like morons whenever they try and defend nfts
6 -
Again Don't be surprised if this happens again
5 -
Also reminder that Pic crew is free
Most of these nfts are just ugly Pic crews that you can't even customize yourselves

Like I don't get how nft's took off its a blatant and obvious ponzi scheme
