Should I switch to killer?
This is coming from a Survivor main who hasn't played killer in a long, long time.
I play this game solo most of the time, mostly by preference and also because I can't really find anyone chill enough not to take each game too seriously. If we can keep each other alive, do gens and escape, great, if we can't, we can't. I try hard to just have a good time playing the game, I don't want to hear anyone complain every match that they happen to die. When I play solo, I do try to help the team, take hits when opportune, etc., etc., but if I can't do everything like a pro survivor, which I'm not, then the game might just turn towards the killer's favor. That's natural, sometimes you "win" as survivor, sometimes you don't.
What I absolutely hate is when my fellow teammate turns to work with the killer to get me out of the game. Why? I don't know why but I do have inferences. If we're the last two standing, then I'll try to get a gen (or more) done safely. If the other person happens to give chase to the killer, I'll absolutely do my best to complete the gens, but it's hard to do when you're injured yourself. But if I'm the one looping the killer, almost every time, the other person just hides and does nothing; that I can tell. I'm so sick of the other teammate somehow convincing the killer to make a pact to find me, just so they'll probably live. I absolutely hate this practice and it happens more times than you think. Can't control how [BAD WORD] <--(rhymes with kitty) a person decides to be.
And to take it even further, if I get caught and there's a chance the other person will live, I'll try to kill myself quickly on hook so they can possibly get hatch.
There's various other gripes I deal will as a solo survivor, but above is what I hate the most about the experience.
So, is it worth switching towards playing more killer? I used to play killer a long time ago like Legion or Ghostface, but I found Survivor much more fun. I just really hate what I have to endure when I play this game, plus people say killer is much more stressful now. A part of me only wants to play killer as a way retaliation against "certain" people, but I know that's not a good excuse.
What should I do?

Killer is too stressful right now with boons and mmr

I mained killer for a long time and now only play it to do incredibly dumb stuff like camp a jigsaw box with Pig while using vhs tape. There's no fun to be had playing killer in a normal capacity anymore and I legit find it far more fun to play solo queue because losing due to dumb teammates is less frustrating and upsetting than losing to glaring unfairness and balance issues. Also killers don't BM nearly as much as survivors, so that's another plus to playing survivor.
If people are actively working with the killer to get you killed, I am fairly sure that is reportable. I have personally only ever experienced this once, during the previous blood hunt.

I'd call it passively working with the killer. Sometimes that happens to me. I do want to muster up the will to play killer though, I just enjoy survivor more.

Yes, jumping from solo to killer has been one of the best decisions Ive done in this game, people really like to over exaggerate the killer experience right now, its no where near as bad as they claim

No offense but if you just swapped from survivor to killer then you haven't hit high mmr
Just wait until you do it'll be tons of fun I promise

it's fun. I like it, at least.
it's probably changed a long time since the last time you've played, though.

I've been monitoring people's experiences with killer for a good while now, so I'm a bit hip to all of their experiences too, although I haven't played in a long time. Solo survivor is just so stressful but you'll never see me do this; "Oh, there's only two of us left, let me run to the killer and get him to make a truce with me so I can rat out the other survivor so the killer will let me get hatch or escape through the gates." That is so ratty and unsportsmanlike.

What made me and still keeps me playing killer is not having to deal with solo queue. I'd rather take swfs all day then have to queue into another game where some guy is farmed off hook, both are downed and the killer just sits there with one guy on hook and the other right next to it.
Please just kill me so I can get back to killer.

That's true, but it's better than a stalemate while both survivors refuse to move on.
also, you can be the change by making the truce, finding them both, and ending things off there.

Ive swapped from solo Survivor to Killer back in 2018 lmao
Ive played in "High MMR", Ive played against good teams, literally have a video of going against a member of Oracle and his teammates were from Agony, I have their POV as well because they were steaming. Were they trying? No because I was Trickster, but it shows I aint at "low MMR".
I win some, and I lose some, thats exactly what MMR is supposed to do, Im not supposed to win every game and Im fine with that, and when I do lose, so what? What did I lose? A number that I cant even see? Whats there to be mad about? I move on to the next and reflect on what I could of done better.

I've switched over to kill. Youre games are only as sweaty as you make them be. If you play for fun and not for kills, dont pull your hair out if you dont get a 4k, etc you can have a lot of fun. I play for fun and memes. I always try to let the last person go so my mmr doesnt sky rocket. I dont sweat and so my mmr doesnt put me into sweats. Its a lot of bloodpoints and I get to meme >.<

Well at the start it will be fun cos your mmr is low if you havent played killer in long time, but after you get high mmr it will be sweaty af if you want to *win*

Stick with the top half of killers and you’ll get along.

Yes!
But...a few things:
- When you start off, your MMR will be 'average' - you'll probably have a dozen or more very tough games before it gets calibrated correctly. Just slam them out and do as well as you possibly can.
- Killer is a very demanding role. About 230 hours on killer my side and I'm still very much learning. It's not something you'll master overnight.
- Start with an 'M1' killer, doing so will stop you from developing bad/lazy habits.
- You will lose games. People will teabag and be jerks about it. You'll have to develop a pretty thick skin.
- Find one or two killers you know you'll like and learn them inside and out first.
- Make sure you grab BBQ ASAP and try to unlock it on all the killers you can as soon as you can. The BP gain is just too good to pass up, and it's a decent perk on top of this.
And probably the best advice:
This.
If you sweat for the 4k every game, you'll end up sweating for the 2k eventually. Take it easy, play your best and try to have fun. Consider giving fun and polite survivors hatch and don't be a facecamper!

Good luck, i wish u dont get impale by swf and mmr.

that depends... are you a masochist?
if you are, Killer is for you!
if you arent, well, i think you'll have more fun slapping yourself in the face than playing Killer - especially if you're looking to play for extended periodes of time.
on a serious note, as long as you MMR is low enough you can have a lot of fun with Killer. but once you get to the point where your MMR increases to a certain level, there is just not more fun to be had with this role - just stress, annoyance and sadness.

You will enjoy killer until you go against swfs at high mmr but you can’t do much about it I’m afraid
