Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

Did matchmaking just change?

This might be my imagination but matchmaking has suddenly and drastically just changed for me and I don't know why. (i.e. in the last couple of days).

I've been playing as a filthy survivor recently and had been enjoying a comfortable average of escaping every two matches or so. Yesterday I couldn't escape a single match. I put it down to a bad day and played again this morning. Again, I couldn't escape a single match. The odd thing is that with such a sudden losing streak I would have expected matchmaking to have corrected the MMR of killers I face.

I probably have just turned potato but has anyone else noticed a very recent change?

It's been like this for me ever since they've changed it, since escapes and kills do not translate into actual skill, random results are to be expected.

My number of escapes went up and gradually i played against good killers, i had a similar experience.

But only yesterday i played against weak killers after so many games without escaping. i don't know if this will happen to you too but chances are you'll get easier games after a number of games with no escapes.

I've found solo survivor getting worse lately as other survivors are playing more selfishly. Side effect of people knowing how MMR works I guess.

I'm actually recording stats from my soloQ games now (https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/292784/report-from-hell-35-trials-of-soloq), and since I started that thread, I only got 1 new escape and 6 new deaths, even though before I had ~50% escape rate. So yeah, something isn't right here.

This is exactly it I think.

Escape raises MMR and you can escape while stealthing around never touching a gen, so you do get players at higher MMRs when their skill is lacking in areas the game used to score you on such as the emblem system etc.

Same for killers; I've been mindgamed at every loop but the killer 'played fair' and went for hooks instead of securing kills and so their MMR went down, but I've played a lot of killers now who can't loop for anything yet I'll get caught with NoeD or they'll catch and camp 1 while the rest of us die trying to get them out so their MMR goes up.

It really needs a way to score by things like chase time, time on objectives etc I think.
