Anybody Else Going to Read "Ring" Now?
*crickets* ...just me then? Okay.

Iโm thinking of rewatching The Ring. Itโs free on Youtube but has ads every five minutes so kind of annoying there.

Thats actually a good idea. I wanted to watch Ringu but didn't want any spoilers for the book, but ill just watch the bastardized version. Do you know if it still has ads if you have YouTube premium?
0 -
Probably no ads with premium is my guess. ๐คทโโ๏ธ

I figured but ya never know.

Nope, Iโve never been much of a horror fan except for the original Jeepers Creepers film along with Halloween H20, a few of the Nightmare on Elmโs Street films and the original Scream movie. Iโm surprised I like this game since Iโve never been one to like getting scared, but here I am.
I may rewatch the English version of The Ring, but I doubt it.

Nope. I watched the remake when it was released and wasn't super into it so I'm not going to watch the original just because it will be in DBD. I'm sure original is better but the chain letter in video form storyline just doesn't appeal to me.

I just rewatched the remake and I am HYPED!

RIng and Grudge came around the same time - and the "ghosts" look kinda similar. Liked the Grudge a bit more - big Buffy Fan.

LOVE Buffy, never saw the Grudge.

I read Ring. I liked it.
In terms of the movies, Ringu is great, if a bit slow (Though, maybe I need to rewatch it. After seeing The Ring Virus, Ringu may seem like a fast-paced thriller in comparison.). The Ring is one of the few times I actually really enjoy an American remake (The Grudge and Dark Water are also very well done). As for the sequels, The Ring 2 and Rings suck. I've seen the Japanese Ringu prequel and some of the sequels but don't remember them very well.
I've been wanting Sadako to get into DbD for a long time. I hope Kayako is in our future, too.

Do you like the book or the movie better? (Not the remake)
0 -
Gosh, it's been so long I couldn't say for sure. Probably the movie, because it's a vengeful ghost story whereas the book has a sci-fi medical mystery thing going on, and I think I prefer the atmosphere of the movie. But they're both good and it's interesting to read the original story and watch the different direction in which the movie takes the material.

Huh...it'll be interesting to see where DBD takes both and maybe meets in the middle.

I've got it already! Not read it yet - I have a back-catalogue as long as my local library, but may up it in the "to read" list.

Maybe, maybe not. I can't focus on things like reading books, so it really depends. ๐

Yay!!
Reading's hard.
0 -
It's not that reading is hard, I just zone out and/or get distracted by 10,000 other different things. ๐
0 -
That's what I mean. It's hard to read because it's hard to sit there and stay focused on all the pretty words and stuff.

Not going to read the books but I did watch ใชใณใฐ2 and ใใใ this week. I am torn between which sequel I prefer. Both are flawed.

Just a warning for anybody planning to read the book, don't read the "Pingu" thread in general discussion. Major spoilers. :(
1 -
Do you know what those are in English? I know there is a prequel or two, I wasn't Sure about sequels.

Ring 2 and Spiral.
0 -
Oh okay. Are they worth watching?
0 -
I think they're interesting, as far as where the writer took the story, but neither stand out as good as the original. I feel in some way both take away from the original. Dark Water (ไปๆใๆฐดใฎๅบใใ) if you haven't seen it, I'd highly recommend!

I'll stick to the American Remake thanks
