So i just got back to the game after a break and i need help on countering hag now im gonna blame some ######### on my teammates like when i crouch up on a unhook due to it being a trap there and they dont crouch after i unhook now thats not much i can do. but lets say im in a chase and hag puts up a trap on the loop safe loop. is there no point in playing around that loop at all do i try and bait out the trap etc.

its only how to counter her traps due to some hag players just teleporting and doing a lunge instatntly after and there aint much i can do to not get hit

Your only counters are flashlights and good teamwork. Since teamwork in solo doesn’t exist there’s not much you can do unfortunately

The best way to counter Hag is to destroy her web. As soon as you see it is a Hag you have to destroy her web or disturb her as much as possible while it is being set up. When the Hag is done with her web it will be very difficult to defeat her in solo.

Hags counters aren’t hard, what is hard is relying on your teammates and doing what needs to be done.

First counter to Hag, if you’re a good looper, is to harass her while she tries to lay her web. If she can’t lay her traps, she’s a slow M1 killer, that can’t do anything but be forced to chase you. So just keep running at her while preserving pallets and buying gen repair time for your team.

Second counter to Hag is to set off all of her traps the moment she picks someone up. She can’t teleport while holding someone.

Third counter to Hag is to crawl up to the hook for the rescues and hope the hooked person knows to crawl away. 9 times out of ten, they don’t, and y’all die to MyC (I hate this perk with a passion).

Flashlights are also a good counter since they remove the trap but that’s just helpful if you happen to run one or find one in a chest.

The “idea” of Hag games are what I like about Dbd. Different killers forcing you to play differently. The problem comes down to dumb teammates and the devs catering to them rather than trying to force the survivor player to improve.

If you know where a trap is, you can inch towards the trap while walking until you activate it at the maximum distance. Then, run away in a straight line. This "disarms" the trap as even if hag teleports instantly she won't be able to hit you, and will have to chase as 110% killer. Also if you can, run through areas you suspect might be trapped when she's carrying a survivor or chasing an injured survivor. Often the temptation to teleport is too much for hags to resist and you destroy a bunch of traps.

If we're talking about hook traps, you want to crouch in, unhook, then crouch away before you start healing. However, that relies on the unhooked survivor knowing how hag works and not immediately sprinting away. Also getting caught in the basement against hag is very dangerous, try to avoid that. Hag is less strong than people say but she's still very good, you just have to use your brain. :)

If you are solo it is best that you take up the responsibility for harassing the hags traps.

Always be disarming her traps. You can do this when she is being distracted. Meaning when she is carrying someone, or just hit somebody else.

This actually is why I think Hag is probably one of the better designed killers. There are ways to help mitigate the effectiveness of her traps but some of them require finesse or patience and general game awareness to know or spot where her traps are and how to most safely get around them, especially if you don’t have a flashlight handy. At the same time all that crouching around and running around trying to disarm traps is less time being spent on gens which gives Hag more time to set traps and chase people. And there’s also a fair amount of strategy in good trap placement to try to have proper backup plans and traps in case someone is intentionally disarming them.

Basically Hag has a decent skill ceiling on both playing as her and playing against her.
