Definition of Sandbagging, a Technicality
Hi Everyone!
I would say most people agree blocking a fellow survivor in a doorway for the killer or dropping a pallet in front of another survivor would be considered sandbagging.
I would also say most people would agree that an instant save or saving while the killer is right next to the hook is sandbagging.
My question is unhooking someone before they go into struggle or die. I am talking the last ~5 seconds before the next stage. Because being left on the hook would become the equivalent of being taken off then being knocked down and being put back on the hook. This is situation is especially prevalent when it comes to camping killers.
My stance is that I would rather have gotten taken off because at least I have that level of hope and it wastes the killer's time to have to knock me down, wipe the weapon, pick me up, then rehook me.
My friend claims that it does not matter if you are about to struggle or die that she would rather just be left on the hook and taking her off is "sandbagging".
We have actually fought about this several times and I just want to see what other people think about this. Is taking someone off the hook just before they go into struggle or die considering sandbagging or in that situation is it considering a type of exception?

Pointless. After hooking you again, the killer will just have a better idea about at least one survivor's location, plus, your saviour wastes time with an unhelpful save instead of doing a gen. It is often done out of good intention, but it's still silly. If you don't have BT, don't try to save from under a camping killer's nose.0

I'd rather not go into 2nd phase because theres at least a chance I can get away or waste time1

If I'm getting you right, sandbagging isn't being hooked. Being hooked is being hooked. Or if you get pulled off and instantly downed. I believe most people refer to that as farming, and not sandbagging.
