Worst horror films you've ever seen

When I mean worst, I don't mean "so bad that they're good" as in films that are guilty pleasures (some of mine include Jaws: The Revenge and Jason Takes Manhattan).

I mean film which you watched and thought were genuinely BAD. Like "How did this get made? Where is the charm? Just...WHY?". Of course, it's all down to the opinion of the individual.

Here's a few to start out:

FearDotCom: Quite possibly the worst film I have ever seen. Absolutely awful.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation: This was appalling. I had a late night head/ear/eyeache/ after this.

Surrounded: Crappy shark films are commonplace these days, but this was especially bad. Everything about it. Startling.

I forgot the name, but there was this one Indonesian horror movie I watched where the premise is that everytime you pray you'll have someone praying alongside you. Because it was based on the belief that no one should pray alone and should always have someone besides them...?

It's just ######### stupid, it's mostly filled with jumpscaers too.

Uh I saw this one film about this artist who moves into a super cheap apartment and it has a talking glory hole who has a very sultry voice. Hilarity ensues

I know you said not to include movies so bad that they're good, but I feel like this one's so hit or miss with most people that it *might* be just bad in your eyes. If not, well, hopefully you unfortunately enjoy it..?

    Anyway, check out Thankskilling:

    "Dreamcatcher"

The monster is - in the movie's own words - "shitweasles." Based on a Stephen King book, the movie has all tired King tropes of "group of childhood friends," "disabled person with a magic power," and "an ending that falls apart faster than a paperbag in a rainstorm." It's ATROCIOUS and by a wide margin, the worst horror movie I've ever seen.

    Velvet Buzzsaw.

    The VVitch.

    Midsommar.

Holy god I just wish "artsy" people would stay away from horror. There's slow burns, then there's literally nothing happening for an hour. "Unsettling atmosphere" is part of the setting, it shouldn't be considered the entire plot for a movie.

You do not know the meaning of the word "worst", until you have sat through an entire Uwe Bohl film.

As Pinhead says: "We have such sights to show you!"

Here are some gems instead. "The sentinal" "Phantasm 1 2 and 3"

I've only seen the first Phantasm and I must say I find that film vastly overrated. I can't believe it spawned so many sequels.

I saw The Sentinal years ago. Quite wacky, if I recall.

Controversial take, but I feel like all the Saw movies are pretty far-fetched.

I ran a D&D session that was Saw "inspired". the party just straight up went around the traps by doing stuff like jamming steel pipes into gears.

    pretty funny stuff, actually.

I know I've watched alot of bad horror that I've blocked out of my memory until someone brings it up and I'm like "oh I hated it, it was so bad" 😂

Alot of the remakes are just obvious money grabs and terrible to me. Like they missed what made the originals good, the remove good things and add in unnecessary stuff that make no sense.

The VVitch - was waiting the entire movie for something to happen.

Gretel and Hansel - it took me multiple sittings to get through this because I kept falling asleep from boredom. 😂

I am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House - another one where you're just waiting the entire movie for something, anything, to happen.

    Grizzly Rage

    Hellraiser: Revelations

These are two of the worst movies ever made. There are no redeeming qualities. There's nothing funny about them. They're just bad: poorly written, poorly acted, poorly made, and absolutely boring.

Before those two movies, the worst horror movie I'd ever seen was The Item (1999). However, someone may get a couple laughs out of that one.

Yeah, FearDotCom was pretty godawful! I don’t know if it’s literally the worst I’ve ever seen but it’s the worst I can think of off the top of my head.

1991's dead space. By far the most ridiculously terrible horror movie i have ever seen. Funny that one of the best horror GAMES of all time was made with the same name.

    28 Weeks Later!

If I could refund any hours from my life, it would be the ones spent watching this awful film. The conflicts in the plot were just beyond stupid and were easily avoidable. The soundtrack was way too repetitive and got annoying fast. Most of the time, you'll be questioning the decisions made by the director and how stupid the characters were in the film. For a zombie film, this needs to be burned and buried somewhere where no one can find it.

The only, AND ONLY thing I'd say I could appreciate was the camera work. The reason why I kept watching was to see how such a poorly written film was going to end. Don't bother watching this film, I repeat, DON'T WATCH IT!

Ok, its not a horror movie, but its so bad I need to share it:

The movie is called The Conquerer and it is the epitome of a train wreck:

So its about the mongol empire, notably under the rule of Genghis Khan, but, for some reason hollywood decided that for some reason Genghis should be played by John Wayne. Also, they had an Irish woman playing as a mongolian, also the area they recorded in was a desert, instead of steppe.

Almost everything was historically inacuratte, and was definitly made to appease western culture.

If it couldnt get any worse, the movie was filmed downwind of a nuclear test facility, and most people involved in the show died of cancer.
