Giving up on killer in this MMR
After 5 years of playing this game fairly evenly to a pretty decent level. Since MMR has been added to the game I don’t think I’ve had more than 3 killer games that I’ve actually enjoyed.
The icing on the cake was the boon totems. No game I’ve played this week has gone without multiple boons up with constant healing. Scratch marks going and body blocking so no matter what chase happens. Somebody jumps in to ruin it so the other one can heal.
Playing killer in the game at a high MMR right now is PAINFUL and I give up. I’ve tried and tried to just enjoy it. But how do you enjoy being ran around, losing gens all for about 5 hook states and maybe a kill or two a game.

Boon totems kill ruin and the like. It used to be that survivors just kept on gens as best they could and if they got rushed off that was the price to pay. Now there is always somebody looking to find totems to put down boons, always finding ruin on the way.

I have see a huge increase in small game or detective's hunch. And a lot more of my teammates doing totems. It is really strange to see, but I suspect it is just because they are new.
As killer, I rarely run into them.

Can u explain why u even care about high MMR? U don't get any rewards for it and u don't see your actual MMR. What's the point to tryhard for nothing?

What I dislike is that circle of healing promotes hyper aggressive survivor gameplay with constant bodyblocking mid chase which drops the fun factor for any M1 killer if the survivor team uses the boon to its full potential.
That's why I now exclusively play instadown killers even if they're not considered top tier.
Currently trying to master curving-Hillbilly.
Other options in this regard are Bubba, Myers, Ghostface (to some extent) and Oni. I suppose that's enough variety for those of us who are sick of getting bodyblocked mid-chase.
Hell, I'm playing the killer yet survivors seem to go after me if I have to hit them twice. That feels like proper circus gameplay. Might as well add this whenever you're getting "chased" and blocked by survivors mid chase:

I played insta down Killers for quit some time and I am a huge Ghostface enthusiast. Like @Yamaoka I also try to master Hillbilly which is a challenging but rewarding task (the sound of hitting a chainsaw is somehow more satisfying than Bubba). Most times the Boon: Cycle of Healing is no problem for me because of this.
However Boon: Shadowstep proves to be a huge problem especialy as survivors are not dumb because they combine it with Iron Will. This takes away all the information I usualy have during a chase. Even phasing with Spirit provided more information than both of these perks. Now there are maps where this is no problem. On big maps the boon has to be repositioned to be kept effective or the survivor has to go out of their way to place a boon. This is fine and I can deal with it. However on maps like Midwitch or The Game the problem shows: You can not snuff out the boon without going out of your way and even a boon in a corner of the map offers a big enough area to abuse.
A good and easy way to deal with this would be to cap self-healing (not the healing of other survivors) and to buff "Forced Penenace" a bit (longer Broken duration). Forced Penenace right now is a meme with 80 seconds duration. However if you buff that duration to 120 seconds (remember the condition is harsh) this would become much better and counter heal-spamming.
I tend to run more Nurse Calling these days just for this...
However I have no idea how to fix Shadowstep + Iron Will. Most of the time this combination is just too good and other "tracking" perks do not work.

Yeah I constantly get chased by Survivors so they can Body Block and heal using COH/Shadow Step nearby.
I actually got pretty fed up with it today and finally decided to start playing Bubba again lol
I can handle a lot of things but Body Blocking is really annoying, especially when a FULL Team does it and rotates constantly. I had a team earlier do it to me like 4-5 rotations in a row, every time I would hit one of them, the others would start to run to me one by one to take hits, I could almost never get a single down. The match lasted forever and it was boring and annoying lol
