Chapter Concept: Shadows of Bloodshed
Experience the continuation of the Yamaoka bloodline, within the Realm of The Entity.
New Map: Renjiro's Dojo.
The training center of the Yamaoka estate, Renjiro trained more than just samurai within this dojo's once opulent and prestigious walls. Now, the crumbling ruins are the scene of history's cruelest slaughter, and many more souls will join them.
The new Killer is: The Shadow.
Determined to redeem his family through his actions, Hanzo Yamaoka endeavored to become a shinobi, a warrior who fought from the shadows. But a bloodline curse is hard to get rid of, and Hanzo had to fight the rage his ancestor, Kazan Yamaoka started.
After his training was complete, Hanzo was sent out to assassinate a feudal lord who spoke against the shogun. Hanzo successfully infiltrated the lord's mansion and by morning, the guards found their lord in his bed with his throat slit.
Not even a week had passed before Hanzo was assigned to be the shadow of a minor lord, but he didn't know that this would be a test of his character.
For weeks on end, Hanzo would suffer insult after insult from the lord, Hanzo was trained to keep his emotions in check, but the lord's constant mockery truly tested him.
Then the lord did something he shouldn't have. He insulted the Yamaoka bloodline by calling it "A bloodline of demons."
Overcome by rage, Hanzo attacked his charge, killing both him and the guards. He then returned to the dojo, but what greeted him were simply drawn blades.
The world went black for Hanzo for a few moments, but when he returned to his senses, what lay before him were the corpses of his former peers and mentors. All killed by his hand, he knew.
As he stared at his bloodstained wakizashi, a Black Fog rolled in, and Hanzo could here a voice, inviting him to search. To enter. To kill.
Hanzo gripped his wakizashi tightly and stepped through the fog. He was a fool to think his bloodline could be redeemed. But now that he was free of his burden to restore his family's honor, he was finally with purpose.
The Shadow's power is: Yamaoka's Shade.
Meld into the shadows and move unseen. A creed all shinobi live, and die by.
Pressing the Power button allows the Shadow to partially meld with the Dark Mist, becoming a shade for 30 seconds. While in the Shade form, The Shadow moves at a much faster rate and can see Survivor auras, but cannot see scratch marks or trails of blood while Yamaoka's Shade is active.
Special Attack: Shade Slash.
While in Shade form, The Shadow can launch a deadly strike from the Dark Mist, emerging from it and slashing the Survivor, cutting deep and applying the Mangled status effect until healed.
Special Ability: Ambush
Stealth is a shinobi's tool, and it is his most powerful one.
Pressing the Action button when near an empty locker allows The Shadow to hide in it, granting it the Undetectable status effect until exiting the locker.
If a Survivor comes within 5 meters of the locker, pressing the Attack button causes The Shadow to burst out of the locker and slash at the Survivor, instantly putting them into the Dying state.
The Shadow comes with three new perks.
Make your targets suffer untold agony and terror with: No Escape.
You will never let them leave with their lives.
When one Survivor remains, No Escape activates and unlocks the potential in one's aura reading ability. The Killer can see the Hatch's aura within a 15/24/32 meter range.
Upon closing the Hatch, the aura of the last Survivor is revealed to you for 2/3/4 seconds.
You grow more dangerous when their numbers fall with: Shinigami.
Your lethality grows as more lives are taken.
After Sacrificing a Survivor, Shinigami activates and gains a Token up to a maximum of 3.
For each Token held, gain a small Haste status effect up to a maximum of 3/4/5%.
When the last Survivor is downed, unlocks the ability to kill them by your own hand.
Escape is nearly impossible with: Dark Pact.
You possess an intrinsic bond with The Entity that you unconsciously tap into.
Once a Generator has been 75/60/50% repaired, automatically call upon The Entity to block that Generator for 30/40/50 seconds.
Survivors working on the Generator scream, revealing their location to the Killer and suffer from the Oblivious status effect for 5/10/15 seconds.
Dark Pact has a cooldown of 50/40/30 seconds.
New Survivor: Samantha Strukov.
Born to a prestigious family in Moscow, Samantha was never happy with just getting anything she wanted. When she turned twenty, she left Russia to try to make a life for herself in America as a mechanic.
Her stubbornness could be equated to her Russian upbringing, but her drive to excel was undeniable. If she wasn't good at doing one thing, then she would simply keep trying until it became second nature to her.
Samantha met her wife a few years later, and the two rented out a modest apartment to live in together with a studio so her wife could paint.
One day, Samantha was working on a car engine, something she was very good at, when the shop became engulfed in a Black Fog. When Samantha came to she was no longer in America. Or anywhere she recognized.
Samantha comes with three new perks.
Pave the way to freedom with: Let There Be Light.
Your tentative work on car motors has afforded you certain benefits.
While repairing a Generator with a Toolbox, you repair Generators 15/20/25% faster and your Toolbox's consumption is reduced by 20/30/40%.
If you install a Brand New Part, Let There Be Light prevents it from being used if both Skillchecks are missed.
Use your mechanical skills to save your fellow man with: Jocky.
Sometimes putting yourself in harm's way is the best way to save others.
When you perform the Sabotage action on a Hook, you gain the Endurance status effect 25 seconds.
Sabotaged Hooks take an additional 15/20/25 seconds to respawn.
You know how to throw someone off with: Roadblock.
Just because you're being rushed doesn't mean you leave something half done.
When vaulting a window while in a chase, Roadblock blocks that window off, preventing the Killer from vaulting it.
Roadblock last for 10/11/12 seconds, and can only be used on one window at a time.
Redeeming one's family name is a daunting and nearly impossible task. It may be easier to forge your own path, or slaughter your way to redemption. Experience the continuation of the Yamaoka story with the Shadows of Bloodshed concept for Dead by Daylight.
