Should I unlock Empathy or Botany Knowledge as Teachable Perk for Claudette Morel?
I only want to make teachable the perks I actually want to use, to decrease the RNG change of appearing in the bloodweb of the perks I don't want to use.
I'm going for Self-care perk with Claudette Morel but that's unlocked at level 40, so by level 35 I have to unlock one of the 2 other teachable perks. Which is not necessarily bad, as both don't seem OP but also not that bad, above average in terms of perks.
They aren't Dead Hard, Prove Thyself, Borrowed Time, Unbreakable or Iron Will; but I believe they will work great with a medic survivor focused on healing others.
So I was wondering, are Empathy or Botany Knowledge and good gameplay wise? Enough to unlock one as a teachable?
Botany Knowledge's of 33% faster healing doesn't look like much. You what, reduce it from 16 seconds to 12 seconds? saving 4 seconds? most of the time, you won't need that.
But Empathy could have its uses. Seeing wounded teammates over a huge 128 meters can give you tons of map information. The issue is, you don't get to see the killer, but if one of your wounded teammates dissapears you know the killer is there. So I'm in doubt whether Empathy gives useful map information or limited map information.
Are they worth it? (Empathy, Botany Knowledge)
I also found the common Situational Awareness perk to be quite useful in this regard, allowing you to better syncronize with your team. But you have to repair a generator for this to take effect, so again. Kindred may be a better version of Situational Awareness and they overlap so it's not worth taking both.
I also used Premonition to get a better sense of the killer while doing gens. So I can sense him when looking in his direction. But Spine Chill is the same thing as Premonition except better in every aspect. It has no cooldown, the killer has to look at you, you get a visual cue. It's harder to do gens when Spine Chill activates but also you perform other actions like vaulting faster. And that 30 seconds cooldown is a big difference from no cooldown.
Any thoughts about these 4 common perks as well? (Situational Awareness, Kindred, Premonition, Spine Chill)

Botany Knowledge is good perk to healing builds and self-care alone is not that good, you need to make it faster -> just use CoH if possible...

Botany is amazing. You can run it by itself to turn 12 charges into a full heal. Yellow medkit alone = two full heals, add Gauze Roll for three full heals.
Empathy is a really strong information perk, but Spine Chill is better. Empathy is only better for sabotage builds.

Botany makes medkits which are already busted even stronger. Not Meta but very strong regardless.
Empathy is a meh to okay information perk but it's invalueable for "heal survivors for x healthstates" challenges that like to crop up. I would pick it up solely for that reason

Botany with self care is amazing together don't have to waste time with the boon and makes need is a lot longer.
Empathy great for knowing where the killer is. See a injured survivor running around looping you know where the killer is until the survivor either drops or stops running. And for knowing who needs healing.
Kindred one of the best survivor perks in the game.
Premonition I never seen it used except for that one tome challenge and I thought it was garbage.
Spine chill is better and somewhat a noob friendly perk until you get better with your awareness on the killer then you can drop it.

So like, you're focused on only getting the best perks (UB/BT/IW/DH/PT) but you also want self-care?
I mean, whatever floats your boat.
As it stands, Empathy is a very good information perk and does a different job than Bond. Bond will help your team efficiency while Empathy will help your situational awareness and you'll know who is being chased as soon as they've been injured just from their movements. It's highly underrated.
Botany is one of the best healing perks in the game, especially when combined with a Medkit or Circle of Healing. Honestly not worth the Self-Care.

Self care is sort of nullified by the existence of CoH, but CoH is due a very heavy nerf so I'd pick it up in expectation if you want that ability.
Botany will almost never be a bad perk. Combine it with even a crappy medkit and CoH and you can get someone to full hp in the space of a DS stun essentially.

Honestly? Why not go for both? Neither of them are bad, even if they fulfill different purposes.
More options are always better, imo, though I can also understand why you don't want to clutter your webs. If you really want to go for one or the other, I'd go with Empathy, because the knowledge it gives you is usable even outside of your self-assigned role.
Definitely get Kindred if you see it. Especially if you're a solo player.

Botany is a cute Perk, quite useful. It helps to get heals done in time, sometimes with the normal 16 second heals you don't get it in time, BK helps in most situations and overall saves time.
Empathy only gives information, but this information can also be useful to see if a Survivor drags the Killer towards your position so you can search for safety before it's to late, you can also use this information to pre-run for a potential hook safe. It's also a hard counter to Knock Out (that is if anyone actually uses it). Though Blindness makes Empathy useless.
I would probably go for Botany, it's an overall impact to the game rather than only information, but since Botany is Lvl 35, you get both so you can use both. And both also work quite well together (makes sense since it's 2 teachables from the same character).

If I had to choose between them, I'd take Botany, since the healing boost is useful for lots of different builds and situations. Empathy is also pretty good, though, since you can always see where the chase is happening.
