Best Like DBD Non-DBD Game
Since I am currently banned from my favorite game, how can I still play and get that same level of satisfaction from gaming that I usually get from DBD. Are there any other games that I could waste hours obsessively leveling up my character and switching between survivor and killer and all the other goodies DBD offers witihout actually being DBD? Any suggestions? The withdraws may start soon.

There are some but I don’t know if you can find lobby’s in the games at all?
Friday the 13th, I think it’s full of cheaters
Home Sweet Home: Survive, actually no clue if it’s still there
VHS, I think the closed beta starts tomorrow, you may still be able to get invited if you register on their website? (They are sending out further invites in waves)
No clue if ‚Hide or Die‘ or Resident Evil: Resistance are still a thing?

Thanks, I'll check 'em out!

VHS looks cool, I want to give that a shot. I'll look into Propnight as well as some others too.

One thing I really like about DBD is the official horror licensed franchises. Does any other game have these? (and any that focus specifically on indie horror would be my dream)

Probably to make up for the cheater lobby.

I don't know how active or inactive it is but maybe Evolve? It's a 4 v 1 shooter where you level up your monsters between games and such. It remember it wasn't too bad, other than it had a really confusing free to play business model which kind of killed a lot of interest in the game. 🤷♂️

Friday the 13th looks okay; a lot of cool kills but people haven't been saying the best things about it.
I checked out the trailer. I don't know if it's quite what I'm looking for...

Friday the 13th is a classic. It has a few issues, but its a very unique and fun experience (at least for me). It used to have a hacker issue, but with their recent implementation of you being able to host your own lobbies, from what I hear its getting better! It also has a very dedicated and active fanbase, despite the game being developmentally "dead". Only ever had fun in that game. I'd absolutely give it a try, its worth the money to at least test it out. The grind might be back due to the host update as well, rather than skyrocketing due to a bad host.
VHS is a new one, and since you already know about it, its probably worth checking out. Right now, there seems to be a divide between the streamers who are playing it and praising it to the point of hurting its reputation, and the people who aren't streamers playing it and having very mixed reactions; I'd be cautiously optimistic. It would be a very different experience overall and is more closer to Evolve than DBD.
The new Evil Dead game is absolutely one to keep an eye out for- It seems very promising! Very much like a marriage between Friday the 13th ad DBD, but its not out yet and wont be out until next February. I loved the trailer, and I'm hoping that it lives up to the Evil Dead franchise! Very excited for this one, so I'd keep an eye out!
Identity V is one that been out for a while, but its very different aesthetically and I don't believe it has any licensed characters in it.
Monsters and Mortals is by Glowstick entertainment, and its extremely fun! It either pits you up against one monster as a team of 4 collecting shards, or you're ALL against one another. It has licenses and also characters from Dark Deception, which is the other game they're working on- also a game I'd recommended, though it isn't like DBD. Not sure about the grind in this one, as I think its mostly just cosmetic based.
In Silence is alright, and I enjoyed my time playing it, but it doesn't have a lot of depth to customization and grind. Its more or less lobby by lobby, and you get randomly assigned perks. Still fun, but it lacks a lot of that core depth that makes DBD so appealing.
Hide or Die is fun, but I don't believe it has a very big community these days, and overall seems to be mostly forgotten. Additionally, I know nothing about its customization or grind, if there is any at all.
Deceit is sort of like Mafia or Werewolf, but with a more horror-inspired aesthetic. No licenses, but if you enjoy that sort of thing, it might be work a look!
Also Carnival Hunt is a new one that JUST got announced: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fUEYAAnXWQ

Whoa - Monsters & Mortals looks amazing!

I'm getting an asymmetrical horror board game published, so, that.
It's called Hunting Grounds.
I finished making it before playing DBD, and doing research on the market is actually what got me into DBD.

I could talk your ear off and/or I could share the instructions (I trust you not to steal them, plus I've got the copyright)
If you want, I can send the play tester version, which includes instructions for how to make your own set.

That actually looks really, reallly cool! I like the idea a lot, and it looks a lot of fun!

no problem!
have fun!
I was also working on a system for generating the visuals for survivors and killers, but it's not quite done yet.
if you want to fully playtest, let me know. I can give you access to the expansions once I get published.

That sounds cool. I don't want you to take this the wrong way but it's just out of curiosity: do you have any plans to make any full face cards of your own? Like, instead of using regular playing cards? I think that would be really cool.
0 -
yep. The plan is to make hearts cards have human hearts on them, for example.
The playtester rules are meant to be easy and affordable to get set up.
Also, can I recommend you check out my YouTube channel? (RosinRush.ca is the domain name) - I'm a musician.
