How MMR works for survivors sucks
So MMR ranking goes up if a survivor survives and down if a survivor is down, but I think it should go with the emblem system like how pipping works. The main reason I think that is because how it works now promotes selfish play over selfless play. MMR should reward you for giving your life to try (successfully or not) and save someone, instead of just leaving when the exit gate is ready. That way survivors will more likely to work as a team over just leaving to get their MMR high.

What's reward to get to high MMR? To having frustrated by facing more try hard players?

For killer none. For survivor more efficient teammates.

Honestly could've left it as "How MMR works sucks"

Yeah, the issue with your MMR dropping as a survivor is that it's easy to get stuck in a downward spiral - you'll get weaker killers, but you also get potato teammates that waste loads of time and it gets harder to escape. Maybe you can loop your killer for twice as long as before, but it doesn't matter if only one of the three people is working on a gen and the other two are just wandering around lost, or crouching scared every time they hear a TR.
Also, yes. The pip system was a much better handler for survivors because while it did tend to push you too high just for having basic competence, it reflected whether you contributed or not to the match. The new system doesn't care if you made it to the end and went down to BT save the player who was getting facecamped - it treats you the same as if you'd died two minutes into the game. You're actually punished for playing altruistically, because you increase the odds that future games are going to contain useless teammates and end up virtually unwinnable.

And eventually your MMR gets high enough that you run into a hacker every 2 or 3 games. Super fun!
