I played 13 survivor matches and feel like sharing the results

I don't play survivor too frequently anymore because survivor gameplay bores me but last night my wife and I decided to go for a survivor session and played 13 games.

We get matched with EU streamers like Tru3 on a regular basis and have around 5000 hours so I suppose we're high MMR on both sides.

For once we didn't exclusively get Blight and Nurse players so it was kinda fun.

The matches and results we had:

- Hag (killer gave up and kept slapping trees as I kept popping her traps to get her to chase me)

- Deathslinger (killer disconnected after 3 gens popped with 0 hooks)

- Freddy x2 (4 man escape, 2 man escape. Second match would have been a 4 man escape with 3 hooks total but NOED helped him get the 2 randoms)

- Tombstone Myers (4 man escape)

- Bubba x4 (1x 4k because both randoms got downed at 5 gens next to each other then both of them rage quit on hook, 2x 4man escape, 1x 2 man escape [the randoms died early on but we somehow still did the last gen and both got out])

- Slugging Sally (4k)

- Pig x2 (both times with the iridescent tape. 4 man escape, 2 man escape as the two randoms died again)

- Trickster (4k). Both randoms were together with similar names and immediately pointed at hooks when they saw it was Trickster. Selfish people. Me and my wife still ran him good and did 3 gens on our own. Would have been another easy 4 man escape if it hadn't been a 2v1 match from the start.

These results aren't really supposed to mean anything because it's just 13 games but I thought I would share them anyways because I usually don't keep track of any game results.

So anyways we played 13 games and died 3 times.

Escape rate as an experienced 2-person-SWF without full meta builds*: 77%

My build was: Bond, Kindred, DS, Dead Hard

What are your survivor experiences since MMR regarding escapes? Do you escape more/less frequently?

I think we need to nerf Pig to rise your escape rate to 80%.

I played yesterday mb 10 games and died only in games when someone DC early on. I rly want to ban those people. Don't like game - don't launch it. If i discount games with Dc, i escaped every game.

In my death squad SWF (just kidding, we are anything but), we all (3 players) escape pretty often. Or more accurately would, if I wanted to. I usually just give the killer a kill. Maybe four out of five games are potential escapes.

Solo queue, I am not going to lie, it is really bad. Like, maybe one in three games I can escape.

I was wondering what Solo Q was for you, cause for me 1 in 10 games escape lol.

"SBMM" is really bad. Most of the times i carry the team or die with the most BP to just get more potatoes the next match. The devs crearly don't have a clue on how to measure players skill to make a proper MM. As always solo q is in the ######### while SWF with boons and DH "fixed" dance in killers graves.

EU SERVER KILLERS must be really terrible if you escape that much. Especially when I get randoms AND killers DCing 50% of my matches. NA/Midwest USA/Toronto/New York area.

I don't think you are high MMR then, looks like you are in the middle where killers are struggling, trust me, every single game is nurse and blight to me.

You made a Hag give up, good work 👍 disappointed you didn't make her dc but I'll take the 4 man escape.

So the biggest take away is with SWF escape is WAY easier.

I play solo and still feel like I escape more than I don't. With a bit of stealth and working on the right gens you can make a game unwinnable for the Killer quite easily (if your teammates have some basic skills)

This sounds pretty much how my matches as solo survivor go.

At this point of the game, the biggest threat for survivors are other survivors. People that straight up sabotage the game by disconnecting or suiciding. If my teammates don't do something like that and instead do gens. Then it's usually a easy escape.

How are you high MMR if you said you never play survivor? Kinda odd there

  • Nathan13

I seem to escape pretty much the same amount of times before SBMM.

First of all I didn't say "I never play survivor". I said:

"I don't play survivor too frequently anymore". Major difference and you know that.

Secondly MMR doesn't reset making the frequency of survivor matches trivial so if I escape a billion times, then play nothing but killer for ages, my survivor MMR will still be high.

Lastly I have played a ton of survivor matches since MMR in total. It's just the frequency is a lot lower than my killer matches because repairing gens and looping has become boring for me.

And since I escape as survivor far more often than not my MMR obviously will be on the high side. That's how MMR works.

You escape often = high MMR.

Not sure why it's hard to believe that someone has high MMR as survivor with a total of 5000 hours of experience in DBD.

No wait, 5000 hour low MMR player here. What's gens again?

gens are the things other survivors seem to cluster around, they are quite a good way of losing the Killer if they chase you as you can run at the gens and the killer might chase someone else

13 games are nothing statistic wise, I understand your wish to share them but this kind of posts only use is to rile up mains (from wathever side feels afected) and start ranting about wathever flies their head.

Same here, 70-80% escape rate since SBMM playing on a 2 man SWF. If my teammates don't give up (it happens a lot for some reason) only killers we seem to struggle against are Nurse, Blight and Spirit.

Good to see my dear Sally is still holding up though.

    I can tell.

Literally just thought it was cool not to face only Blight and Nurse for a survivor session and thus took notes of the matches to share and some people try and make more of it than it's supposed to be. I literally said:

"These results aren't really supposed to mean anything because it's just 13 games but I thought I would share them anyways because I usually don't keep track of any game results."

I’d personally expect high escape rates from people with 5000 hours in the game, maybe half of which or a bit less was survivor. Even assuming the MMR is accurate the matchmaking can only work with who’s available, and the percentage of players at that level of experience is very low so it’s often going to be pairing them with lower experience people. And since the killer you face is balanced against the average of the survivor ratings, if you’ve got two multi-thousand hour survivors paired with more average survivors the killer will end up being maybe above average but not thousands hours level. So it’s easy to imagine a somewhat strong, but not top level, killer taking out the weaker two survivors and the top survivors escaping being pretty common.

I don’t think much else can be extrapolated from this other than that since even if everything else works perfectly the above would be a good possibility for really high level survivors. To really make any definitive statements about overall game balance (i.e. are too many people escaping in even match ups) you need data sets that are filtering out specifically the matches where all the players are about the same skill level in the match. Unfortunately we don’t have that info, the most we have is things like this where people track their own stats but don’t know the other players’ hidden ratings.

Traps is really all she's got. If hard counter them then she really struggles, she not built for chasing. I mean have you seen those spindly legs!

I know, I read the whole post and your disclaimer but still a lot of posters will just ignore wathever and bandwagon into "SWF must removed", "nerf DH/NOED", "X Killer is broken", "nerf genspeeds", which is sad but its the state of the forum and comunity.

Even though I consider myself ok-ish, I ended up on low mmr because I don't escape a lot and it's the worst experience ever.

People giving up on First hook, games Lost with 5 gens, people urban evading everywhere, solos afraid to save me with kindred and so on...

Doctors, Pinhead, Huntress, Demo, Oni, Myers, Wraith, and Nemesis.

That was my weekend. Probably 10hrs or more of survivors.

I mostly play survivor with 1 swf teammate and it's been a pretty terrible time. These are the situations we run into.

    1. Killer camps at 5 gens. If it's myself or teammate we watch the other 2 players just hide across the map while one of us is working on gens. If someone else is being camped they usually try to kill self on hook. Rarely does one of us escape these matches.

    2. Killer is competent. My swf teammate and I usually are the ones doing the most in a match while teammates hide or lead killer to us if killer finds them. At end we'll have the most BP that is either 15k+ or 20k+ while teammates have less than 10k or less than 5k.

    3. Killer just wants to farm because they are trying to drop mmr. Everyone escapes.

    4. We get decent team but it's against bad killer. Usually everyone escapes, killer maybe gets 1 kill.

    5. We actually get a decent team against a decent killer. 2 people escape.

1 and 2 are the more frequent scenarios. Killers get mostly 4ks or 3ks thanks to our 2 randoms being useless, it honestly feels like it's 2v1 not 4v1. We basically end up in deathloop of unfun matches because of this. Occasionally we will get scenario 3, 4, or 5 but those matches are pretty rare. My swf teammate and I die WAY more now than we used to and the killers get WAY more 4ks in our matches.

I'm on ps4 with crossplay off so I mostly see Legion, Myers, Doctor, Freddy, Nemesis, Pinhead, Huntress, Bubba, Pig, Ghostface, and Spirit. Bubba, Pig, Ghostface, Nemesis, and Huntress are the ones most likely to be a camping match.

Interesting, i would love to see the winrate data for each killer on different mmr level ( 400 to 800 or 1600 to 1900)

It was a 2 man so its not that broken and if we consider a 2 man swf broken then i camt understand why some people say solo is hell

Even if you say you don't play survivor frequently, your MMR shouldnt be high since people only should be there with 1) they play a lot or 2) get boosted by swf.

Being boosted by swf isn't really an indication of skill, but again that's a problem the devs still don't want to address.

I'd consider myself high MMR, and I'm also in EU. I rarely see anything else besides nurse or blight, so I'm glad you're finding other killers I guess? I havent seen a freddy in weeks.

I'm also at 5k hours, and I can admit I'm low MMR as killer, because I also do not play a lot of killer besides tome challenges these days.

No need to get all sarcastic on me just because I thought you being high MMR was odd since you said you dont play survivor much.

Just goes to show MMR isnt great since even people who dont play much get to "high" MMR-

If I was low MMR I wouldn't get matched with high level streamers like Sawpalin (top tier survivor main) and Tru3, would I ?

And as I said in the main post one of the reasons I even posted the thread was I had fun and took notes because I too usually see nothing but hug-teching Blights and Nurses when I play survivor. That's one reason why survivor is boring for me.

    Repairing gens: Boring.

Looping: Either easy and boring against normal killers or impossible against high level Nurses and Blight (depending on map and rng/tiles).

As for the MMR itself I doubt it even splits up the playerbase like MMR in other games because DBD doesn't even have a huge number of active players like let's say League Of Legends.

Personally I think anyone that plays actively and wins more often than not might have similar MMR. This would explain why I get matched with and against high level streamers and the same people as high level streamers. I recognize some names at this point when I play or watch streams.

    Lol this is pretty accurate.

SWF definitely dances on killers graves..

Solo Q is definitely a true hell lol
