Playing Killer Sucks
That's all there really is to it. This game is so survivor-sided at this point that playing killer just isn't worth the headache and frustration anymore. I used to enjoy playing killer before dead hard validation, constant boons, borrowed time's changes, just everything that has made playing survivor easier. The cherry on top are these stupid snowmen. I'll be inches from a person and they hop into a snowman to tank another hit and make enough distance to start looping again. I feel like BHVR has made all of these changes to make playing survivor more fun since it's the statistically more played role, but they don't take into account that playing killer is just as necessary and needs to feel rewarding. As of now, it feels absolutely dreadful to hit someone, they scream, you go into cooldown, but they pressed Dead Hard on their McDonald's wifi and have now made it to another loop. I'm just sick of feeling like instead of having to outsmart 4 survivors, I have to outsmart 4 survivors and all of the game's second chances to at least get one kill. Am I alone in thinking this?

It's basically turned into a Fortnite/Roblox to me. I quit.

I desperately need to know what possible comparison you're drawing between this game and Fortnite, and I'm not even being snarky, I really want to know what you're getting at there.

It's just too stressful for me anymore.
Not worth it.
15 -
Eh I'm still having fun playing killer
14 -
Play the games. They're all pointless. Yikes.

Honestly I still enjoy it but I don’t take this game seriously so that’s probably why
8 -
I’m having fun with demo and Pyramid head

I actually have played Fortnite, that's why I really want to know what your comparison is because I genuinely don't see any, not even comparing the two games' flaws.
2 -
I'm enjoying Plague atm. Demo is fun too but I'm at level 50 still grinding out perks lol
3 -
No, you haven't.

Oh, I see, you're being snarky. Got it.

Thing is when I play killer, I want to play someone fun and with good chase music. And the two killers I play fit into that category. And as for the perks, I don’t have many😭

Playing killer is fine. It's fun. DH hit validation was needed, a huge improvement. If you're an inch away when they get in the snowman, you'll hit them as the animation to get in is slow and you injure them during it, so you're just full of it. Fortnight isn't anything like DbD. Next.

Erm, my post has apparently disappeared. Fun fun. Let's try again...
Playing killer is definitely still fun. DH hit validation was a very badly needed change. Hitting survivors as they enter the snowmen (which is a slow process) still injures them, so you have clearly never been in the situation that you wrongly claim sucks. Fortnight is nothing like DbD.

If you hate the game play something else.
If you hate the game you are obviously taking it way to serious resulting in frustration which leads to bad play.
Have fun....any way you can.

I still enjoy killer better then survivor. It’s fun not needing to worry about “teammates” leaving you for dead after you take a hit for them.

So now my original comment is back, but the following 3 or 4 comments in the thread have disappeared?
I'm new to these forums. Is this normal? Is it me? Am I going mad?

The individual we were arguing with has been banned, and I think our comments might've been a touch too aggressive in response, or otherwise just deleted because the thing we were responding too was also deleted.
Happens sometimes.

I still have fun as Nemesis, whacking people with my tentacle. I really don't care about kills or hooks or anything, I just want to whip people. Really the only time I can get annoyed playing killer is when I have a challenge that requires me to win / do well.

I sympathize.
This game can be maddening to play killer as, especially with people using the snowmen tactically (right when I was starting to learn Ghostface too) and with how BM survivors can be at times.
My biggest gripe though is just how unfriendly some maps are to M1 killers, and how outdated half the roster is - either in terms of bad/boring addons or a bad kit.
1 -
They should make all survivor's perks work ONLY for owners. Thanks to this, solo Q will be have stronger viablity of perks and SWF will not exploit broken stuff.
1 -
No, and that's why survivor queues are abysmal now. People do not want to play killer, especially during an "event" that is basically a punishment for 2 weeks. The devs have designed the game so people generally will not want to play killer. Because I guess they forgot both roles are needed for a match. I honestly think we'll see AI Killers/players randomly selected to play killer, before we see meaningful killer buffs for all killers, that brings them on par with survivors.

I haven't been back on this thread all day, not sure why your comment disappeared for you. Not my doing at all though.

I didn't even mention the BM survivors in my original post, but they're absolutely awful. I know you're supposed to just not let it get to you, but messing up and having it rubbed in your face is deeply annoying. Are there any tips besides, "Just ignore it" for not ignoring BM survivors?

This game has been survivor sided since beta. It's only obvious now cause of MMR which I find kinda absurd.

Yeah I don't really get all the doom and gloom around killer right now. Unless you main Trapper, Myers or Legion. Then you have my condolences.
We just got a good killer released with 2 good perks (+1 usable but underwhelming perk). The overall power level of the recent killers has been quite good. We FINALLY got another outdoor map. DS finally got nerfed. Infinite windows are basically gone.
My only real balance complaint is that Boon perks are way too good on The Game and Midwitch because of how hard it is to move between floors... and the Police Station just being trash in general.

Tell me about it. I've been playing some m1 killers lately because there's a few I like and it's been terrible most the time I just get w key and then is I catch them somewhere they can't w away I'm super loopable.

I wouldn't call Artist a good killer. She's average. Also, condolences to Twins mains as well. I've been doing decent with Myers. Trapper is hit or miss. Mostly miss on the new map.
1 -
Which killer(s) do you main, out of interest?
Since CoH arrived, I've had to basically stop playing Wraith and Pig altogether, and even my Demo struggles sometimes.
I've been playing a lot of Plague, Hag and Artist recently, as they are generally more able to reliably apply pressure and get rapid downs before people can instaheal.

I've been playing a lot of Myers lately he's one of my favorite characters and haven't played him in a while, also played around with trapper his buff is nice but thats about it. I played a couple more killers once and went back to playing huntress on console.
1 -
Myers is an odd duck. He depends so much on perks and addons and gets looped to pieces on some maps.
Trapper is the same - I'm not a fan of him and refuse to play him without Bloody Coil and Spring addons.
If you enjoy Trapper...please consider giving Hag a try. She's my go to 'I'm having a bad day' killer.

Myers haves been my favorite since I started back in 2018. I'm sure it has alot to do with been a huge halloween fan.
He didn't feel any better like it was nice to have 2 traps base kit but it didn't change his game much.
Hag is ok I've played her a few times and never really felt her.
I was enjoying oni and then I went on a 7 streak of indoor maps.
It's really hard rn to play m1 killers because you can loop them or w them and it Judy wastes so much time.
1 -
Yeah, even at intermediate levels, survivors know how to loop and stall pallets out pretty damn well. It's why we have the current arms race with anti-loop and healing.

I've definitely played less and less dbd over the past couple years and coming back again I'm getting sick of killer pretty quick. If survivor queues were shorter to bounce back and forth it would be a lot less frustrating. Wait 5 to 10 minutes for survivor or instantly get into another killer game? Survivor superiority complex also doesn't help the game. Almost every match having survivor t- bag and harass you with flashlight clicking is quite draining. Tunneling 1 person out feels like the only way to have a chance most games. This is coming from someone with not every meta perk for every killer or survivor and not using purple or red addons.
0 -
It's a dumb thing because it leaves the weaker killers so much worse. I'm all for shrinking the maps and wearing some of the loops then bring down all anti loop killers.

fortnite is most skillful game in tps pvp

You're not the only one who isn't enjoying Killer as much. The role became a chore to play. If you're not playing Nurse (maybe Blight aswell) you're going to have to sweat your ass hairs off to win at high MMR, even with a top tier build
0 -
It's not your connection when you get rollback, it's the survivors. Because they need to be favored for some reason.
1 -
if i'd have to guess, i THINK what they meant with that comment is that, for them personally, DbD has taken the same path as said other two games, where they can no longer find enjoyment in them and have therefore dropped them.
then again, im not them. thats just how i interpreted the comment.

80% of my games are killer games.
Since spring, I have not played DBD, I only watch streams and understand that the policy of worsening the situation for the killers continues.
Although I like the concept of this game, I have bought all the characters and add-ons

I feel like I can only play certain killers to have fun anymore. I've been mainly playing Artist and Plague because they both can deal with loops and gens.
