Killers need equivalent of dead hard, so that we can keep dead hard as is
How about a perk that charges up for every second that survivors repair (needed x seconds to fully charge) and then by pressing E you get an instadown on your next hit.

we already have that, its called "The Nurse" - you press a button and get to automatically "outplay" your opponent, unless you screw it up.
we should honestly just nerf both.

The obvious counterpart would be Coup de Grace, but the devs seem nervous about making it useful for some reason.

I think what you're suggesting is a buff to Coup de Grace. :P

How about we just fix dead hard? Nah.
7 -
Still stupid that Coup de grace is based on tokens.
5 -
OK if we are being serious what would be the requirement instead of gen completion? Unhooks? Both? That many Coup de Grace uses would be kind of overwhelming for survivors who don't actually use dead hard. (I know it seems all of them do)

Coup de Grace actually got nerfed which is hilarious. Coup de Grace should be like dead hard on a cooldown.
Dead hard has the potential to fix a mistake where you should be hit. You got outplayed and now you rely on pressing E to possibly extend a chase.
A buffed Coup de Grace will a cooldown will have the potential to fix a mistake where you couldn't get a hit in. You got outplayed and now you rely on Pressing E to possibly end a chase.
Sounds fair to me.

Ok but survivors will need something that can reset killer cool down like exhaustion add ons or perks. Pallet stuns for example. A boon that stops the cooldown just came to mind haha

Orrr we could just nerf Dead Hard.

It is annoying but survivors surviving sometimes is what keeps this game going. I kill plenty of them so the ones that got away deserved it unless they were cheating.

Yeah it would be nice for Coup de Grace to be more useful for killers. It's a really interesting perk.
But hardcore killer mains will just be like 'nerf dead hard or remove it instead' which is just dumb tbh lol

I did that bunch of months ago, but knowing how these devs work, its easier to make something completely new rather than chaging bunch of stupid numbers on something else for them.

I mean it's kinda the same for killer, just with one little exception, which is that killer does not have anything comparable.

One little issue with this.
Due to how current dead hard works, it will just eat coup and your lunge will end instead of following the survivor for full deadhard duration and then hitting when the hitbox is up again.

By technical definition, its coup de grace and you can see how fast it was gutted.

Mindbreaker, coup de grace, exhaustion add ons, expecting dead hard and waiting, body blocking pallets and windows, swinging or lunging at the right moment in the right direction are all tactics and tools we already use. It does not make them invincible. I like the cooldown on coup de grace idea that other fellow had.

Why though? There are 4 survivors and 1 killer. If exhastion would recover at all times then most killers would not be able to do anything in chase and would literary never be able to down anyone especially when that person would run deadhard. While for killer a flat 60s cooldown would allow you to still only use this in one chase on one survivor. The rest of the team is not affected at all.

Just get a single use nurse (chain) blink on every killer, up to 12 meters of distance on a 40 second cooldown

Coup won't work as I said in post few mins ago, even if it was buffed, due to how deadhard works.
Mindbreaker is actually great, but many survivors have already got used to it. Simply pre-drop a pallet and then not run for 5 seconds and you are fine.
Exhaustion addons are very rare, most killers don't have them.
Waiting for deadhard does not work, if you are able to counter deadhard by waiting it out, it's either endgame with no pallets around, or the survivor is using it wrong.
Swinging and lunging at the right moment to get the hit at the 'tip' does not work anymore, as lunge attack is eaten and canceled by the server, behaving as a miss. Again due to how current deadhard works.

I mean you gotta admit the perk got extremely dumb with the validation.
It eats everything and doesn't behave as it is supposed to. Not even mentioning the visual feedback that killers get, it can sometimes be so confusing that it loses you a whole match.

I have legit never seen coup de Grace used once since it was released since it got nerfed on the ptb. Kinda funny how fast it was nerfed and they buffed dead hard that was already broken.

Don't look at it as a negative since this change could inspire a whole rework of all killer perks that have a cooldown making them better while giving survivors some kind of counterplay.

Some of those things are working for me and I have actually started running Unrelenting sometimes to counter the false hits. I don't guess right every time but I still kill plenty of survivors who use dead hard. I do agree it would be nice to have a killer perk that granted some sort of boost like a super jump. Watching a clown jumping over a pallet loop throwing bottles haha

Dead Hard is fine. A buff to Coup/rework somehow would give a solid counter to it. Otherwise use exposed perks/add-ons.

While it's really limiting, that's not even the worst part of Coup. The worst part of Coup is that there's no way to toggle its activation and it's not a use-on-command perk, so you're not allowed to lunge unless you want to use one of your extremely limited tokens. If you play normally, you're going to burn the perk without ever getting value from it, or you're going to get minimal value by using the extended lunge when you would have had the down in a second anyway, instead of using them to make those hits where the survivor would have reached the window or a pallet would have been dropped in your face. You're playing with a handicap just to keep your stacks for when you need them.

Ironically if killers had their version of DH it would be a hex totem..with a cooldown..and tokens to be acquired before it was usable. That's the kind of double standards we have on perks these days and should illustrate how strong DH actually is.
On a serious note, I'd rather the outlier perks such as DH be brought down instead of trying to match it. We've got a lot of power creep going on.

Rather the game die then have a design where survivors are meant to win because of some nebulous corporate policy or something.
Really I just wish survivor mains would stop trying to gaslight about deadhard not being bugged despite mountains of video evidence.

Ironically the killer version of dead hard was the old Pop. A solid, good reliable perk that got 15 seconds shaven off it for some dumb reason.

keep the dash remove the invincibility. It's crap you can dead hard a hatchet that hits you.
0 -
It's bugged right now and it gains tokens like crazy. I had 5 tokens after 2 gens completed and they didn't always consume upon use.
If you want a buffed coup now is the time

The dash is the broken part that has no counter play, the invincibility has counter play.
The dash allows you to greed every single loop. If he respects it you get more loops, if he doesn't you just DH and make the pallet anyway. It makes loops a win/win scenario.
Getting rid of the distance but keeping the I-frame would make more sense. You can bait out the I-frame.
