Explain these new "ranks" please

So I am at the top, I am queueing solo because the event looks super fun and I wanted to just mess around. Am I just in queue with a ton of high levels?


I havent played in awhile but it looks like I am with people way above my rank.

    They're not Ranks anymore, they're called Grades. They no longer affect your matchmaking, they are now just an indicator of how much you have played that month.

    Your matchmaking is affected by a hidden MMR value now.

    While true, you have to play a lot and consistently to pip up to iridescent. It's not an indication of skill, but it does indicate that someone has accrued a lot of experience in a short amount of time. In other words, expect them to be at least somewhat decent.

    Tunnel Ranking system for Killer ;) I'm almost Red Rank after 2 nights of The Tunnel.

    Grades don't mean jack except how much you've played since the last grade reset on the 13th. Now it's a full reset though, down to Ash 4, so if someone's playing enough to hit Iridescent 1 in a month chances are they're at least competent.
