Has there ever been a discussion on having Replays, so we can watch from different perspectives?
So I just played a game, and I wondered, I would really love a Replay feature. I would have loved to see the perspective of all players in the game, to see how they reacted to me, or how other players reacted to each other, what strategies I can improve on, how someone beat me, etc....
Before you say it's not technically possible, it is. Old games like COD Blacks Ops 2 had a Theater mode where you could replay the match from the perspective of every player.
So, at the End Lobby of a match, you have the option to Save the replay. If you leave the lobby without saving it, it's gone forever.
Wouldn't this be amazing? If you have a great Killer game, and you want to see the perspective of the Survivors on how they played against you, or if you want to see fellow teammate survivors to see how they did so well, or if you want to just watch the match and enjoy it again from every perspective to see how it turned out the way it did....
This would be an AMAZING feature for DBD.
- more youtube/twitch clip highlights and exposure
- playerbase skill level will grow, so less complaining about things
- re-live the matches you really liked, all over again, from the perspective of your enemy

I’ve always wanted it myself as a learning tool for both sides. I know ppl have mentioned it on the forums but I do not know of a conversation or mention from the devs.

Not only replays. Give Solo custom mode so players can practice against bots. I [Bad word] every time this genius who made custom mode for 2+ people only.

I would LOVE a replay feature in this game. No joke. It helps everyone improve and brings more life to the game

I recently played as Killer vs a twitch streamer. At the end of the match, I always go to their streams to see if I could watch from their perspective... had 0 luck until last night!! Finally got to watch one of my 4 kill matches from the perspective of the Survivors! I've saved it on my PC. But it's only 1 survivor perspective.

Replays have definitely been requested as a feature. I vaguely think that the devs said at one point there was a technical hurdle they encountered with implementing replays, but I'm not positive?
On a tangent having a way to replay a match from a replay file would also help them internally to verify reports of abuse or cheating, etc. They could have the system automatically save a corresponding replay file from each player in the match for someone in customer service to have for reference when they review the ticket. I also vaguely think they said something to the effect of, since there are third party programs that can record games, developing their own replay system to be built into the game is a lower priority. But if someone can verify if I'm right or wrong on that feel free!

Wait, what 3rd party program can record the match from all player perspectives?

This would be such a fantastic idea and would help so many players, it is already a problem of players not realizing their own mistakes, watching over games would be awesome.

I recorded some KYF games to show the killer where we the survivors were at all times and what we were doing. Seeing how we were hiding, losing them, looping etc. Absolutely helped their game tremendously. Within 5 or 6 games (replaying in between each round) they had improved substantially. Way more than they would have without seeing the replays.
I'm all for that feature.

Not from all player perspectives, but just from your own perspective.

Best you got is playing against Twitchies

It's something that gets brought up quite often, I'd love a feature like that as well, would help with many different things, from improving your gameplay to reporting hackers.

It could also help people record evidence for cheaters!

I would love that, so many times I am wondering how I lost a survivor or how did killer mindgamed me at that loop so well....it would help so much to improve in the game

I would absolutely love to see something like this implemented. Whenever I play against a streamer I always go to check and see if they are streaming after the match so I can rewatch the game from the perspective of the other side. I think it would help players on both sides improve a lot.

Overwatch has a cool system where you can save a couple of replays locally or I think it uses a generated code and that lets you get the replay code which you can share with other people to let them view the replay in their own game.
It has some good options when using too such as a free flying camera so you don't even just have to watch from a players perspective.
Not sure how they've done it tech wise but maybe something the team could get some ideas from?

would be nice especailly to catch some weird things some players can do like hacking so even if u dont see obvious tings of course you can see decision making aswell as speed hacks and other stuff.

I wish I didn't need to rely on twitch folk for replays tbh.
