Alternative use for the kill switch - occasionally shift the meta?

Was wondering about an alternative use for the recent kill switch. Could the devs occasionally pull the kill switch for the most used / meta perks for killers and survivors to help push the meta towards something else - something more fresh? It would be interesting to see how players on both the killer and survivor side would adapt their play style to this. Image no games with no dead hard or noed etc lol.

What are peoples thoughts on this? Do you think this would be a viable or interesting thing to do? Would there need to be incentive for the devs to implement this?

Also apologies if this has been discussed before 😅

I'd rather see the Meta changed by making the majority of perks actually worth running half the time instead of forcing people.

Same tbh. But I don't think that would happen any time soon lol. Maybe its a naive thought - could the kill switch be used to push players to other perks and the devs could try and replace the meta by using data from the most used perks? I'm just a very casual gamer and never really conform to the survivor main meta. So hard to tell the thoughts of the majority of meta perk players lol

No I don't think this would be a good idea, I'd like to use any perk I've grinded for, whenever I want to. If I'm remembering correctly Overwatch tried to spice up their gameplay by disabling certain heroes and that went down badly. Of course we're not exactly talking about disabling killers here but it'd still go down badly. People want to use the perks they've grinded for, especially if they've paid money to gain access to those perks.

Also can you define e.g. killer meta perks? Perhaps Ruin, Undying, POP? If those were disabled I'd imagine killers using those perks would instead use Corrupt, Dead Lock, No Way Out etc. Not always as good, but serve the same purpose.

There's also a problem if you know players CANT possibly have a perk since it's disabled: E.g. killers could freely tunnel survivors out the game knowing BT and DS are currently disabled.
