Noise Notifications
I'm curious if anyone else has noticed this or if I just never have but have noise notifications not always been map wide? Have they always had about a 40 meter range?
Just wondering if this is a new change or if I have just never noticed.

From the wiki.

It's always been a thing, but I don't know the exact range.

...wait, fo rizzle?
Huh. I've been playing for almost two years and I had no idea there was a range to it.

That's what I'm saying! I have been playing since August 2018 and I have never noticed a range until now.

There is no range, it's map wide and has always been.

That's verifiably false for most loud noises, read the wiki on this one.
To OP: with the exception of the hook bubble one, they've always had a maximum range to them, it's not a new thing.

You dont notice what you cant notice, I mean if you are at 50 meter distance and someone rushes an action you would never know there was a rushed action (you are so far away you wont be able to even see the Survivor doing it), on the other hand when you are inside the radius you will always notice them reinforcing the idea they always activate.
Also the notification is not capped for gen skillchecks and hook saves, those are map wide always.

Even though I pasted an answer from the wiki, how do we explain when survivors fast vault repeatedly for the killer to come to them? You’re telling me every instance that the killer sees those is within 48m?

To be fair, the wiki is not always correct and it is also not official. It has had its errors multiple times already.

If there are any errors, they are usually fixed relatively quickly, I'd like to see you try and keep thousands of individual wiki pages updated at all times. These days, the wiki also datamines all of their stuff, that includes the range of loud noise notifications.
Trying to discredit the wiki with a vague "it's had its errors multiple times" is a fallacy and dishonest.

This is definitely all true btw - I have on multiple occasions rushed into lockers in basement (without doing it quietly) to avoid BBQ knowing the survivor was downed on the other side of the map and the killer hasn't known I'm there, ever, because they don't get the notification from that far away.
That said, they only have a range limit for some things; if someone misses a skill check or you get a notification from a perk (eg. Discordance, NWO), you'll see that from across the map.
Why the game doesn't mention this anywhere, I have no idea.

Okay, this makes more sense. I was about to say that I get stillness crow notifications no matter where I go and I've heard gens blowing up on the other side of the map. If it's just rushed actions, that's more understandable.

I never even considered the possibility of there being a range limit. Huh.

Yeah the idle crows have no limit.
Also worth noting, this is why I'm All Ears has a 48 meter range - because you don't get a notification beyond that for things I'm All Ears triggers on (and also why you can counter it with Q&Q).

Yes and is the easiest way to test the radius, when you start seeing spammed rushed actions just backtrack until they dissappear, once they do just go forward again and check if they start appearing again.
Take on account 48 meter radius is rather big and you may need to go to a corner if someone is doing them on the center of the map.

Such a weird rule.
