Why do you think Pinhead is not a popular killer?
I personaly think Pinhead is very rare to go againts so I want to know your opinion on why is that (or you can also say the opposite, maybe you see him offten).
I know there could be more options to choose from at once so please choose which one do you think has the most power.

i go against him constantly, him and Nemesis

One of the reasons might be because he is not easy to play on console.
Also his nerf was undeserved. Chaining people doesn't seem rewarding enough when chains break so easily. So even if people are good with him it doesn't pay off as often as it should.

I envy you. I want to play againts him but he is no where to be seen.

I feel like the biggest downside to him is just how RNG dependent his entire power is. That's, personally, why I feel like a lot of people just don't play him all too often.

High skill cap for mediocre reward
I wouldn't say he's rare- he's not one of those killers that has completely disappeared like Pig or Twins. But I would agree he is one of the more uncommon killers in the fog, and definitely because of the 1st poll option- he takes a bit more skill to use than other killers and the reward isn't all too high even when you land your hits. So on top of the mechanical skill of being able to use your power at all, you need to have the proper knowledge to know when your hit will even matter or if the chains will be broken and a survivor will still have the time to make it to a safe pallet or window loop in time. Making Pinhead one of the more complex killers to use.
When instead you could just use Clown, Deathslinger, or Nurse, which isn't to say that these killers are any better or any worse- only that they share some similar mechanics in their kits that are potentially easier to use or understand. And simply by virtue of being less complex may be enough to net some more positive results than you would with Pinhead.

A combination of being difficult to play, less effective on a controller, auric cell only, and decent but not top tier, and having an NFT controversy surrounding them likely all contribute too being an unpopular killer but none of those aspects probably on their own make that the case

Pinhead's power is so hard to use and has a lot of limiting factors. He also shares the design trend of his showcase ability not being in his direct control, but in the survivors control which means he can only get it when they actively choose to let him have it.
The reward for getting good with his power isn't worth the time investment when you could spend that same amount of time getting good at a more universally viable killer.
Also a lot of people play this game on console so Pinhead isn't going to be the most accessible killer to learn if you play on controller rather than mouse and keyboard.

NFT and his power is ass to use.

It's a combination of many of those reasons. If you want to play him effectively, you need to go for the chain hunt playstyle. But the fun part is actually to use the gateaways, except... half the time they do nothing when not actively working against him, even if you never miss. Which, in the end, makes him frustrating and unrewarding.
And he's also NFThead after all.

It hurts to call him "NFT man."
I play him a lot and he's super fun, but he's also a huge pain to play as. It's what I call masochism, which makes sense after all because Pinhead is a... sadomasochist.
His power should be a lot more rewarding. Make long range shots rewarding, make it more difficult to remove chains by making it so collision doesn't remove the chains, yada yada.

He's really unfun to play as and he's another high skill, low reward killer.

His box is strong when one or more survivor dies. That promotes tunneling. That playstyle does not feel good.
Additionally, his hooks (which require the most skill) don't do much when they land. They should probably function a bit like Trickster's knives.

I believe it's a combination of things. He's REALLY hard to control, which puts people off him, and it isn't really strong enough to warrant such difficulty. Many of the things he does are handled better by other Killers, Survivors can deny him of his most powerful ability pretty easily, and the NFT stuff was just the cherry on top for a lot of people, out of either disdain for their existence or out of fear for being judged playing him.

He's all the above and clunky to boot with him being able to self sabotage successfully landed hooks by walking through them.
Seriously though why can he break his own power AFTER using it successfully? Its so needless with how hard it is to land to begin with.

His box should be the full point of the thing. Bake his "survivors can't see the box till the hunt start" addon in, and make hitting with his controlled chains speed up the time till the next hunt. Then, make the checks for solving the box actually HARD.
He would be so much more interesting if his power was expressly a "hits all survivors at once," instead of the "hits one player" that every other killer in the game has.

Weak Killer
He's both really weak, and high skill requirement for mediocre reward.
He's also heavily RNG-based, and even when you get really good RNG, he's not that good.

I play every killer in the game. Of course, I have my favorites but I try to play all. Pinhead is in the category in which I like the concept but I hate the execution. He could be very strong if his chains didn't break so quickly. The thing is, he is a hard killer to master since hitting a chain requires you basically to use a Nurse's blink + Billy's chainsaw and if you miss, you get really punished because of it because Pinhead basically stays still while possessing a chain. This wouldn't be a problem if he also had a high reward by hitting the chain, but that's not the case since in practice you are just getting a small slowdown like the Afterpiece Tonic, making him a high risk, low reward killer on chase.

Other Killers do better for far less effort than him
I know a lot of people that love to play him purely because of how well designed he is, but the main complaint I hear is, "Well The ___ can do that same thing so much faster, so I play them instead." People just prioritize efficiency over fun value sometimes.
