The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

I quit the game

For background knowledge, I'm a semi-new player with 163 hours in the game, and ######### the new changes. It is so annoying chasing a player, losing them for a bit, and them healing in 10 seconds from the boon totem. If I could stop that by stepping on the totem it would be okay, but they can refresh the boon and I can't do anything about that other than patrol a ######### totem. My last 5 games have been so annoying and irritating, that I would rather invest my time in a different game. This isn't even a fix the game and I'll be back, I'm just done. Who thought that infinite heals would be a good thing, especially when considering that killers in lower tiers, meaning below tier 8, have a harder time chasing. Most killers in the game are below tier 8 and are likely to lose a player while chasing or have to spend time finding where the player is hidden. If a boon totem is in play, those hiding players are likely to heal by the time lower tier killers find them, and it is hard having a good time playing when you're making no progress as a killer. Even if there are perks that beat the boon totem, newer killers and lower tier killers probably do not have that killer character or the perk unlocked, and it would take them forever to grind for it in the blood web. I've had such a bad time with infinite heals, that I'm just done permanently. It's left a sour taste in my mouth.

Play a little more survivor perhaps? Because boon totems are OP (according to you), maybe you'd have more fun matches that way. Survivor is very fun when you're good at it, much better than killer.

Remember that boon totems aren't map wide, they have a 24m radius. Just leave the totem and go find another survivor to chase somewhere else. Blessing a totem takes 20 seconds, healing takes 16 seconds, that's 36 seconds the survivor isn't doing their main objective. And in this game that's more than enough time for you to pressure gens.

Yes this......the obvious solution is to play whats busted at the moment to cheese wins. Cause thats what DBD has become....if everyone quits killer the devs can finally impliment AI killers across all matches turning this into the borefest survivors have always wanted....

Lemme just fix this for you:

    • Blessing a totem takes 14 seconds. Blessing a HEX totem takes 24 seconds, but only the first time, as the hex is then removed forever.
    • Healing another survivor takes 8 seconds, assuming no other healing perks/items
    • Healing yourself takes 16 seconds with Circle of Healing, which is a full 16 seconds FASTER than Self-Care, despite Circle of Healing providing the bonus to ALL survivors for a single perk slot.

So, assuming you bless a dull totem, and two survivors heal, that's a mere 22 seconds for the first heal to provide a benefit. From that point forward, it's 8 seconds.

So what it you just use it for yourself? Well, 14 seconds to bless a totem and 16 seconds to heal is 30 seconds. If you took the Self-Care perk, that would take 32 seconds to just heal yourself, which makes Blessing + Healing actually FASTER than just healing yourself. And then, the totem's up for everybody else to use at their leisure.

And even if everybody is just healing themselves, taking 16 seconds to heal is 16 seconds off gens, that's true. But it's self-healing where there was no self healing before which means another full health state the killer has to apply.

Circle of Healing is a BETTER Self-Care combined with a BETTER We'll Make It and it grants these double bonuses to every survivor who cares to use it. It's wildly more potent than any other healing perk in the game and it gets even more ridiculous when you factor in med kits.

Killer used to be way more harder to play for a lot of reasons. 20-21 killers have no idea about old dbd.

You missed the 2016- early 2019 era.

"and [BAD WORD] the new changes."

As someone who started playing in 2018, you do not know how much I agree with this sentence.

Honestly I am to the point believing that is what they are doing. They clearly have been working on A.I's. They hadn't been making any changes to make Killer even slightly bearable to play. If someone gave me a fake news article that BHVR is removing Killer for A.I. I would just 100% believe it, not even question it, or be surprised.
