Most survivors can’t play without dead hard
This is my personal opinion, but I think without Deadhard many survivors are just not that great.
If you mind game them they just have to press a button and they get away from being downed.
This is not just hurts the killer at that moment, but also limit the number of pallett drops, which means the survivors have more resources during the trial.
Based on my observation at least there 3-4 deadhards per game.
Many people says that you can trick them to use DH, which is true when you are on the open, but at a jungle gym it won’t help.

I don't really look at other's perks but I know dead hard and exhaustion in general have an extremely high usage rate. However, you can't just put all players in a sack. For example, I barely use exhaustion perks and I'm sure there's people like me

Many Killers are just not that great when they are without gen regression perks. Using these perks prolongs the game.
Many Survivors are just not that great without Items to enhance their plays. Using these items shortens the game.
Many Killers are just not that great when they are without tracking perks. Using these perks aids finding Survivors easier with little to no effort.

I didn't use it either, but once I started to, I did A LOT better. And that was before they added survivor validation attributes to it.

Ah yes. The classic "BOTH SIDES!!!" argument. Pointless and ineloquent.
It's not equivalent because dead hard is in nearly every game and when it's not, you still have to behave as though it is. Killer perks have obvious tells. You don't know whether a survivor has dead hard until they use it to extend a chase. Even when it's not in the game you have to assume they do have it and behave accordingly because it is so powerful.

Same goes for killers who use slow down perks. Since that's clearly the logic the OP is following.

Ranks don't exist anymore and grades don't matter. We go off the MMR system. The grades just designate how many wins you accrued with no deduction through losses that grants you bonus BP at the end of the "season".

There's a lot of survivor features that are whack by default, DH being one , nice try though, this is coming from a killer who doesn't rely on regression perks as you say

I have played maybe 5 matches with Dead Hard in my 1.5k hours played, didn't enjoy it. I know how capable I am in chase and feel that i don't need it.
To be honest when I see a survivor use it i generally just think that they aren't good at looping cause if they were they wouldn't need it.
Pretty much the only exhaustion perk I use is smash hit cause it's so unexpected.

As soon as a survivor uses dead hard you know they have it. All you have to do is bait them to use it after that. To be honest you could even bait it before you know about it, to check for it.
It's not that hard to outplay it and if it is influencing a killer's games that much then maybe the killer is not very good.

It is hard to outplay. If it weren't effective, 3/4 survivors in every lobby I play would not run it. Even if you know they have it, you still have to respect it. Lotta survivors know you're baiting it out and hold onto it.

There's also a lot of killer perks that are "whack" as you say. There are strong perks on both sides that can affect gameplay so this argument is kind of pointless.

You can't bait out deadhard for distance when near a pallet or a vault. Yeah it's easy to bait when you're in a deadzone but that's not where the power of the perk is, No-one is complaining about DH being used to actually dodge an attack,
I agree with the OP though, the moment I take off DH I am actually scared of the killer and any potential mind games since it does result in death.

What's telling about Rancor? You don't know that Rancor is being utilized until the last Gen pops. Until then, Killer gets knowledge of Survivor locations.
Bitter murmur? BBQ and Chili? I'm All Ears? Nothing states it unless you REALLY pay attention and even then, it's only a guess unless you have Distortion.
Bamboozle? You don't know whether a Killer has Bamboozle or not until they use it mid chase.
NOED? You won't know until the last gen pops.
Blood Warden? Won't know until someone is hooked when the Exit Gate is open.
Should I keep going or do you still think that it's "pointless and ineloquent"?

Well, why would survivors play without it? After it got buffed it's literally +1 free health state that regenerates every 40 seconds. It's the best survivor perk in the game now.

There's also a lot of Killer features that are also "whack" by default. Need I remind you that until recently, Dead Hard has been bugged the entire time and only worked half the time.

If you can't outplay jungle gyms then you may need to practice killer some more. There are ways and means around it. For example, forcing a survivor to run around it the wrong way greatly reduces its effectiveness and the time they can spend at it.

I haven't used Dead Hard in my main build in ages. Safe to say I don't fear the killer without it.

If you are the obsession you know the killer has rancor after the first gen pops because you see their aura too

Only two types of survivor's run dead hard, not good survivors and absolute try hards.

Rancor causes the affected survivor to see the killers' aura at the same time their aura is revealed to the killer. This is a rather obvious tell.
Bamboozle causes black mist to emanate from the vault location until it is approached. This is a tell without even approaching the location. Additionally an observant survivor will note the increased vault speed and alter their tactics accordingly.
As far as the other aura reading perks? Yes, you have to be observant. That's a central conceit of the game. If the killer beelines toward you post-hook or gen, you know what they're running. Utilize inference. It's not hard.
You can tell when a killer has noed active because they move faster. Look at them with your eyes.
In any case these things should not be equivalent. It is an asymmetrical game and expecting both sides to have identical standards is absurd. The killer has to identify dead hard four times. That's four mistakes. A survivor only has to identify the perk they're facing once.

And yet for ALL OF those perks I mentioned, they have to activate later down the road. You don't know until it is utilized. And as for Rancor, only the obsession knows, not the rest of the team until they get downed from being exposed. So like DEAD HARD, you don't know they have it until they utilize the effects. As for the aura reading perks, I'm made plenty of "beelines" for players without having such perks because I continue on with my gen patrols and happen to run into them. The point is moot.

Correct, but only the Obsession. And unless you're in a SWF, no one else knows until the last gen pops and they go down from the exposed status. Hell, the Obsession may not even know if the Killer is in the undetectable status.

Survivors didn't come up with dead hard and aren't in charge of balancing perks. The devs would be the ones to complain to. Unless someone thinks that if you tell survivors they can't play without their overpowered crutch perks enough times they'll collectively forego them out of some sense of honour?

am shock why sprint burst or adrenaline was not called out LOL speed burst + healthy state (best is when you get hook as last gate pop and you have sprint+adrenaline and your friend have borrow time.. now if that aint op and dead hard is ok.... Iitch when a killer miss a window punish only suffer a miss hit animation bounce but the survivor becomes miles away or smash hit not only killer gets stun by time your breaking pallet after stun that survivor is miles gone...umm every exhaustion perk then must be bad survivors that use them.

Never use dead hard, I'm on last gen console. Tried it once and it messed up my game lol. Nowhere near as good as SB + Vigil imo, once you get used to timing the exhaustion so you can recover it mid chase it's constant getaways

You have Noed, blood warden, No way out, and Light born. Bringing a cake doesn't mean shmt at that point. I don't know why killers think bringing offers to get more blood points would make survivors NOT run a perk to avoid getting hit, it actually kinda annoys me and half the time when a killer brings an offering; either they're planning to leave a sour taste in people's mouth or they're planning to farm. It's almost always the first option. Thanks for confirming it though.
Secondly. Factual. If DH is such a crutch perk, so is Ruin and NOED. But then here come the killers willing to defend such a controversial topic. You're getting defensive about a perk that shouldn't be nerfed but then want to rant and rave about a perk that SHOULD be nerfed. You all have your priorities twisted if this is what you think.
Just admit you want the game Killers to be Severely OP and move on already. Not that hard to say. 🤷

Dead hard is basically a worthless perk at this point, I really don't get why it is so hated.

Dead Hard have three problems.
- At least 2 survivors have it equiped only in the best case, but it's usually used by 3 or 4, dealing with 3 or 4 dead hards is what make this OP because you have a lot of survivors with second chances making the matches unbearable if the survivors are not braindead.
- It make you lose a won mindgame which was a guaranteed hook a lot of times just by pressing a button.
- It is used for extending a chase by reaching a window/pallet which was a guaranteed hook despite the perk is intended for dodging a hit, not for that.
To sumarize, it feels extremely unfair a lot of times and it's the most OP survivor perk since the DS nerf.

Yeah I remember how different it felt when I took off dead hard. It made so much of a difference that I just stopped using it, it is way too strong.
