What is even the point of DH most of the time?

It never tricks killers anymore since we all expect it.

I have seen people use it, just to use it. The amount of times someone has deadharded into a wall, or some something else stupid with it just makes me laugh. Sometimes itll extend a chase, but its so universally used now it adds at most 3 seconds to a chase.

If you're using it to try to "trick" the Killer, you aren't using it as efficiently as you could be. The primary use of Dead Hard is as a safety net in the event that you greed a loop slightly too hard. It buys you just enough breathing room to just make that pallet/vault so you can extend the chase.

Dead Hard is mainly used for distance, but it can also be used to tank hits to get to another pallet/window/tile.

Imo just the nature of how it can be used in so many ways. ur right that usually it falls into the obvious play- but always has that potential to be used for so many situations. Dh for beamer save, fake hook save into dh- etc

The point of Dead Hard is to grant each Survivor that runs it a free 3rd health state in demand

    Ignore the invincebillty frames effect.

It's distance on demand. That's what makes it strong. No need for windows like lithe or forced to use it early like sprint burst. At any point you need it. Extra distance.

On a good survivor that knows how to loop this is devastating. The invinceble frames are just a nice bonus

Press E to extend chase. Or press E to gain an extra health state.

You can use it to dodge ranged attacks and make chases take 10 times longer.

Waiting patiently to use DH knowing the killer is baiting it out, maybe do a quick spin and then DH etc are decent ways to counter killers waiting your DH out. Nothing will compare to Deadharding for distance to a pallet or window to extend the chases way longer then they should already be.

If you're seeing people dead hard into a wall then you're going against potatoes. This perk can become so stupid at high MMR especially with the validation BS.

I've seen DH hard saving babys and extending a chase for so long.

It can negate ranged hits as well.

Hatchet about to land NOPE, d.h, hatchet hit's no effect.

You're definitely using DH incorrectly if you think there's no point to use it.

Watch how the best players use it. There lies the answer.

Whats the point in the strongest and most game changing survivor perk?

You gotta wait for survivors who know how to play if you believe it adds just 3 seconds

I pretend to be a Blight and hit walls full speed

Tell that to Blight, Oni, Nurse and probably some other killers.

But yeah, it's mainly for distance.

You can get greedy and get extra loops because of it, even when killer doesn't respect pallet.

Meh I never wasted a perk slot on it and I'm not gonna start now with Vigil buff for SB

What I am seeing more and more these days: after an unsave unhook the unhooked person will run straight at you and then DH through you. If you took the swing at them, you will miss and also lose sight of everyone involved, if not, you will at least have to dodge the unhooked survivor, buying the unhooker that much extra time to gain distance. I hate this.

Over 50% of the player base have no idea how to use DH.

Yeah. But when I am outpositioned why not use it anyway if I am going on a hook and have it again after the unhook.

If there is a chance you are going to be slugged or you might ds a killer/be saved by someonee else, it is better to save it than use it at the wrong time tho.

get me second chance to reach pallet so you can complain about it ofc or loop around it 3 more times 🤩

That's like complaining what's the point of DS because you keep missing the skill check.
