Console is still in awful shape
Still, massive and random FPS drops, short freezes, locking when: A gen is finished, someone is hooked, etc. Said to be "fixed" about half a year ago. Maybe, just maybe if you used the 2 braincells hidden between the far sides of your empty skull you could find a solution. I am so ######### tired of FPS drops messing up my chases, forcing me into objects. This game has no right performing as poorly as it does. Any attempt to defend this lack of action is just abhorrent

Correct.
With this last update, Console was reverted back to near the state it was in following the Resident Evil patch.

I saw some of your threads about it, respect and condolences. Hopefully, although I doubt it, if VHS takes off BHVR will actually get their act together and fix it

There's more comments in my thread about Console Optimization than there are in the entire Optimization sub-forum.
And yet, we've accomplished precious little and the game runs arguably worse than it did when I started the thread in April.

Just played Freddy on Switch to do a daily. The survivors sent us to Dead Dawg Saloon. [BAD WORD] that was miserable. The frames dropped into the single digits if I turned the camera. I couldn't track survivors for crap. The colors are washed out, everything is blurry. it's hard to see anything at all.
It's depressing to think I paid money for the game given this performance. That they take money from people for this is shameful. Killer is not playable on Switch, it's not. That's half the game that's not playable, yet it's actually more expensive on Switch.

ps5 works smooth if your not on ps5 x series or pc any console lower than those are pretty bad indeed on fps, when nemesis punches for example on ps4 my god its like the ps4 itself feels it.

The mobile version that runs on cell phones and is free doesn't lag and has bots? I wish I could laugh, but that's not funny.
[BAD WORD]ing hell, Switch players deserve their money back. I'm not joking or being hyperbolic there, Switch players were sold a broken product. It's not broken because BHVR can't do better, it's broken because they didn't hire a team wo knows how to port a game over to Switch. Plenty of much more graphically intensive games get ported to Switch and run beautifully.

Doom (2016) gets 30 FPS on the Switch.
DBD gets....some FPS on the Switch.

The depressing thing is that before they've fixed the issues with what we've already paid for, they are promoting the next thing they are asking for money for; which will bring more performance problems as well no doubt.
It really makes me sad to see the game being run into the ground like this.

Not hard to swallow, just annoying. Like I said, it's not that DbD can't run better, it's that BHVR didn't hire people who could properly port the game to console. That's been obvious from the start. The truly frustrating thing is that they continue to not hire people to fix it and instead keep saying "we're working on it," meanwhile performance keeps going downhill. But hey, they can hire people to make a perfectly functioning mobile game for players who never have to spend a dime, so I guess that's just a lesson that BHVR really doesn't deserve paying customers.
I wasn't even supposed to still be playing on Switch. Cross-progression with PC was supposed to already be a thing months ago.

No offence to any of the devs and I’m sure they’re perfectly nice people, but BHVR as a company is pretty low tier. They got lucky with this game, right place, right time, some admittedly great work obtaining licences, and now they are in over their heads. A fish out of water, flailing about on the deck.

Eh, I'd choose Identity V over mobile DbD. The killers in Identity V look fun and interesting.
But personally I don't get invested in mobile games. They're just not my thing, I guess. I played Love Nikki for a little bit, but I never put in money and just ended up forgetting about it. The only mobile game I really liked was Monument Valley, but that was really short, not a multi-player or forever-ongoing type of game.
That's me, though.

Been better with me still some ugly spikes. Now I’m also begging for keyboard support after facing some PC gamers. It would go a long way

who do you wish you could main...
Also your keyboard support is a good idea, with crossplay being a thing.

For PC players who haven't experienced console DBD, imagine bad fps ON TOP OF the killer fov. Yeah, it's bad.

In other multiplattform games just a simple graphics/performance mode is the solution.
But i won't expect that anytime SOON from a game which not even have brightness settings.

I'm actually surprised this time DH doesn't stutters. But once in a while the game decides to freeze in random times which is equally bad.
