Who's Nerf is the worst Hillbilly's or Deathslinger's?

Personally for me they're both equally awful but, I would say Deathslinger if I had to choose 1 cause his nerf is just a kick in the balls where as Hillbilly at least you can keep momentum with his movement but, the slow aim in for Deathlinger is just god awful I miss the quick scoping days

Slinger felt so much worse imo. At least Billy still has mobility going for him.

Deathslinger. Billy still has high mobility and the overheat mechanic can be manageable. Deathslinger just feels super clunky every time you aim.

Slinger. He's bottom 2 with Legion now. It's actually just terrible. Billy at least has an instadown and some mobility. That alone keeps him out of bottom tier. Slinger is a 110 killer with a ranged attack that is barely an attack anymore with a giant terror radius.

If we look at this from a logical perspective, we can narrow it down to a few variables

    • the Caliber we of deathslingers gun
    • And the number of chromosome billy has

from here we can change the two until we find a balance over a number of games on the test servers maybe ? Just a suggestion

    kind regards

Imo both stayed relative strong killers even with the terrible changes but if I had to pick one it'd be deathslinger.

Billy got a cooldown which mainly limits how often he can use his power but the other then that, the power is unchanged. He mainly lost his charge addons

Slinger on the other hand, can't do tight around corners shots as well as before, tiny holes shots not at all, is far more clunky and less responsive, even the most oblivious surivors now get notification to "wiggle now and hope he misses" and to top it off has 32m TR while beiing 110% no mobility killer with several other cooldowns on his power.

Even with all that, his chase is still really strong so he can survive it but honestly, who would bother getting good with him when you can chose from higher tier killers who are about as good in chase if not better and have mobility powers or other stuff.

Hillbilly base kit can still be played very similarly

Deathslinger just feels clunkier but his viability barely changed

    So yeah, Deathslinger 100%

You now have to pre-scope around corners similar to Huntress, which feels more satisfying than quick scoping on a long wall but it's more predictable and it's kinda of a guess as well. It annoys me that they just straight up nerfed him and didn't do anything to compensate. And the things they did buff are quite unnoticeable or just irrelevant (faster ADS movement speed and faster recovery after breaking a chain)

Those weaknesses are mainly annoyances compared to how he was before. I'm saying he's fairly strong, not that he's amazing, highly skilled slinger still isn't a joke to play against compared to some actually low tier killers. Imo low B tier compared to high B tier that he was before.

Miss going against slinger, I do be getting couple billies here and there but as I thought 0 slingers since nerf..... put the man back and this is me a survivor main want to him back, vs other annoying wenches like spirit/plague/pig/bubba, Must prefer DS

Deathslingers nerf was horrendous. They took away the good "FEEL" of the character. That is something you just don't do. They should have come up with some other idea to change his play style, because now he feels like complete ass to play as. Aiming slowly just sucked the last bit of decency out of that Killer. Hillbilly on the other hand has always had a good "feel" to him IMO.

I don't even know which was worse. Both were killers that I loved to play and now I barely touch them after the nerfs. I'd say Slinger because unlike Billy he was never a top tier killer, nor he had strong addons like old Carburator Tuning Guide.

    Billy got hurt power wise

Slinger got hurt terror radius wise. Honestly that's the worst bit not even the aiming

Deathslinger sucks now because they completely gutted his base kit and playstyle.

Billy sucks now because his base kit was never great to begin with, which was nerfed a bit, and the add-ons that allowed him to keep up got completely destroyed. Also, his chainsaw and animations have become super janky.

Both of them are weak and horribly clunky compared to what they used to be but for different reasons.

Hillbilly by a long shot. Atleast Deathslinger is still ######### playable to a certain degree.

Both suck but I think Billy's nerf is worse because no one asked for it. People were complaining about deathslinger but I hardly heard anyone scream "Billy OP, Plz Nerf!"

Slinger’s nerf was a little more worse.

Billy was bad because they nerfed him even though it wasn't necessary and nobody asked for it. But imo, Slinger was even worse because there was an issue with him, they nerfed him into oblivion and SOMEHOW they managed to not address the main issue with his power. On top of that, shooting became so risky and limited that it's incredibly unfun while he is supposed to be a ranged killer. Billy is still the same with an annoying cooldown.

they are both on the same level for me.

however, Billy is probaply never going to get rid of this nonsensical mechanic they added, while Slinger is definitely still fixable.

with Slinger, its very much possible to just revert the changes and move on - Billy has had an entire Add On rework centered around that stupid mechanic, meaning thats here to stay for the forseeable future.

Deathslinger's is worse. Hillbilly's nerf didn't affect his players' muscle memories, in fact I want to say it made the chainsaw feel more smooth. Deathslinger's delay on his zoom in so painful to get used to. Even when you get used to it I don't think he'll be any good, because even with snap decisions and quick reactions you're not gonna be able to land the shots you were able to before. He's like Huntress now where you can't quick scope at all and instead have to hope the survivors outposition themselves, so that they bob and weave into your sight, then release. If they don't let you do that, you're screwed with him. Absolutely horrendous and unnecessary nerf.

Since this patch I think I've only played against one deathslinger.

Hillbilly was mostly the same after his nerf. The heat mechanic barely ever comes into play and he can still zoom around the map like he originally could.

Deathslinger's change where he can't quick fire is much more noticeable. Before the nerf you could mentally aim at someone while moving toward them and do a quick right/left shot. Now you have to bring the rifle up which takes a moment, and then you have to aim after that because the survivor obviously has moved around while you were doing that. But aiming while you have the rifle drawn feels like swimming in molasses, the turning speed is just really, really slow. Likewise the strafing speed is slower than normal movement too. It's just not as much fun to play.

Where before the change Deathslinger felt like he was mostly on par with Huntress, maybe a little weaker, because he could get off quick shots that the Huntress couldn't, now it seems like he's more like a straight up weaker version of her all around. He has to charge up his rifle kind of like her, slows down while aiming like her, has a shorter range and if there's a pallet between him and an injured survivor there's a decent chance he can't get the down whereas Huntress can always get a down if she hits from across a pallet. I suspect even his add-ons aren't as good as Huntress'.

Hopefully they'll eventually give Deathslinger a boost of some sort to put him on par with Huntress. Maybe if he's across a pallet from someone he's hooked let him stab them with his bayonette, then at least both he and Huntress could down someone using their ranged attack from across pallets.
