MMR
I decided to download DBD on my console because I was curious what its like to be a new player coming into the MMR system and joining the game in general.
I found out im terrible at dbd on controller and I also decided mmr is terrible.
I had enough points from completing the tutorial and got gifted 100k BP to get to level 17 with meg and equipped sprint burst, fixated(dont remember what its called now), and adrenaline.
My first game was vsing a face camping Bubba with all maxed lvl perks. BBQ, Franklin's, no way out, noed. I died.
The second game was a Ghostface with ruin, undying, BBQ, noed. I died this game aswell.
Third game was a blight with ruin, undying, tinkerer, and pop. I also died this game.
So either there are just alot of people dropping their MMR and destroying babies or it just doesn't work?
Im not sure exactly what to take from it but someone just downloading the game would have exactly zero clue what was going on. I plan to try killer next when I get back home but I have to guess its just as bad.

Welcome to low mmr hell. Where you either find one or two baby killers that literally are playing for the first time or you'll play against killers that know How to play but got destroyed by SWF's and then the game puts you against them so they can ease up a bit.
That's about it... Low mmr puts every type of killer against you, and if you're playing solo, there are also another chance of having 3 killers as well.

That is indeed very odd.
The only reasonable thing I can think of that would cause that would be killers intentionally deranking. Surprised they'd even be able to derank that low though.
That's also definitely going to be skewing any hypothetical data/statistics we're given any time soon since mmr release.

I wanna be honest with you, i lowered my killer MMR a lot on purpose to reach a point where i was able to play different perks builds, also the games finally don't last 5m, but it end up with me doing 8 hooks and let everyone go. If other killers did the same as me this shows how stupid MMR is and there will always be a way to cheat the system

This MMR is one of the worst I've seen in any game. Kills and Escapes are not the measuring tool for skill. Those are happenstance, at best. Many times, the best players don't survive because they lock up the killer's time so much that they end up on the hook in the end. It is exacerbated in solo que. If you are a good player in solo que, you are likely going to be hosed. Every now and then, you get good partners, but that is maybe 10% of the time. The low-skill killers know only tunnel and camp. It works so well vs these low-skill survivors. I've run the killer for 180+ seconds straight (completed my challenge in one run!) with zero gens done. When I got downed, three survivors all hiding around the map. All three creep around while I'm on the hook. Legion is camping me (yeah, Legion...). None of them try for the hook. None of them get on a gen. I go through all three hook stages and die. Yep....solo que in a nutshell. That's your MMR at work! lol

Hi, and welcome!
A few things:
- When you first start, you are assigned the 'average' MMR (likely to stop people smurfing as easily).
- It'll take a dozen or so games for your MMR to stabilize and perhaps a dozen more for it to be 'confident' in your spot.
- Keep at it! You'll lose a few games initially, without much doubt, but you'll get down to a more beginner friendly place soon.
- MMR is a huge replacement to what we had before, as killers had no matchmaking protections and you'd be facing nothing but smurfs.
- Yes, there are some people who smurf down their MMR to be butts to new/intermediate players (I literally just ran into a survivor 4man doing this) but it's a lot rarer than it was even a month ago. It takes a lot of effort to smurf now.

The game doesn't have any players to supply every new players with equally inexperienced killer every time of the day hence SBMM not working. You can go on your original account and play at midnight and get baby killers. Game just forces you to play with anyone available.

Yeah it's weird sometimes.
What can be really bizarre is getting paired up against 2 crazy good, 3000 hour monsters and two complete newbies with 2 perks equipped.

New players start at average mmr not low mmr.
Yes its weird but thats how it works now

Getting 4ks on low mmr survivors kind of defeats the purpose of deranking.

Well that's their point in deranking, to 4k.

It's nowhere near as common (at least for me) now - but maybe a month ago I'd frequently run into 3-4man SWFs who'd either AFK or run directly to me and die on hook. Occasionally it was a single survivor, but more commonly several.
Very clearly trying to smurf their MMR down.
I think either the system was tweaked to detect this, I've moved out of the MMR bracket where smurfing is more common or they've realized it was a huge waste of time to crush a few newbies.
That said, I do run into the obviously smurfing SWF from time to time (including a brutal group last night) and they can be outright unpleasant.

This happens to me on PC as well. I was long time console and still play mainly there, but I downloaded to PC, and just get destroyed. I don't know the controls and can't even look behind me, and playing against Meta build killers.

I would not be surprised if there would be a cheat/hack/exploit which allows you to lower your rank even if you kill the survivors.
This other thing happened to me only once, but I was facing a killer who was totally killing us, but never hooked anyone. Probably wanted to bully us and still lower their MMR. I did not escape on purpose and let myself auto sacrifice after the endgame timer ended as a revenge/counter.
