Dragon's Grip, Iron Maiden, and Starstruck are all easily avoidable - especially once you know they exist. They're not so much scary but inconvenient.
Make Your Choice and Rancor are both equally difficult to avoid and are worse with randoms. Make your choice if you have random teammates scared of being exposed you are dying on hook. Rancor not only does the killer see where you are when it activates but you need to avoid them long enough for a door to be open - granted only the obsession is screwed but if you have randoms afraid to touch the lever if they even hear a heart beat/spine chill goes off then you're screwed.

I guess Rancor if I’m in the wrong place at the wrong time.

You literally can't do anything against Rancor when it activates, so I'm going with that.

Hypothetically Rancor is the scariest because it allows the killer to kill the obsessions with their bare hands. I don’t use it though as a killer because it only actually matters if the Obsession is still alive at the end of the match and I have time to get to them before they escape, so it’s a bit inconsistent.
I like Dragon’s Grip personally in combo with Pop Goes the Weasel. Two decent effects with one kick is pretty cool. 🙂 In terms of effectiveness, though, I don’t know if that or Make Your Choice is more reliable. I’ve gotten downs out of both.

Rancor when in swf is so funny. I usually do mr. President get down when my friend has rancor on him

When that last gen goes and suddenly you're exposed, it's just one hit and you're finished. Also, you know the killer shall be targetting you like a homing missile. That final segment of the trial is so nerve-wracking!
