This game hates me for my country.
I already wrote that I constantly receive messages in the game chat and I really don't understand why all English-speaking players are so angry. I have less and less desire to play this game because of such players and it upsets me that BHVR does not block them, they continue to play and the funny thing is that I continue to meet in the game with those players, which I once played against. Please make sure that I only come across players from Russia, I really get tired of the negativity, and there is much less of it from players from my country.
I also notice this tendency to write "russian * insult *" and they think that this is not racism, because russian is not a race. Lol and? you are still insulting my belonging to a nation that I did not choose.
Understand, I can't just turn off the chat, because in addition to a bunch of negative ones, there are sometimes good ones and I don't want to miss them.

I hate to tell you this, but everyone gets nasty messages from time to time in this game. It does get under your skin sometimes.
Report them. BHVR can't do anything unless you do.
That's all you can do.
I also like to leave post-game chat on because sometimes you meet nice people, but it's honestly best just to have it off.

Make sure to always be nice to them back, I always do even though they never deserve it. Don’t fall to their level and insult them back. Stay positive and enjoy life!

I recall having an argument with a fellow survivor who was also spouting the infamous Russian slurs at a player with a Russian steam profile. I called them out on their racism, telling them that it's not exclusive to skin colour. I'll never forget their reply:
"i disagree"

If everyone did something like this you'd have a vastly diluted player pool and everyone would have an even harder time finding matches. So... yes?

the only problem i have is when they still try to communicate in russia with you when you already wrote that you cant speak or read it.
English is not my native language but i still speak it online, so why cant they do it too. and yes for me this only happens with russian players.

That Survivor isn't actually wrong. By definition, they weren't being racist.
The term you're looking for is 'xenophobic', which is prejudice against someone based on their country of origin, not skin colour or ethnicity.

Though, I also have to emphasise that it was the same survivor that was throwing the insults in the first place. So, by all means, they weren't 'right' either.

This is actually a fascinating cultural/gaming phenomenon. There's a specific word for it (I'm forgetting) but gaming culture in Brazil is very different to gaming culture elsewhere - in that a lot of the time, the goal is less to 'win' than it is to straight up sow chaos.
That said, I have met some pretty awesome BR players in WoW.

let me put it this way, i have been gaming since the original NES I have played cod, og wow, league, ark, quake, unreal, and many many many many other online games. aside from maybe cod on original xbox and thats only cause there is no built in voice coms. this is by far the most toxic community I have ever seen. I have made posts about it but no one cares about anyone else. I was told when i first played that to play killer you have to have thick skin. THATS JUST AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE GAME! think about that. to play 1/4th the player base you have to be able to take insults. thats this community. I have played since the year 2 event finished (missed it by like a day or 2) and have been yelled at for any number of reasons. from being bad to being too good to not obiding by some rules the survivors make up that killers have to honor such as "respect the 4%" im gonna be honest with you. if toxic is an issue, this isnt the game for you.

I've had some...really awful people in postgame before.
It's not the sore losers that annoy me - I understand.
It's the 'GG EZ uninstall scrub' gloaters that get to me.

Same here russians always only speak russian at endchat like the whole world knows russian. English is my 3rd language so if I can speak it they should be able to speak it too.
They always seem to insult too which is probably why they’re writing in russian so we don’t understand what they’re saying. One time I asked a russian if he could say what he said in english, he said “I hope your family die of canc*r” all we did was loop him with no toxicity

Doesn't directing antagonism towards those people due to their Russian ethnicity count as racism?? Not looking for fisticuffs here haha, I'm genuinely unsure coz the race/ethnicity/nation differentiation confuses me sometimes

I understand that, believe me. I was just being honest with you. This game is insanely toxic for no reason, the "devs" encourage it and the community supports it ( don't believe me look at angrypug and all the toxic streamers that have massive communities). So yes if toxic is something that really bothers you. This is not the game for you.

Everyone in the post-game chat speaks English, as if everyone speaks English. Many Russians, including myself, do not know English and only use the Google translator. If someone speaks Russian, then it was not addressed to you. If you are very interested in what we are talking about among ourselves, then use the Google translator.
Not everyone is required to know English. Insults in any language are unacceptable and I am sorry that you received these insults.

'Russian' isn't an ethnicity, it's a nationality.
Just like 'American', 'British', 'Australian', 'Chinese' etc, aren't races, so you can't be racist to them, but you *can* be racist to Caucasians, Asians, Indigenous Americans, etc.
Racism is discrimination based on the colour of skin (aka ethnicity/race) while xenophobia is discrimination based on their nation of origin (aka nationality).
They are two distinct categories, and often legal documents have you fill out both.

I would also like that I dont have to play with players from your country. Simply because Russians mostly have high Ping, because they are far away from the Servers they connect to.
However, this will not be possible. BHVR uses Amazon Game Servers and those are not supported in Russia. So you will connect to the EU-Servers (or any other Server which is nearby, but I know for a fact that Russians at least connect to EU).
And so nothing will change.

it has nothing to do with Russia but my main issue is ping thats why you should have servers in or near your coutry , same goes for Kazakstan and countries near Russia
