So, any news from NFT?
I think that almost the majority of the PC community on Steam, has left a pretty negative review with the Pinhead DLC, until it is not seen much frequently in play anymore. Clearly I didn't want to get into the game anymore for this reason, but if there is news about something about this I might change my mind.

I haven’t heard anything

No update about the NFT.

People just forgot about it after a week lmao. This is why BHVR doesn't take us seriously.
9 -
No one forgot anything.
11 -
i did and i haven't heard anybody talk about it in awhile
when i saw this i was like oh yeah that's right dbd did a dumb ah whatever
3 -
That bad.

I heard from a friend of a friend’s uncle that BVHR are working on a nature themed NFT collection to help spread awareness of the environmental concerns.
I think it's a good move for damage control and will hopefully garner some good faith.
2 -
What more do you want? You want them to 💩 on the Hellraiser license owner and give up the Hellraiser license?
3 -
And if they were?
0 -
Steam doesn't care. Steam only would give a damn if the game itself implemented block chain. To which there are games on Steam today that do.
Still would like to know how you think BHVR should handle the situation further?
3 -
Ok, what does the fact the license owner losing their rights have to do with the posted topic?
Sould bhvr talk ######### about the owner in a month or so?
0 -
they showed off the NFTs on twitter and they looked absolutely awful. Otherwise nothing else has come of it unfortunately. Hoping once PAE lose the license that Clive Barker will strike a new license agreement with BHVR if they want to keep the rights. I doubt you'll hear anything about NFTs until at least December though. Praying BHVR will retract their stance on NFTs instead of promoting and endorsing them.
3 -
They promoted it because it was part of the contract. That is normal in business deals even if you disagree with it.
They already said they don't sell NFTs and DBD won't have them.
6 -
BP's twitter is dead and so is their Facebook. Seemingly no-one is supporting them apart from "entrepreneurs" trying to sell them tweets and marketing opportunities.
Still hope once Clive Barker gets Pinheads rights back BHVR can clean their hands a bit, but otherwise their official statement is the endorsement of an (incredibly tacky and poorly made) NFT.
3 -
it isn't about whether BHVR sell them or not, it's about the fact BHVR endorsed them, agreement or not they could have chosen to decline the deal. But instead they decided they want to help create and promote NFTs for a licence. BHVR has lost pretty much all their credit as a reputable company to a lot of people. Why? Because NFTs are ######### and BHVR never should have gotten involved. Have you seen the garbage they're going to be harming the environment for? and charging $250 for?
2 -
NFTs is a scam, boo hoo to those that buy into them. As for the enviroment impact, really? Bitcoin uses more power, by magnitudes, and is far more popular and widespred. How much power you think dedicated servers is wasting over P2P? Maybe we should go back to that. The enviroment angle is just another nail in the bat grievance artist are using right now.
Deal was we got Hellraiser. If players don't like it, stop asking for more licensed content.
3 -
I think BHVR strategy is actually to ######### up with bugs and problems so people forget the last one and focus on the new one lmao
1 -
"I didnt kill that guy, i just asked this person to do it" is basically the same.
Youre still guilty in the end.
And so BHVR "promoting it cause its in the contract" still makes them guilty of supporting NFT in the end, even if it isnt directly in the game
2 -
And I say so the ######### what?
You just equated killing a person to a digital scam.
You all don't seem to understand that they had to promote it or face a lawsuit in addition to losing the license. It was the price for Hellraiser. A franchise this community begged for. Anyone begging for license content is complicit in this.
As far as I'm concern, the community has no leg to stand on here. If BHVR brings NFTs to DBD then we have a valid concern. But that is not the case and doesn't seem to be the case going forward.
4 -
Yep. Well said.

All I see is aggression coming from you, maybe talk more calmly.
1 -
With this NFT bs, all I see is this:
Maybe others need to cool their heads.
2 -
They released a generic, quirky etsy girl and allowed people to kick pumpkins, afraid that's all it takes for all issues to go away.
2 -
These are the NFTs. Not sure if I'm allowed to paste this link here but, regardless, it's hilarious that this is what people would pay 280$ dolars for. So yeah, here's your NFT news.
0 -
Whether it was in the contract or not is rather irrelevant because BHVR willingly and (presumably) wittingly signed said contract, meaning they made the decision to do that.
As for your question of 'Do you want them to ######### on the license holders': Ultimately, yes. They should come forward and say that it was a mistake to engage with the NFT market, they should apologise for it, and promise to never promote NFTs again.
This whole situation would've been fine if not for those two tweets endorsing Boss Protocol. What BP does with the models and keys provided as part of the licensing deal is their business, but BHVR actively endorsing NFTs is where things crossed the line into being a problem.
2 -
The community didn’t know the Hellraiser license would only come with NFTs. And many people would have probably been okay with not having this specific license if they knew it would ######### up the planet like that.
you can’t blame the community for this after we have gotten all other licenses without NFT scum.
1 -
Yeah, if only NFTs weren't a thing the planet would br saved. Sorry, but its a drop in the bucket.
3 -
They promoted a business partner. This might surprise you, but sometimes businesses have go infront of the Press and shake hands even if they hate eachother.
Best you are going to get is that tweet saying no NFTs in DBD. If thats not enough then I suggest not supporting them further.
Not everyone shares this moral outrage some of you are displaying. I'm sure plenty would be upset if Hellraiser gets pulled less than year after release.
1 -
Yeah. That doesn’t give you the right to blame the community that is asking for licenses. You were also using unrelated arguments.
And it’s more than just a drop. And of course the is more and worse stuff. No one argued against that. Doesn’t mean NFTs have any right to exist in this form.
2 -
They promoted a business partner. This might surprise you, but sometimes businesses have go infront of the Press and shake hands even if they hate eachother.
Not in a completely voluntary contract. As people mentioned, the license is changing hands. If BHVR didn't actively -want- to take this contract, they could've negotiated with the Clive Barker estate in December, likely avoiding the whole mess. I don't know how you are coming up with the idea that BHVR is, in any way, forced to promote NFTs.
1 -
I blame the community for constantly wanting every IP under the horror genre. Every deal BHVR makes won't be one sided. There are things that license owners will want in return.
0 -
This is like that time the Overwatch devs blamed the community for Brigitte.
"You guys wanted a counter to mobility heroes!"
Yeah, but not a healing tank with a 200 damage burst arsenal, because that kills mobility heroes AND everything else.
Likewise, people wanted Pinhead, but not with NFTs attached.
1 -
But NFTs aren't attached. You bought the DLC through Steam, M$, Sony, or Nintendo. Nothing in DBD has NFTs attached to it. Furture skins, voice lines, none of it requires you to buy an NFT to have.
0 -
But it entailed BHVR making and endorsing NFTs. That's what people didn't want.
1 -
More of say they do not support the use of NFT's. Though I have no clue if that would even be true. One can hope.
0 -
Yeah and that’s just stupid. The community could not have known that NFTs were part of this (or any other license). And BHVR could have just told the community they tried to reach out but they couldn’t agree on the term with the license holder.
that is entirely the fault of BHVR. See Jeepers Creepers for example. There are still many in the community asking for it (knowingly and unknowingly of the creators crimes). But BHVR have stated they won’t get this license into DbD because they don’t want to be associated with this.
3 -
Yed i did, because it works well to get people to understand that they are partners in crime, a point shown by an emotional shock, you can replace the word kill by scam/hurt/bully/ anything else, it will always stay relevant
Yes it may be due to licence requirements, but it still makes BHVR à promoter toward NFT, and if they sold well you can bet they would support it, beside they could always have turned down the contract /if they actually where against it/
I understand why they didnt, but it was à bad move non the less
The fact that they dont out it direcly in the game is the last reason im still playong the game tbh, if they did it would be ciao bello
(But they cant dream of it, thanks steam)

On the contrary.
Using the reviews for DLC, something that nobody ever reviews because nobody checks those pages + it's pointless, isn't as strong as a main page. It's easier to influence ratings on these isolated because of this. Not as many reviews needed to get a mostly negative thing.
EDIT: Forgot to mention something: The other DLC pages seem to have around the same amount, and it's typically people reviewing licensed content like Stranger Things and Halloween. These pages seem to have memes and stuff, it's checked by the fans of the IP.

Really? As is that just something you are assuming about those people?
0 -
You're right. I'll go and edit my comment
so I don't get bannedbecause it's an assumption.... Do you disagree with it though?

People crying for 5 minutes, before their need to play outweighs their supposed morality.
1 -
its not like it’s only one type of people. There are of course people just screaming to fit in without any knowledge. But you got bad apples in every community.
0 -
The news is it still has no effect whatsoever on playing the game, same mechanics, same graphics, same sound. Leaving a bad review because of something not effecting the actual game in any way is dishonest.
