Chapter Concept: A Web of Shadows
We deal with fear in our own way. But our worst phobias are much more difficult to defeat, and sometimes...impossible to overcome.
The new Killer is: The Spider.
A monster with a vicious demeanor and a deadly bite, The Spider hunts its prey by first immobilizing the unfortunate soul, before moving in for the kill. A twisted creature who lives to kill and eat, The Entity took a keen interest in the beast's killing instinct, as well as its horrifying visage.
The Spider's power is: Web Snare.
Ensnare your prey with a net that is difficult to escape.
Pressing the Power Button allows The Spider to fire a Web Snare, that entangles Survivors and afflicts them with the new Immobilized status effect for 15 seconds, and applys the Incapacitated status effect until the Snare has been removed.
Firing a Web Snare at any dropped pallets or vaultable locations creates a Trap Snare that Immobilizes Survivors that jump through it. Trap Snares can be destroyed by the Survivors by finding Torches found in Flaming Barrels, but their supply is limited.
Survivors can struggle out of the Snare, or another Survivor can perform the Remove Snare action.
The Spider starts the Trial with ten Web Snares by default, and can create more by pressing the Ability Button.
The Spider comes with three new perks.
Lead the unwary into your web with: Said The Spider To The Fly
A false lure is sometimes all that is needed.
3/4/5 Generators are randomly trapped at the start of the trial. Survivors working on these Trapped Generators are unknowingly afflicted with the Exposed status effect while repairing these Generators. This effect lingers for 14/16/18 seconds after the Survivor stops working on the Trapped Generator.
Said The Spider To The Fly only triggers when a Trapped Generator is being repaired, and once triggered, the Generator is no longer Trapped.
Fear is a powerful weapon, and the ability to use it is instinctual to you with: Arachnophobia.
You instill great fear in Survivors with your very presence.
When a Survivor is within your Terror Radius, they suffer from overwhelming dread and inefficiency. Healing actions, Repair actions and Break actions take 9/10/11% longer, and item efficiency is reduced by 10/20/30%.
What is an escape, and what is the way to death? Only you know in this: Web Of Deceit.
The intricate web you have weaved has many branches in it, not all with pleasant ends.
After a Generator has been repaired, Web Of Deceit activates, and gains a token, up to a maximum of 5.
Once all Generators have been repaired, Web Of Deceit blocks off one of the Exit gates, leaving only one way out for the Survivors. All tokens Web Of Deceit has gained are removed, granting the Killer a stackable Haste status effect of a maximum of 5/10/15%.
The blocked Exit gate is highlighted in a white Aura for the Killer.
