Kill Switch update: The issue affecting Baermar Uraz's Ugly Sweater has been fixed and the cosmetic has been reenabled in all queues with this update.

Can i have in game minimap for RPD?

I cant physically play this map. The only place i can get to is the middle part infront of exit gate and the outside regions of the map. I walk in circles for minutes and i dont see killer, other survivors, gens, totems and then i either afk for the rest of the match or dc. Its worse than being slugged/camped/tunneled for entire game, since there is no end to it.

It’s really not that difficult, to be perfectly honest. Start with the layout of the hallways, and go from there. It’s counterintuitive, I’ll give you that, but not that hard to memorise.

OK so there's a survivor directly below you. How do you find the drop down that leads to the survivor below and how are you gonna read the opposing sides movements within its labyrinth like hallways.

I genuinely despise this map and I hope whoever actually thought this was a good idea gets a wake up call on how to design actually playable maps. Maybe capcom pulls a stranger things and pulls the license just so we don't have to play that miserable map.

I don't know the layout fully either, really it's just because I don't go to that map often enough to memorize it all. People said the same stuff when Midwich came out and everyone knows that map now.

I never said it was an okay map. I just said the layout is not all that difficult to learn. It’s the single most static map in the game as well.

As for the drops, there’s 2 stairwells in both wings, a third one at the north of the eastern wing, as well as a drop from the western 2nd floor bathroom. And another also in the western wing in the southern most ‘room’ adjacent to the library.

PS: Let’s not hope for more license dips, hm?

PPS: You should blame Capcom for this one, not BHVR.

I mean, even if capcom said you have to recreate map 1:1 ratio. I would still be like. How about we do that, BUT we make 2 maps out of it.

Man, in the ancient times when i was young we actually took a pencil and drew our own maps if there wasn´t one in game.

Draw a map - you will learn it pretty quikly (as i know the internet there may already be one).

Just practice. Trust me the map gets much simpler as you learn where everything is. Start by sticking to a small area and keep I'd up until you know how to traverse it. Id start with the main hall and library as both of the two are close by each other and not that hard to learn.

I've come to understand the majority of the layout, and there's only one spot I get a little tripped up over, but I still don't think it's a good idea for a map.

This map is insanely brutal for newbies. Like it's an instant loss. It is beyond unintuitive how to reach point B from point A and for people who don't have it memorized yet, you can't figure out how to get to hooked survivors, much less where anything is or what hallways are dead ends. Midwich operates on straight lines. Lery's, while visually samey, is a grid with a clear center and clear outer edges. RCPD is basically a bunch of 90* angle squiggly lines in the shape of a map, and it has two levels just to make everything extra confusing.

No map should have a learning curve that steep. The first game of DBD I ever played was on Lery's and I still managed to find gens and unhook people. I couldn't say the same of RCPD after playing it ten times, and I had over a thousand hours in the game by that point.

See, you can trust the internet - almost everytime somebody already did it...

I don't think we need a minimap, but it really would help if they let people wander around on their own. They let people with friends do it-- it should be opened to all.

I feel bad for people that didnt play Re2make that map isnt hard to navigate if you know it inside and out from the capcom games. I suggest you try a few practice maps with some friends to help you learn its layout

The DbD wiki STILL does not have any measurement stats for RCPD. No area in square Tiles or m^2 for any of the floors. I don't know if the wiki folks can't figure out how to measure it, or just dislike it so much that they're not bothering going through the work to measure it out.

I'll just go wait at the exits, it'll be more fun and less frustrating

Someone had asked the wiki folks about the why. The guy who usually measures maps said that indoor maps are generally more difficult to measure as each of them follow their own rules in terms of spacing corridors and rooms. Unless there's a repeating floor tile or ceiling tile pattern, it's almost impossible to measure them accurately without needing dev tools. In case of RPD, they don't even know where or how to get started.

Hooked Claudette looking to Nemesis: "Camper!"

Nemesis: "No.. erm sorry, I was just looking on my map."
